At that moment, Jack's personal phone suddenly rang, causing him to pick it up. "What's up?"

For a moment, Jack's body tensed. His whole body suddenly felt weak. Jack even had difficulty swallowing his own saliva. But the voice on the phone continued. "What's wrong, Jack? Surprised? How about I tell you that there's no perfect crime? Alright, I'll give you a clue. From now on, duck if you want to stay alive. And it starts from--"

A bullet hit the back of Jack's car. He turned around, his pupils widening. "Damn!"

Jack immediately stepped on the gas pedal to the maximum. Meanwhile, Ava, who heard the gunshot, peeked her head back. "What's going on?"

Jack turned to the right, and at that moment, he stepped on the gas pedal to the floor, speeding like the speed of light. Ava had closed her eyes with both hands. She only opened her face after a few seconds.

The girl's head turned back to see how the truck lost its balance and rolled over, blocking the road. Ava immediately turned to Jack. "Are you insane? That was dangerous!"

The next second, Ava could only lean her back against the car seat. She took a deep breath while holding her head, which suddenly felt dizzy.

"Are they gone?" Jack asked, occasionally glancing at the rearview mirror in the middle.

"You think I can't drive?" Ava then grabbed the steering wheel from Jack's grip. "Alright, I'll show you what a racer looks like."

Hearing Jack's shout made Ava's gaze also turn forward. She covered her face with her hands again. But a second later, both of their bodies hit the car dashboard. And the car stopped just like that.

Yes, they had just crashed into an empty building. Now Ava looked up, staring in disbelief at what she saw. "Oh my God!"

Meanwhile, Jack immediately got out because he saw smoke coming from the car's hood. As soon as he noticed the condition of his car, which was now unrecognizable, he kicked it hard. "Damn! Now what can I do?"

Hearing that made Ava get out too. Her panic increased drastically when she saw the smoking car. "What happened to the car?"

Jack, feeling annoyed, then looked at Ava with an unfriendly expression. "It flew. The car flew. Are you satisfied?"

"Now how are we going to get home? This is too far from home, I don't even know where we are." Ava pulled her own hair until it became messy. She was really panicking. The road was empty and there were many turns.

"A while ago you just said you were kicked out of the house. I don't know about you." Jack paused. He opened the car door and took out a gun with its bullets. "But I'm leaving here."

"Hey?!" Ava shouted as the man really left her alone.

The girl immediately ducked while protecting her head. "No, no, not now. God, I still want to live."

"There they are! Catch them!" Someone from the intersection behind them shouted.

Jack, hearing that, returned and grabbed Ava, pointing the gun at her head, making the girl hysterical. "Ah! What are you doing?"

But Jack didn't care about Ava's screams. The man seemed deaf and stared sharply at the approaching police officers. "Stay there or this girl will die!"

"Turn yourself in to the police, Jack! Then we will lighten your sentence." His name was Luke, a police officer who had always been hunting Jack. But all this time, no one knew what this mafia's face looked like. Only now, and everything was revealed just like that.

Some police officers dared to approach, making Jack point his gun to the sky and shoot. "I said don't come closer!"

The corner of Jack's mouth lifted as he saw them retreat. Now Jack began shooting at the police officers, causing their guns to be aimed back at him. But swiftly, Jack pulled Ava's body in front of him to shield himself from their attacks. "If you try to shoot, this innocent girl will be the victim."

In Jack's embrace, Ava could only shake her head. "Didn't you hear?! Back off! I don't want to die now, I still want to vacation in Switzerland."

Hearing that, Luke signaled his men to retreat. So Jack advanced, and the police officers moved further back.

Jack crouched to take the car keys from one of the officers he had already killed. "I'll take this. If anyone follows me, you'll be haunted by guilt for letting this girl die in front of you."

After saying that, Jack forced Ava into the driver's seat. The police, seeing this, started shooting at Jack, but he did the same. Unfortunately, one of the bullets managed to hit Jack's left hand.
