Upon arriving at Linda's house, Jeff and Wiska were disappointed to learn that Stella was not there. However, they were greeted by Linda, who seemed surprised by their unexpected visit.
"Good evening, sirs," Linda greeted them, feigning surprise. "To what do I owe this surprise visit to my house?"
Jeff exchanged a glance with Wiska before replying, "Good evening, Linda.
Jeff took a deep breath and addressed Linda with sincerity in his eyes.
"Linda, I believe you know me already. Here with me is my childhood friend, Wiska," Jeff said, introducing Wiska to Stella. Then, he continued, "I know you know why we are here. Please, if I have ever offended you, or if you've heard horrible things about me from your friend, please kindly forgive me. I am sorry."
Linda was taken aback by Jeff's humility, and she hesitated for a moment before responding. "Well, I have heard you," she said finally. "Like you said, I know why you are here. But as you can see, it is not in my power to release Stella to you. She's old enough to make decisions for herself," Linda added, her tone innocent but firm.
You are right, but you are her friend," Wiska continued. "Jeff is my childhood friend. I know him as this hard and strong man, but bringing up this Stella's case, my friend, the reserve is the case. I have watched Jeff cry for love, he starved himself. I don't even want to talk about the sleepless nights all for this same Stella.
Well, like I said, I don't know Stella's whereabouts. On second thought, who told you people that she's here?
You know that's not necessary now. Please help us, we are soliciting for your help. Please don't let us down. We are all adults, let's treat ourselves as one, please," Wiska pleaded in the most polite manner.
Wiska's heartfelt plea resonated with Linda, and she couldn't help but feel moved by his sincerity.
"Okay, fine," she relented. "Stella is living here, but she's not in the house now. She went out."
Jeff's face lit up with hope, eager to know more. "To where exactly?" he asked, his anticipation palpable.
Linda shook her head apologetically. "That I don't know," she admitted.
Wiska, however, wasn't ready to give up. "It's alright, we will wait," he insisted, determination shining in his eyes.
Linda nodded, touched by their persistence. "I appreciate your patience. I'll let Stella know that you're here when she returns," she promised.
With that, Jeff and Wiska settled in, ready to wait for Stella's return, hopeful that they would finally have the chance to make things right.
Linda went inside to bring chairs for them. She offered them chairs and glasses of juice respectively. The two friends later engaged in chatter with Linda. It was amusing how easily they got along. Although Wiska, who's always concerned about Linda, made it so. One could say they had been close friends before now.
They were still talking when Stella came in. She opened the gate upon seeing Jeff and immediately turned back. Jeff, noticing Stella's presence, couldn't wait for anybody to advise him to chase after his woman.
Jeff stood up and pursued Stella, although she ran but not as fast as Jeff. Within 3 minutes, Jeff had already laid hands on Stella. She tried to force his hand off her body.
“Don't touch me again, leave me alone,” Stella said, still struggling because Jeff held her firmly. Jeff proceeded to go down on his knees, begging Stella to come back.
To Stella, Jeff going down on his knees for her was an experience she could never believe. Seeing Jeff on his knees, Stella was left speechless.
You're causing a scene already; you need to get up," she said, feeling concerned.
"That will be when you have accepted to follow me back to the house," Jeff demanded.
Feeling exhausted over the situation, Stella went back to the house, and Jeff followed her.
Stella walked in, angry, and directed all her anger at Linda.
"Why did you tell him I am here? Moreover, you couldn't inform me? What is wrong with you?" She roared aggressively at Linda.
"Babe, calm down. I wasn't the one that brought them here. Moreover, I have been calling you, but you are not taking my calls, so what do you have me do?" Linda defended.
Stella checked her phone and discovered it was on silent mode. She went through the call log and saw that Linda had actually given her four missed calls.
Stella, casting a remorseful glance at Linda, swiftly directed Jeff and his friend to leave, unwilling to entertain them. Jeff felt a wave of shame and disappointment wash over him.
Wiska, who had been observing Stella intently, seized the moment to interject.
"Hey, please calm down. Yes, I understand you're upset, but venting your anger isn't beneficial for you," Jeff said, already feeling embarrassed.
"Venting my anger? What do you mean?" Stella inquired, awaiting Wiska's clarification.
"Well," Wiska continued, "I understand you're upset with my friend, which is understandable. However, you shouldn't extend that anger to me. We haven't met before, and it's only fair to introduce ourselves properly. Is this how you typically treat your guests?"
Pausing, Wiska noticed Stella appeared weakened by the situation.
Hmm, that was a quick one. Well, I apologize; it was just the heat of the moment," Stella expressed regret.
"I understand completely. No offense taken. By the way, I'm Wiska, Jeff's childhood friend. I might not be a familiar face to you because I relocated to Sweden after my mother's passing," Wiska clarified.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I'm Stella," she replied.
"Jeff's who?" Wiska joked playfully.
"I don't know," Stella replied sharply, trying to suppress a laugh.
Seeing Stella's reaction, Wiska burst into laughter, and Stella joined in. Both chuckled while Jeff and Linda smiled.
Wiska continued, "Stella, we're friends now, and please, whatever issues you have with my friend, please forgive him. I've really taken the time to talk to him, and as you can see, he's a changed person now."
"I doubt if your friend will ever change," Stella remarked skeptically.
"Babe, I am a changed man, trust me," Jeff chimed in earnestly.
Wiska and Linda exchanged amused glances as they listened to Jeff's assurance.
Well, I am not convinced," Stella persisted.
"You won't be convinced if you don't return home. That's exactly true," Wiska added.
Stella was already confused, and she kept quiet, unsure of what to say next.
Linda, who had been silent but observant, decided to speak her mind.
"Jeff, you didn't do well. I mean, you shouldn't have been so harsh to the lady you claim to love. In fact, when Stella requested to come and stay with me, I didn't give it a second thought because I know you are making life unbearable for her. Just look at her; Stella is now a shadow of herself," Linda said, her voice filled with concern as Stella began to cry.
"Linda is my friend, and I can tell you wholeheartedly that she loves you. Yes, she does," Linda continued, looking at Jeff, who hung his head in shame.
"What have I not done for you? From the day we met, I have been faithful and loyal to you. I am committed to you on every side. What else do you want from me, Jeff?" Linda questioned, her voice tinged with disappointment.
Look at my body," Stella said, showing off her scars. "Bruises all over my body. You beat me up at any given opportunity, you abuse me and laugh at life."
She was still speaking through tears when she became more aggressive. She grabbed Jeff's clothes and started shaking him. It was as if Stella had gone mad.
"Go! Just go! I don't ever want to see you again! Go! I hate you!" she said, her tears uncontrollable.
Wiska and Linda started begging her to calm down, while Jeff, who had been on his knees, begging Stella, was seen crying as he couldn't hold back his tears any longer.
For almost twenty-five minutes, Jeff and Wiska had been pleading with Stella to forgive and come back home.
"It's alright, you guys have been begging for a long time now," Linda intervened. "Just go home. I will talk to her. She will meet you at the house at most by tomorrow evening."
"Are you sure?" Jeff asked, pleading once again.
"Please, help me talk to her," he added.
Wiska thanked Linda for her hospitality and concern so far, and they made their way to the car as they zoomed off.
