Selena's POV
I looked at this business card with both eyes rounded. I'm not sure the man is a CEO. He still looks young.
It's possible that he needs a cleaner in his office. Should I go to his office?
"Don't think too much Selena. You just go to his office this morning," Lili said seriously.
"Actually, I'm also confused about where to work again. After getting fired at the hotel," I said desperately.
"It's all because of Cody. He's crazy. You got provoked and there was a commotion at the hotel. That got you fired," Lili said with annoyance.
"I think Christian is a good guy. He was willing to take you to the hospital. He was also very kind to give you his card. Maybe he feels sorry for you Selena," Lili said looking at me with a pitying face.
"Oh my, how unfortunate my fate is. I'll get ready right now to head to Cristian's office," I said and stood up quickly.
After I changed my clothes and did my hair neatly. Now I quickly left by bus. I arrived in front of the office. My eyes were stunned by the beauty of this magnificent office. This company looks very classy. Even the floor I stepped on was very shiny and luxurious. I walked quickly inside.
"Excuse me Miss, can I help you? Or perhaps you're lost?" The well-dressed woman asked, looking at me from the tip of my shoes to my head. The look in her eyes was as if I was completely insignificant.
I tried to be confident. I took a breath and tried to be comfortable.
"I have this," I said, immediately handing her the business card I had received from Cristian.
The woman in front of me looked at the business card carefully. Then she looked back at me for a moment.
"I would like to meet Mr. Cristian," I said firmly.
"What did you say? You want to meet Mr. Cristian? That's impossible. You look so..."
Suddenly Cristian's voice rang out loudly.
"Betty! Let that girl into my room!"
"Oh yes, I'm sorry, sir," Betty said hurriedly.
I immediately walked after Cristian after giving Betty an annoyed look. A woman like Betty really made my head spin.
"Have a seat," said a man in a neat suit. This room was very luxurious. I was very nervous to sit on a chair that looked very expensive.
"You finally met me in this office. I didn't expect that. Oh yeah, how's your wound?" he asked, looking at my lips.
"Oh, yes it's quite a bit better," I replied smiling sweetly. I tried to stay calm.
"Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. What's your name?"
"My name is Selena Watson," I said briefly.
"Selena, I don't think that name suits you," Cristian said, making me want to hit him. But I tried to hold back my emotions.
"Did you just want to insult me?" I asked with a dull face.
"Okay, I'm sorry about my joke," Cristian said with a chuckle, but I really didn't laugh at his joke at all.
"Okay, fine. I'll give you a job, because I know you really need the money. I think you owe me five hundred thousand dollars. Is that right?"
"I-yeah right, my god, I'm so embarrassed that my fight with my ex-boyfriend had to be heard by some people at the hotel restaurant. Yes, it's all because I was very emotional at that time,"
"Alright, I can give you more than five hundred thousand dollars. But you have to do a good job," Cristian said firmly.
"Yes, of course I will do a good job. Because honestly, I really need a job. I will do anything, as long as it is legal," I said firmly. I must have looked very desperate.
But what if he told me to kill people? Or he's going to trade me? And I just gave him my consent. Geez that's so bad.
"Marry me, Selena."
Selena's POV
"Wh-what? Marrying you? Is that a job?" I couldn't help but laugh.
The man who was now sitting in front of me suddenly stood up and approached the glass window. The cityscape was clearly visible below.
"You really need the money, don't you? Then marry me," Cristian said, folding his arms across his chest.
I stood close to him. Right next to his towering body.
"But that's not possible. I've never even thought about marriage," I said irritably.
Cristian turned around. He looked at me seriously. His eyes looked deep into mine.
"Are you sure you can pay your five hundred thousand dollar debt if you don't marry me?" he asked, tilting his face. He was really arrogant.
Suddenly the door opened. There was a woman with long, flowing hair. Her face was made up with beautiful makeup.
Cristian's hand suddenly grabbed my upper arm quickly. I was surprised to see his face. He suddenly kissed me romantically. I was like a statue now.
I immediately dodge Cristian's face by a few inches. He now looked at the woman near the door.
"Julia, what are you here for? I'm making out with my fiancé," Cristian said confidently.
"Fiancé? He's your fiancé? I can't believe it! Where's the ring?" asked the woman with super-straight black hair.
"This is the ring," I said, showing my ring finger. Now I've started acting.
"This ring is not very attractive. But it's a ring inherited from Christian's grandmother. Right, baby?" I glanced at Cristian with a spoiled voice.
Cristian caressed my cheek gently.
"Yes, that's right, dear," Cristian said with a sweet smile.
I saw that Julia's facial expression was really angry. But she was trying to look beautiful. Her eyeballs were looking at my appearance.
"Where did you get a woman with tacky clothes like this heh?" Julia asked, folding her arms across her chest.
"What are you saying? My appearance is tacky? Oh my gosh. You really don't know fashion, do you? This is an outfit that was just shown at the fashion show of the famous designer Sarah Sechan. You must not know who she is, right? She's very famous. She has a lot of followers on her Instagram," I said confidently. I'm really good at lying.
Julia's eyes widened. She looked confused about how to answer my question.
"You two are clowns!" Julia shouted out, slamming the door violently.
"Very good acting, Selena," Cristian said, putting his arm around me in a familiar manner. But I quickly removed that arm from around my neck.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I was too stunned by your acting," Cristian said smiling sweetly.
"So is that the woman your parents set you up with?" I asked.
"Yes, you're absolutely right and of course I don't want a woman like Julia. You saw her attitude earlier. She didn't even knock on the door when she entered this room. She is very arrogant. I don't like Julia," said Cristian Denba confidently.
"I thought Julia was a beautiful woman who would not be rejected by men like you," I said, looking at Cristian's appearance from head to toe.
"You're wrong, I'm not like those men at all," Cristian said firmly.
He then slapped the shadow in front of his face.
"Ah never mind, don't talk about julia. Let's sit down. Let's talk about your job," Cristian said with long strides as he approached the chair and leaned back casually.
"Ok fine, so it's simple. I need a wife who can convince my father. That I'm ready and that he can hand over the company to me completely, all you need to do is pretend. Let's sell a lie and that's it. I'll pay whatever bills you have and I'll give you extra money if you work really well," I said firmly.
I had no other way to pay off the debt. So I nodded in front of this sweet-faced man.
"Okay good. Any questions?"
I glanced over for a moment to think of what question to ask.
"How long am I going to sell this lie?" I asked seriously.
Cristian looked up and then closer to the table.
"Oh yes, I forgot," he said quickly and opened a drawer then held up a document and placed it on the table.
"This is the document you have to sign. You will be living this lie for seven months," he said as he looked at the document and pushed it towards me.
I began to read it carefully. It had my and Cristian's names written on it. The date of birth of both of us was also written there.
"First If you try to leave the marriage before the seven months are up. You will not be paid. Second you must show affection in public. Third you can see anyone you want. As long as it is not in a public place. Fourth do not tell anyone about this agreement or it will be canceled. Fifth after the contract is over you will receive additional money and leave. In addition that neither of us will have sex without consent or even ever," I read it carefully. The last part I really agreed with a thousand percent.
"Did you read it? Is there any objection? No, right? So just sign it properly," Cristian said making me nervous.
I tried to breathe slowly and quickly signed the document. Hopefully I would be able to finish this job soon. After all, it's only seven months. So I can rest easy after seven months.
"So after this what should I do?" I asked looking at her seriously.
"Pack your things and move into my house."
