Ch. 3The Awards - 02

Then, other awards were announced with the names of artists and winners mentioned. Next up was the award for the Best Drama Film Actor in 2045, and both Queena and Viona were nominated. Once again, Viona's name was called, and she was stunned with disbelief.

Her friend sitting next to her patted her shoulder gently and teased her to go up on stage with a smile.

Startled, Viona quickly wiped away the tear of emotion that had escaped her eye. Then, she rose gracefully and headed towards the stage. She gave a brief kiss to the two friendly hosts and received her award.

"Wow... Uhm... Honestly, I didn't expect to receive this award. I was so confident that my best friend would get it. Remember last year?" she said with a small smile.

Laughter erupted from the audience, and Viona's gaze shifted to Queena, who appeared to be smiling without any meaningful expression.

Satisfied, Viona returned to the microphone and thanked everyone who supported her – family, boyfriend, friends, and all those unnamed. Then, she brought the trophy back to her table and hugged the people sitting nearby with joyous laughter.

Next, the hosts, who had changed again, announced the following awards. Viona always smiled and clapped every time an artist's name was mentioned and proudly smiled when the winner's name was called.

Next up was the award for the Best Supporting Actress in 2045, which nominated Queena. Again, unfortunately, her name was not the one called as the winner.

Then, again and again, five awards were mentioned, all with Queena as one of the nominees, but she only won the Best Supporting Actress award.

Next was the award for the Best Angst Film Lead Actor, with Queena and Viona nominated again. And once again, Viona's name was announced as the winner.

This time, Viona smiled broadly, and without any nudging from her seatmates, she stood up and walked gracefully to the stage. Once again, she thanked the audience, joking that she didn't know what else to say since she had thanked everyone during her previous acceptance speech. After that, Viona returned to her seat and placed the trophy on the table.

Next, the award for the Best Romance Film Lead Actor was announced, and Queena was one of the nominees. Unfortunately, her name was not called out this time.

Then, the award for the Best Family Film Antagonist was mentioned, also with Queena as a nominee, but again, her name was not called as the winner.

And again, and again, until a total of five awards with Queena nominated, she only won the Best Supporting Actress award.

Next was the award for the Best Brand Ambassador, which Viona won as the ambassador for Dior. She had received three awards in total, making her smile awkwardly but without feeling guilty.

She joked that she wouldn't feel guilty about other brands not winning the award, but she sympathized with the other ambassadors since she was so greedy for trophies. Her joke brought laughter from everyone, but it did not elicit any expression of meaning from her two friends who had hurt her. Unfortunately, the camera didn't show Queena's table, so they couldn't see the expressions of the two people who had hurt Viona.

Viona smiled again. "Let me ask you something, Revan. During our relationship, have I ever lied or been caught lying?" Viona asked, not caring about the emotional state of the man she used to love.

"Never, right?" Viona continued when Revan remained silent. "And how many times have other women been caught lying by you? Not by others, but by me, the agency, or the fans? Too many times, right?" Viona said, tapping her fingers on the lectern.

"And do you think I'm lying now when I say that Viona is not a dishonest woman? Tsk tsk tsk. I now understand the meaning of the saying that love is blind. You refuse to see the facts right in front of your face. Let's see, shall we?"

"Viona, stop... please... enough," Queena pleaded.

Viona cleared her throat, "Do you want me to stop?" she asked, leaving the decision to the audience who were eagerly awaiting more.

"JUST GO ON, VIONA! EXPOSE ALL THEIR EVIL SO THEY WILL BE AFRAID AND THERE WON'T BE ANY MORE VICTIMS!!" yelled one of the artists sitting further back. Many agreed with this statement, making it clear that the majority of the audience wanted Viona to explain further.

Viona extended her hands like a villain and grinned, "You hear them, Queena. And who am I to deny their little request?" she said with a playful laugh.

"Let's see... your first relationship ever... when you were still a teenager, you had an illicit relationship with a dance instructor. Too bad you never told me about it, but instead kept it to yourself and made the instructor confess in public. Then, not long after, you started dating a senior drama club member, what was his name? Zachariah something? And..." Viona counted on her fingers one by one with a concentrated expression. "I can't even count how many people... you know, during our high school years. Then high school, and college. And of course, when you started working. I remember your first job in the entertainment industry, Queena. And even though you kept it a secret, I knew about it," Viona continued, shaking her head with an expression of disbelief.

"And you're mad that I referred to your lover as not being a good woman?" Viona said, looking at Revan, who seemed like he would faint at any moment. "Ah... you never knew, huh?" Viona realized. "Doesn't that make you wonder how many more secrets my former best friend is keeping? And how many secrets I've kept from you? None, right? YET... you still chose her over me!"

The room fell into a tense silence. The same went for the viewers watching at home or wherever they were tuning in from. They were still trying to digest Viona's bombastic words.

"It hurts, Rev," Viona whispered with a wounded tone. Tears of sadness finally flowed down her face, allowing the world to see how vulnerable Viona was at this moment. A few seconds later, she took a deep breath and flung the engagement ring at Revan's face. "But I am glad it's over," she concluded with a smirk.

She then signaled the music team to play an old song that came out in 2022. A song created by Taylor Swift titled "Vigilante Sh*t." A song she felt was very fitting for her current situation.

Draw the cat eye, sharp enough to kill a man...

You did some bad things, but I'm the worst of them...

Sometimes I wonder which one will be your last lie...

They say looks can kill, and I might try...

I don't dress for women, I don't dress for men...

Lately I've been dressing for revenge...

The audience looked amused, understanding why Viona chose a song that came out decades ago.
