Gabriel

After I completed the task Amanda asked me to help with, I hurried down to Nightingale River where I was supposed to meet her.

Unfortunately, what I saw on my arrival did not tell a good story. The car’s door was left open, and I sensed something was wrong. With the help of Ethan, I looked around, only to find Amanda's wristwatch on the riverbank and the blue hair band she wore earlier in the morning floating on the water.

Ethan suggested we call the emergency line. I permitted him to do so but couldn't wait to find Amanda. I jumped into the river to look for my wife.

I was able to locate her on the other side of the river. She was unconscious or should I say almost dead? I resorted to many ways to save her.

Perhaps, I was too late. Saving her or not, it just seemed like she would never breathe again.

“Amanda!” I called out repeatedly as I increased the pressure on Amanda's upper chest area.

“How can we save madam?” Ethan asked, slightly rubbing the sweat off his face.

“I don't know,” I shouted as cold sweat broke out of my body.

Thinking of no further way since Amanda was unconscious, I placed my lips on hers so I could offer her mouth-to-mouth respiration.

I tried repeatedly before Amanda finally snapped her eyes open and breathed heavily before she poured water from her mouth. I rubbed her back after.

Just then, the emergency team arrived and I was forced to yell at them before Amanda requested I take her home. I carried her in my arms and took her home.

After I changed my vengeful witch’s clothes, Emily brought in a towel and warm water in a red bowl. She wanted to wipe Amanda's body to keep her warm and reduce the cold.

I ordered Emily to leave and I started dipping the towel in the water. Gently, I wiped Amanda's beautiful skin. When I reached her breast area, my lips unwittingly curled up and I had to bite it to satisfy myself.

“This is not the time for what you are thinking of, Gabriel,” the angelic part of mine screamed.

“No! She's asleep, just do what you want.” The demon in me spat.

“A patient dog eats the fattest bone.” My angelic mind advised me and I decided to listen to it.

That was probably a good suggestion. A minute later, I wondered where my good guy was going to lead me but I shoved it off.

I quickly wiped the remaining part of Amanda's body after I heard a knock on the door. I dipped the towel into the water, squeezed the water out, and placed the towel on her forehead. I cleared my throat and asked the person to enter shortly.

Ethan scampered in and I knew he meant business.

“Were you able to find out who it was?” I asked.

Earlier, when we left the riverside, Ethan noticed that there was a different car tire on the sand. I came to understand that someone or some people were also present before I and

“No. There was no CCTV footage in the area,” Ethan replied with a sad look on his face. Even than mine.

“Only Amanda can tell us what happened to her when she wakes up,” I told him before he bowed and left.

After two hours, Amanda was still sleeping or she was unconscious. That, I wasn't sure of. I called Emily to call Dr. Aishwarya so she could check up on her.

When Doctor Aishwarya arrived, I went downstairs to meet her. We exchanged pleasantries and I told her what happened. She jokingly whispered that my wife was pregnant but I knew that was impossible except my wife was pregnant before she started living in my abode.

Doctor Aishwarya requested to see my wife. I told her to follow me upstairs.

As we reached the stairs, my vengeful wife made her way downstairs in fury. Her eyes dilated with anger. She was furious as if she could anyone any minute. She nearly pushed me down the stairs when she shoved me out of the way.

“Where are you off to?” I shouted as I rubbed my chest. My wife ignored me and exited the house. I stared at Doctor Aishwarya who shrugged her shoulders before I took my car keys and ran out of the mansion.

“Amanda!” I called as I saw her walking towards the mansion. I hurried after her but she was too fast.

I saw her enter a taxi then I hurried back to the car and zoomed out of the compound. I followed closely till she reached her destination, I gasped as I gave the mansion before me a long stare.

Amanda alighted from the taxi and stormed into her father's mansion after pushing off the guard. I horned relentlessly before I was able to gain access to the compound.

I got out of the car only to be welcomed by the noise inside the Romanus mansion. I ran inside bare-footed breathing profusely.

“How dare you?” Amanda demanded standing before her stepmother.

I don't know what they argued about before I came in but whatever is happening shouldn't be happening. If Amanda threatens Julienne too much, it will cause a disaster.

“Why? Are you afraid now because I know your secret? I wanted to forgive you since I was already married to Gabriel. I will make sure I accompany you three to your grave.” Amanda told Julienne who fumed in anger.

“Really? Who allowed you to enter this mansion?” Julienne brayed.

“The properties are my mother's. Right?” Amanda said harshly.

“What?” Julienne said shockingly.

She's not the only one who is shocked by the revelation, even I am.

Amanda snapped her fingers in front of Julienne's face, “You heard me right. In a matter of a few days, I will throw you out of this mansion.”

Julienne laughed while she held onto her stomach. “An ant is threatening an elephant, I've never heard something like this before. Let me sound you a note of warning, little girl. I am not your mate nor am I someone you can mess with. Be cautious and don't step on a cobra on its tail. If you do, it will be disastrous.”

“Such foolish words come out of a stupid person's mouth. And you…” Amanda stretched her fingers at her stepmother. “... are a typical example of that.”

“How dare you talk to my mother in that tone?” Ava said as she passed by my side.

She carried a white bag and that meant she just arrived from the office or somewhere else.

“Who are you to control me?” Amanda turned back after she turned to see Ava.

Ava rushed towards her mother and rubbed her cheeks before she faced Amanda in a heated back-and-forth argument.

Ava nearly won the argument when she mentioned that she pushed Amanda into the river. Ava laughed and felt happiness despite her evil deeds and that action stirred anger inside me. I advanced towards them quickly to support my wife and give Ava a taste of her medicine but Amanda slapped Ava hard.

Ava's cheek turned red almost immediately while she fell on the floor in a funny position. I blinked my eyes severely because I was surprised that a person could slap a human so hard. I nearly felt pity for Ava in the process.

“No matter how pretty a snake is, one mustn't put it on one's neck because if you do, the consequence will be bad. Ava, you are similar to a snake and to cap it all, you are worse than a snake. You have more venom than a snake has. And I believe you should crawl on the floor just like snakes do.” My vengeful witch preached.

“Amanda!” Marvin's voice boomed in the living room.

We all turned our heads in his direction. He was climbing down the stairs slowly.

He approached Amanda and slapped her on the face.

“Dad… you slapped me,” Amanda said as she placed her right hand on her cheek.
