[Lucy's POV]
"What the hell! Why are you stripping?" my boss angrily yelled, throwing the white bodycon dress I had taken off back at me.
It hit my shoulder, where a fresh wound from the tattoo he made me get was still healing. I couldn’t do anything but agree to his request, as it was one of the conditions he set before our first meeting.
Even now, I still can’t believe I misjudged the situation. I thought my boss would be a spoiled brat or a teenager, but it turns out he's Raizel Blaire Sebastian, the eldest son of Ma'am Christy.
I held my bare chest, staring at his back as he quickly disappeared from sight, leaving me alone in the condo unit Ma'am Christy had arranged for me after paying off my mom’s hospital bills.
Did I misunderstand when she said, "I'll let you meet my son? I hope you'll have a good time?"
I hurriedly got dressed and ran after my new boss, knowing that the contract I signed with his family couldn’t be voided.
"What’s wrong with that guy? He's so short-tempered!" I muttered irritably to myself.
I kept walking until I reached the ground floor of the condo building.
I couldn’t explain the shame I felt as a red limousine’s door opened in front of me. My grumpy boss, Raizel Blaire Sebastian, was staring at me seriously.
It seemed the saying "first impressions last" was true because he was just as sour in person as his reputation suggested. Just his gaze was enough to make my knees shake with fear.
He was, after all, the feared Mafia Lord in our area, the heir to the Sebastian Group of Companies, and the owner of RBS Construction Firm.
And it seemed, in an unexpected twist, he was also the man who would make my life difficult.
I snapped back to reality when I noticed him raise an eyebrow and pat the empty seat beside him. Silently, I entered the car and sat down, making sure there was a noticeable gap between us. I didn’t want to catch his bad attitude—just in case it was contagious.
"Hey, you!" My heart almost burst from anxiety as he suddenly called out to me.
I glanced in his direction and gasped inwardly. I deliberately looked through him because I couldn’t bear to meet his eyes, especially those intimidating ones.
His thick eyebrows were furrowed, and he was glaring at me.
Had I done something wrong? Could he read my thoughts? Impossible!
"Sit on my lap!" he ordered sharply, making my ears ring.
My eyes widened.
"What?!" My voice rose slightly, causing the car to come to a sudden stop.
Crap! I felt like it was the end for me.
Fear was the first thing I felt as guns were pointed at me. I held my breath, trembling, as I watched and felt the people holding the weapons. I closed my eyes and prayed.
"My God! What have I gotten myself into?" I whispered to myself. "I know they're a mafia family, and that's normal for them, but being held at gunpoint—God, I don’t know what to do!"
I swallowed hard and slowly moved toward Raizel. I quickly sat on his lap, his fingers rubbing his temples as he watched my every move.
Then I heard him chuckle before signaling to his men. One by one, they lowered their weapons.
I felt a weight lift off my chest. My heart had been racing in fear just moments ago. I knew one wrong move could’ve cost me my life.
If only I wasn’t paid so little at my previous job—overworked, underpaid, and things got worse when my mom got seriously ill.
But despite the fear I felt, I couldn’t shake the image of Ma'am Christy’s kind, smiling face when she helped my family.
In return, I agreed to serve their family out of gratitude. And that’s when she offered me the job to "tame" her son.
She was so happy when I accepted the offer, saying she’d been searching for someone for a long time, but no one was willing to take the job, no matter how high the salary.
Of course, I, without thinking, jumped at the chance! I accepted it so quickly, assuming I’d just be looking after a child. Little did I know, it was her eldest son I’d have to tame.
"You better be careful, babe. My men don't take surprises lightly."
I swallowed nervously at his words. I still valued my life, and no matter what, I promised I’d return to my family alive, having achieved something in life.
"The tattoo I made you get suits you."
I was startled when I felt his head rest on my shoulder. Even though I couldn’t see it, I knew his eyes were fixed on the tattoo he made me get.
I closed my eyes in frustration as his finger touched the tattoo.
I wanted to scream because of what he was doing. Damn it! That still hurts, you Mafia Lord!
"I can't wait to examine you later."
He grinned, and then, unexpectedly, he kissed my tattoo.
"You're a Mafia Lord's tamer now. Do you have any requests?"
My heart skipped a beat at his words. But I remained silent as fear began to take over my body.
The journey to his mansion felt like it lasted half an hour. We were greeted by a line of servants when we arrived.
The mansion’s grand hall was enormous, with chandeliers hanging in every corner that, according to one of the servants, were made of real crystals. There were two staircases at the end of the floor and several large paintings on the walls.
It was overwhelming to look at everything, and I felt like my neck was going to break from turning to see the furniture and decorations we passed by.
I still couldn’t fully grasp that I would be living here. From a simple, hand-to-mouth existence, I would now be working for a wealthy family like this.
What’s going to happen to my life now? How will I serve him? How can I repay his mom?
Will I also be a servant here, or will I be his personal assistant?
What does a "tamer" even do? Do I have to dance around just to calm him down?
Argh! My mind is going crazy with all the questions swirling in my head.
"Uh... Can I ask you something, Mr. Sebastian?"
There was hesitation in my voice, but I really wanted to know what my role in his life would be.
"What exactly do I have to do from now on?" I mustered the courage to ask, even though I was scared. It’s better to know my place, right?
He stopped walking and faced me, a smile on his lips.
"Nothing," he replied, squinting his eyes.
"Nothing? But your mom will get mad at me. I can’t—"
I stopped when I noticed Raizel's brow furrow.
Did my question trigger him?
Hey! I just want to know what my job is. The word "tamer" is pretty vague, after all.
"Tss. Follow me. I'll show you my room," he said, hands in his pockets as he walked.
I quickly followed him, afraid that if I didn’t, I might end up like what happened earlier in the car.
We hadn’t even entered his room yet, but I could already feel the tension in the air. I could even hear my own footsteps racing with my heartbeat.
What is he going to do to me? Why is he bringing me to his room and not mine?
I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t realize we were now in a secluded part of the mansion.
"Just take me to my room," I said softly.
Raizel suddenly stopped and turned to face me. Was he going to grant my request?
He removed one hand from his pocket and lightly scratched the tip of his nose.
He sighed and smirked. "You'll be staying in my room. Did you forget what I said earlier? I'll examine you tonight."
He took a step closer, and I instinctively stepped back. I backed into a cold wall, my eyes widening as he leaned in.
His free arm blocked me from escaping. He leaned in even closer, leaving only inches between us.
I could feel his deep breaths, and I found myself staring at his lips, which were now dangerously close to mine.
I was about to say something when, without warning, he kissed me passionately. I couldn’t explain it, but his lips seemed hungry and eager as they claimed every inch of mine.
His hands began to caress the back of my neck, slowly moving downward until they stopped at my behind. Without warning, he squeezed, shocking me.
He kept repeating the same action, groping and grabbing my body with an intensity that felt like he was testing whether I could endure whatever he had in store.
Soon, his hands traveled up to my thigh. He squeezed it gently, caressing my skin again.
He was about to touch me there when I heard him groan.
He quickly stopped. The expression in his eyes, locked on me, shifted. They became dark and emotionless...but I could tell he was still holding something back.
In a serious tone, he whispered.
"How do you want me to change your life, Lucy?"
