Emily mustered up her courage and went to work the following day. That day was the day that all of the directors of companies in Golden City were holding their meeting at 9:00 am, and as a secretary, you were responsible for preparing all of the necessary documents, points, and files so that your boss would be able to give their own points of view.
In the case of Emily, she prepared all of the essential paperwork and files, and then she sent them to Scott's desk with the assumption that he would use them. At eight in the morning, Scott left for the meeting room that was located on the eleventh floor of the Golden City skyscraper.

Emily had her desk all setup and was ready to leave for the conference like any other secretary, following their boss. However, she decided to check Scott's desk to see if he had forgotten anything, and to her surprise, she saw that he didn't carry his diary or the document that she had printed for hours in preparation for the meeting. Emily was surprised because she had prepared her desk and was ready to leave.

After that, she grabbed it, hurried to the lift at the company, and found that it was already crowded with people and there was no room for her.
Emily then decided to utilise the stairs in order to go to the 11th level where the conference was being held. She rushed up a thousand stairs in order to get there. Fortunately for her, she made it there in time, and as she crawled over to Scott's desk, she threw the diary and the files on the ground.

She was taken aback when Scott urged her to back off, and she did as she was told in the hopes that by the conclusion of the meeting, he would express his gratitude to her. Scott was shocked to see her.

Regrettably, it was time for her supervisor, Scott, to share his perspective on the situation. Scott started delivering his speech and developing his points, he talked and talked for hours without using any of the documents, and he didn't so much as lay a finger on the files brought to him by Emily, and at the end of his speech all of the directors applauded for him and agreed to his point. Scott didn't use any of the documents that Emily brought to him.

Emily was upset with herself and was talking to herself, saying things like, "Did he cram everything that I wrote or something?? It's unbelievable." Next, Scott saw Emily but chose not to talk to her and instead left the room. Shortly after that, Emily also left the room and attempted to use the lift but found that it was still crowded and therefore was forced to use the stairs, which left her feeling dissatisfied.

Emily sobbed her heart out when she was climbing the stairs. She sobbed uncontrollably as she sat down on one of the stairs leading to the fifth level and cried her eyes out.
When Scott saw that Emily was crying and he was on the 10th floor, he threw his handkerchief to where she was sitting. Immediately, Emily did not notice or verify where the square piece of cloth was coming from. Meanwhile, Scott did not use the lift as well but was secretly stalking her. When he saw that she was crying, he threw his handkerchief to where she was sitting. It was used by her to clean her nose. Yuck!!!

As Emily had finished wiping her nose, she suddenly realised that she had forgotten to bring any handkerchiefs with her. She stood up to see who had dropped the handkerchief, but because she couldn't see anyone, she departed that level as soon as possible.
As Scott, who was playing the role of the villain, emerged from concealment, he looked about but didn't see Emily, and then he fled the floor immediately.

The following day, Emily handed Scott a letter of resignation that she had written and placed on his desk. Nothing was done by Scott—he did not look up to see who had entered his office, he did not read the letter, and he did not look at the contents of the letter. Emily became upset and then left.

Emily exited Scott's office immediately, after which she returned to her workstation, gathered her belongings, and prepared to leave. Emily had done everything in her power to win over the hearts of the company's officials, with the exception of Director Scott, but to no avail. As a result, everyone in the company was inconsolable and crying.

When Scott opened the window on the side of his office, he saw that everyone, including Tony, his sports manager, was unhappy. He won't have Emily there to give him advice, guidance, and counselling. After Emily left the company, the atmosphere throughout the entire organisation resembled a graveyard.

A number of weeks after Emily's departure, the officials at the company became extremely unresponsive to the call, and as a result, the company's profit statistics began to decline on a daily basis.
The unexpected turn of events caused Scott to feel a great deal of rage, so he decided to investigate by looking through some of the official's files. During the course of his enquiry, he discovered that the workers were no longer taking their responsibilities seriously. Scott, still feeling irritated, asked, "Why didn't you finish your work on time, huh?" And if you don't provide an answer that makes sense, I'll terminate your employment right here and now.
