Ch. 7Banquet Dinner

That night, Frisilia dressed so gracefully and elegantly. She didn't want to disappoint her parents, especially her mother. Tonight's dinner party was to be hosted by a close friend of her mother's. Frisilia looked stunning in a long white dress with a slightly open neckline. While her parents started greeting their business associates One by One, Frisilia began to walk around, observing her surroundings.

From a distance, Jason could see a girl who stood out among the crowd that night. Her allure was so strong that Jason couldn't take his eyes off Frisilia. He approached her with a glass of drink to offer.

"Hai, Care for a drink?" Jason greeted, offering the glass he brought earlier.
"Yes, thank you," Frisilia replied shyly.
"May I know your name? It's the first time I've seen you at this gathering.

Before Frisilia could mention her name to Jason, her mother came and called her. Jason smiled as he watched Frisilia leave.

"What were you doing? Mom has been looking for you," said her mother.
"Oh yes, sorry, I was just wandering around," Frisilia replied.
"Come, let me introduce you to Mom's friend."

Maria led Frisilia to meet Jiny, who was in another room, and it turned out that in that room. Her father was already with the Knight family. Jason and Frisilia both looked surprised. Jason smiled, knowing the person getting started to him was the girl he had been eyeing before.

"Hey, what's with the looks between you two? Have you met before?" Jiny teased.
"Yes, we met earlier," Jason replied.
"Is that so? Well, what a coincidence," Maria added.

Then they began to chat and keep talking. Frisilia didn't understand the topics, so she didn't speak much. Jason, noticing this, took action by suddenly taking Frisilia outside.

"Hey, what are you doing? Where are you two going?" Jiny asked as Jason pulled Frisilia's hand. Frisilia could only remain silent, looking at Jason.
"Mom, your conversation is too serious. We young people don't understand what you're talking about. So, we'll talk on our own."
"Oh, okay. Go ahead."
"Yes, go ahead," Maria added.

Jason took Frisilia out of the room. Frisilia was surprised at how Jason understood her desires at that moment. She felt Jason might be similar to her, not too involved in family business matters.

"How's that? Do you feel more comfortable now?"
"Yes, thank you. Don't you also dislike talking about business?"
"Hmm, not really. But I noticed you seemed uncomfortable."
"Yes, I don't understand what they were talking about. I think a child has no obligation to continue the family business."
"Your thoughts are quite different from mine. But I admire you. It's the first time I've met a girl like you," Jason praised.

Jason and Frisilia's conversation flowed effortlessly. They were getting along well. Frisilia even told him about the music school she founded. Unbeknownst to them, the night grew later, and Frisilia had to leave soon. They exchanged phone numbers and business cards before parting.

On her way home, Maria was pleased to see Jason and her daughter's closeness. She couldn't stop talking about it with Frisilia, who smiled in response to her mother's chatter. The meeting held no special significance for Frisilia; she just considered it making a new friend.

Morning is approaching again, coinciding with the weekend. Frisilia was reluctant to go out that day as she had a rather exhausting night. However, her mother asked her to deliver a gift to Jason's house.

"But, Mom, isn't it the weekend? Let me spend my time at home," Frisilia pleaded.
"Are you planning to stay single forever? It's the weekend. Many young people spend their time going on dates. Aren't you envious?" Her mother retorted.

Frisilia fell silent. She did crave a romantic atmosphere in her life. But she didn't prioritize it too much. She felt she hadn't found the right man yet.

"Get ready quickly! Don't daydream again," her mother urged.
"Yes, Mom."

Frisilia eventually complied with her mother's request. Not because she wanted to meet and spend time with Jason. But because she didn't want to disappoint her mother. Frisilia left home to visit Jason's house.

Upon arriving at Jason's house, Frisilia was greeted by several household servants. She has been led to the magnificent living room. She thought she wouldn't spend much time there, but to her surprise. It was Jason who came, not his mother. Frisilia was quite surprised because she thought Jason might not be at home. She sighed inwardly. Frisilia wasn't sensitive enough to understand her mother's intention of matchmaking her with Jason.

"Hi," Jason greeted, smiling as he approached Frisilia.
"Hi. I thought you weren't home," she replied.
"Are you looking for me?" Jason asked eagerly.
"Of course not. Is your mom here? I brought a gift from my mom," Frisilia tried to explain the purpose of her visit.
Then Jiny came to meet them both. After delivering her mother's order, Frisilia excused herself. However, Jiny asked Jason to escort her. Frisilia started to feel uncomfortable, so she tried to refuse politely.

"N-No need, Auntie, I can drive myself," Frisilia said.
"Then let Jason drive. He can take a taxi back home later," Jiny insisted.
"Wouldn't that be inconvenient?"
"Never mind, don't be shy. And also, give my regards to your mom," Jiny concluded.
"Thank you, Auntie," Frisilia replied. "Sorry for taking up your time," she added to Jason.
"It's okay," Jason replied.

Finally, Jason escorted Frisilia home. Jason suggested going to the mall, but Frisilia declined because she was tired. For Frisilia, the weekend was the best time to rest and relax at home. Jason didn't insist. After escorting Frisilia, Jason said goodbye because he could see that Frisilia seemed tired. Frisilia thanked him. It turned out to be Maria knew about Jason's visit, so she hurriedly went out to meet him.

Frisilia's hope of relaxing and spending her weekend alone vanished. Maria immediately invited Jason to have lunch together. Jason couldn't refuse at all, and Frisilia once again could only sigh. Maria warmly welcomed Jason's arrival; she asked Frisilia to accompany Jason for a chat while she prepared lunch.

"Come on, Jason, don't be shy. Frisilia, keep Jason company for a while. I'll prepare lunch," Maria said.
"Alright, Mom," Frisilia replied reluctantly.

Jason felt like Frisilia didn't want to talk to him. However, he couldn't refuse Frisilia's mother's request. Jason remained silent while Frisilia kept playing with her phone. Maria had been observing them. And felt that Frisilia's behavior was offending Jason.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Maria said as she took her daughter's phone.
"Excuse me, That is my phone!" Frisilia looked panicked when her phone was stolen away from her hands. Jason just remained silent, suppressing his laughter.
"Hush! Be quiet! I'll borrow your phone. So, talk to Jason. Understand?" Maria demanded firmly to her daughter, her only child.

Frisilia had no choice but to comply with her mother's request. She felt extremely awkward. She didn't know what conversation she could have with Jason. She had no topic in mind. Both Frisilia and Jason looked uncomfortable. Maria, who had been watching them, smiled to herself, seeing the behavior of the young couple in front of her at that moment.
