Bastian leaned over to see Geraldo coming, Yes. The old man was Axel's biological grandfather. "Have a seat, Mr. Geraldo," Bastian said with a friendly smile.
"Thank you." The old man threw his butt on the sofa.
"Geraldo?!" muttered Axel softly as he frowned.
"Yes, I'm your grandfather," he greeted with a happy smile.
The old man immediately approached Axel and hugged him tightly, "My poor grandson! I finally found you too. Nothing can separate us as this birthmark helped me to find you."
A gentle hug made Axel feel calm as if the burden in his life was just wiped out. "Is this true? I'm the grandson of a conglomerate, it's impossible. They must have misunderstood," he said uncertainly.
Initially, Axel thought the blue birthmark was a disease because it was blue, not black or brown, but he often asked the doctor about it, and the doctor still said it was not a disease. "If this birthmark is a family mark then it brings good luck, doesn't it?" he said to himself.
"Are you sure that I'm your grandson?" asked Axel wanting to make sure that the man wouldn't guess wrong.
Seeing the old man nodding and being so confident, Axel could only swallow his saliva repeatedly while shaking his head because he did not think that the man was his grandfather. It was beyond him, how could a poor man who lived alone now have a family wasn't it awkward for him? Plus he was the grandson of the owner of the famous Geraldo Group.
"Is it possible that because of this birthmark, you guys think I'm your grandson?" asked Axel wanting to convince once again.
"Yes, I believe you are my grandson." With a very old hand touching Axel's face, "Who has the heart to do this to you, they must be punished!" The old man was furious at the sight of his grandson's battered condition.
"Bastian, find out who dared to hurt my grandson," he pleaded while clenching his fingers in annoyance. "How dare he!" He was still angry.
After his grandfather's arrival, Axel's condition gradually improved, and he was even able to get out of bed. Axel chose to remain silent to his grandfather about who had tortured him. Elena was still his wife after all. "Grandpa, you can't know about this. I'd rather keep quiet! It's all for Elena's sake."
At the same hospital, Axel accidentally met Elena. Suddenly it made Elena surprised "Why is Axel free," she thought to herself.
Elena deliberately made Axel a scapegoat and paid off the police to keep Axel in jail longer. "Am I not seeing things wrong?" she muttered, rubbing her eyes to make sure what she was seeing was real.
Elena had planned from the beginning that if her father realized, he could tell her bad things about Axel. Having confirmed that it was her husband, without thinking anymore, Elena called the hospital security to ask them to call the police because prisoners were roaming the hospital.
"Security, respond to the murderer! Don't let a prisoner roam free."
"Yes, ma'am," the security guard replied, walking side by side with Elena.
Elena also said that Axel might harm her father. However, the longer they walked near the murderer Elena mentioned earlier the security stopped their steps and no one dared to kick Axel out because they remembered that Axel was a VIP patient guaranteed by Mr. Geraldo.
"Why are you guys doing nothing? Let's go get the killer," Elena shouted in annoyance because security didn't listen to her.
"I'm sorry ma'am, we can't arrest Mr. Axel," he replied downcast.
"Why? You should be able to help the police." Elena was so upset, she didn't expect security to be that afraid to kick Axel out. "Do you want to be fired by the owner of this hospital for housing a murder suspect?"
"We're afraid that if we kick him out, we'll get fired."
"What do you mean?" asked Elena irritably.
The woman walked up to Axel who was about to enter his father's infirmary, but Elena's hand suddenly pushed Axel's body until the man who had not fully recovered almost fell he rested on the wall so he was able to stand upright.
"What do you want to do? Huh," Elena asked with an unhappy look.
"I just wanted to see how Dad was doing," he replied innocently.
Elena girded her loins, "I won't let you! Oh, I know why you're so eager to see my father because you want to ask for the inheritance rights back, right?"
"It's not like that, El. I won't touch the issue of inheritance rights or father's property but I'm just curious why did you suddenly get into an accident and coma like this?" asked Axel very curious to see the condition of his father-in-law even though before the unfortunate incident, Charles was fine.
"You don't need to know what happened to my father! He now wants to rest and you better get out of my sight. You human trash." Elena was annoyed with Axel's inquisitive attitude.
"No, El. Let me see him for just five minutes. Please, El!" she pleaded.
However, the stubborn Elena was not easily swayed and instead pushed Axel's body until the man fell to the floor but someone's hand saved him from the cold floor. "Are you okay?" asked a man in a white coat looking at Axel.
"Yes, doc. I'm fine."
"You'd better go back to your room because your condition hasn't fully improved yet," the doctor pleaded as he guided Axel to his ward.
Before the doctor left the room, Axel questioned the doctor about Charles' condition. "Can Mr. Charles recover, Doc?"
"He can, but it will take a long time because he has a hemorrhage in his cerebellum."
Hearing the doctor's explanation made Axel sigh heavily, he suspected that the accident experienced by his father-in-law was very unreasonable. As far as Axel knew, his father-in-law always went everywhere with his driver, but how could he have a single accident?
Axel was curious about it when he returned to Charles' room and coincidentally at that time, Elena was not there the man could sneak into Charles' room.
His footsteps were shaky to find his father-in-law lying weak with all the medical equipment on his body, "Dad, I'm coming," he whispered so sadly as he grabbed his father-in-law's hand and held it strongly. Axel told him what had happened.
However, he stood up when he heard the door creak. Axel was stunned to see Elena standing in the doorway with such an angry look on her face that her eyeballs were about to pop out of her eyelids.
"You, how dare you enter without my permission!"
Elena grabbed Axel's hand and shoved him away so viciously that Axel fell for the second time.
"You ignorant trash man! Do you want my father to die soon so you can be happy?"
"No, El. I just want to see how dad is doing," he replied as he was about to get up because his body had fallen.
I don't know why Axel found it so hard to get up until someone's helping hand helped the blue-eyed man up. "Are you okay?" asked the handsome man with clear glasses.
"Yes, I'm fine."
Seeing the man who helped Axel was so polite, it made Elena frown and wonder little in her heart. Why could anyone be so polite to Axel? That made Elena immediately comment, "Do you know Axel?"
"Of course, I know him," the man replied briefly.
Bastian took Axel back to his room, "Mr. Geraldo has taken care of your discharge papers. He wants you to go home and be treated at home, young sir."
Axel nodded in agreement, it was his wish to go home soon and be able to breathe free air. Although he had not recovered yet, his being in the hospital would make him sick and bored.
Before leaving the hospital, Axel was greeted by doctors and nurses. The sound of the crowd was heard in the ears of Elena who had just come out of the doctor's room. It made Elena curious until she reached the crowd and found Axel there. Elena looked strange and began to ask one of the nurses there. Elena was surprised to hear the nurse's explanation because Axel knew Geraldo, the number one businessman in Washington, even though Axel was just a poor man, an orphan.
"When did Axel become so famous that even the conglomerate businessman in this country knows him? I wonder how he got out of prison?" she wondered. Wanting to get rid of her curiosity, Elena pursued Axel.
"What is your relationship with Mr. Geraldo?" Elena asked curiously.
