Ch. 1A Kindness

On a dimly lit street corner, the young woman wearing the dress held a hard and cold dry bun, her cheeks round. Luckily, she was beautiful and did not look ugly despite her unkempt appearance. It will only make people sympathize with her bitterness and depression.

Maybe God did not think she was shy enough. At this time, it suddenly started to rain. The young woman quickly shrunk back under the shelter's roof and hastily stuffed half of the bread into her mouth. Drops of water fell down her cheeks. It was unknown whether it was rain, sweat, or tears that she could not hold back.

"Okay, add two more camera shots, and then we'll be done!"

As the director screams to stop, the sprinklers are turned off, and the crew assistant quickly walks over to the already wet actress.

"Miss Adams, get the bread out of your mouth. It is from the garbage bag–" The crew assistant had not finished speaking when he saw Scarlett's mouth move, and she swallowed the crusty bread the crew had prepared.

The assistant stood stiffly. Their crew staff may need improvement, but they can still afford lunch boxes.
"Thank you, I am fine." Scarlett stood still and took the warm, hot water the crew assistant had given her. She took two gulps and waited for the stylist to correct her appearance so there were no mistakes while filming.

"You are welcome." The assistant laughed hollowly before taking the cup from Scarlett's hand and retreating to the director's side.

The director sits on a bench with his feet on his thighs, holding a plastic fan in his right hand.

"Scarlett just had a great time. Director Anderson, should I give her fried chicken thighs tomorrow afternoon?" The assistant director sat next to Director Anderson, looking at the piece he had just shot.

Director Anderson touched his belly fat and laughed, "What's so good about fried chicken thighs? Young people should have better food to contribute more to the country's future."

"You're too stiff." The assistant director looked around and whispered in Director Anderson's ear, "The scene played by Kristin Kreuk will be filmed. She hasn't finished with her makeup?"

Director Anderson was fanning himself before replying, "Wait a minute before giving her a reminder."
Investors regulate the actress and cannot be touched on.

Kristin Kreuk has little fame in entertainment circles. Initially, the crew had established her as the number one woman, and the contract had even been signed. Unexpectedly, they had just started shooting when she said she did not want to play the first female protagonist. She wanted to try to be the number two female protagonist.

Isn't she a beautiful, rich, and gentle person obsessed with the male protagonist?

This type of character is standard for female leads in other youth dramas, but their crew is different from the others, wanting to bring out a unique character. Other plays have a poor man and a queen, while theirs has a poor daughter and a wealthy son.

The authoritative, wealthy male protagonist and the beautiful, hard-working, persistent female protagonist are perfect.

Unfortunately, Director Anderson is no longer satisfied with the role setting. Kristin not only wanted to play the role of the second female protagonist, but she also appointed the original second female protagonist, Scarlett, to play the role of the first female protagonist.

Director Anderson is a stubborn director. So, as soon as he heard Kristin ask her father to add another million dollars to the investment, he immediately agreed.

In the entertainment circle, actresses often ask their connections to give them money to improve their roles in films or dramas. Rarely does an actress provide money to reduce their role. Sure enough, he had been in the circle for a long time, and things were bizarre. As a director, the most important thing is to have an open mind. No matter Kristin's intentions, she donated to the crew.

After filming, Scarlett dried the water on her face and found that many staff did not have good expressions. She looked around and did not see Kristin's figure. The male protagonist is sitting in his chair and playing with his cell phone and has an expression that looks like, 'It has nothing to do with me.'

Scarlett shook the water off her dress and wrapped herself in a dry towel. Luckily, it was a drama that took on a winter theme, but it was filmed in the summer, not the other way around, or she would freeze at this point.

She might be the first female lead, but she was still the crew's newcomer with the lowest popularity. Scarlett's mood was very stable when she saw such a thing. After all, she would still receive money for the drama.

"Miss Adams, you sit down and rest for a while. Miss Kreuk will be here soon."

The crew assistant looked at Scarlett sympathetically. The next scene is the conflict between Kristin and Scarlett. Scarlett was sitting while waiting for Kristin to come and film the scene. Moreover, she looks intimidating.

Their crew and the first female lead were poor, too. Scarlett even lives a more frugal life than the crew. She had no assistants around, and only one manager came to see her daily.

Tonight, they filmed the night scene for nearly eight hours. To film the excellent effect, Scarlett purposely did not eat dinner. From noon until now, she has only eaten steamed and dry bread, used to make the drama.

Facing the expression of the crew assistant saying, 'Even though I sympathize with you, I cannot do anything about it.' Scarlett just lay down on the chair. She wrapped herself in the blanket and closed her eyes.

After almost ten minutes of lying down, she heard the staff greeting someone.
"Miss Kreuk is here."
"Miss Kreuk, good night."

"Miss Kreuk, this side has spilled water, and the floor is slippery. Please be careful when walking."

Hearing that, Scarlett opened her eyes and met Kristin's gaze. Kristin's steps paused for a moment before she lifted her chin proudly and walked past Scarlett.

Scarlett raised her eyebrows and did not feel insulted by Kristin's attitude. Since the beginning of filming, Kristin rarely looked at her. Even if she looked, there was a hint of pity and contempt in the man's eyes. Scarlett suspects the fact that she is poor is known to the entire crew.

"Scarlett, get ready. We're shooting the next scene in fifteen minutes." Director Anderson yawned briefly and said to Scarlett.

Scarlett dropped the blanket and went in front of the camera. She let the makeup artist fix her makeup while waiting for the stunt double so Kristin's character could find the correct position.

Since filming began, Kristin has stopped filming for various reasons. It was already two in the morning when they finished all the scenes.

Scarlett returned to the dressing room to remove her makeup and heard the makeup assistant comment negatively about Kristin in a low voice. However, as soon as Kristin's assistant brought snacks for midnight into the shooting room, everyone there smiled, and the unpleasantness disappeared.

"Miss Adams, Sister Kristin heard that you haven't eaten since morning, so she asked me to prepare more food for you." The assistant handed Scarlett a large food container and smiled, "After you finish eating, go and rest early."

"Thank you." Scarlett took the food container and opened the lid to find a glass of milk tea, two slices of black forest cake, and a delicious roast. She took a deep breath to smell the delicious midnight snack and sipped her milk tea.

Scarlett never complains about Kristin keeping her up all night filming. Kristin may like to be late, act like a great person, and act indifferently, but she is generous.

Kristin would provide midnight snacks daily if she were on the crew.

The makeup artist who removed Scarlett's makeup looked at the box's contents and hesitated. In particular, she saw Scarlett drinking milk tea and could not help but sigh.
'Kristin, that heartless man feeds you to make you fat!'
