“I already hate this man for farting the whole place filth. Now I have to put up with vomiting?” Bina was red with rage.
She woke up to a bloated stomach and suddenly the rumbling in her belly increased, she jerked off the bed and made her way to the toilet, lowered her head into the toilet bowl and let it all out. Every single thing in her belly made its way out at once except her intestines.
Bina exhaled deeply, "what was that?" She put on the tap and washed her face, including rinsing her mouth.
As she raised her head and saw her face on the mirror in front of her, she was surprised,
"Huh? What am I doing here? I know I had fun with my friends, but how come I am not with them?"
Bina stood speechless for a while staring at it, trying to remember how it came about. She heard snores and went back to the room only to see a man about six feet five tall with dark hair snoring and farting. She felt violated.
"Oh my goodness!" She yelled, placing her right hand on her forehead. The whole room was stuffy, and she was choking already. She rushed and increased the air conditioner and walked up to him.
"Hey! Wake up!" She pulled out the duvet and noticed he was naked. She closed her eyes and turned and faced the other side, "can you please go and empty your bowels and stop contaminating the air?"
He helped himself to the toilet, went out, and they went to a staring contest. They stared at each other for a while when she broke the silence,
“I hope you washed those hands of yours?” she inquired, gazing at his hand which had no sign of wetness. It was still as dry as it was when he woke up.
Looking further, it was a ring identical to hers.
“Sweetheart, your face overwhelms me each time I cast a sight on it. Last night was our first night together, and I totally enjoyed every moment.” he confessed, moving closer to her. Bina stood up from the chair, not wanting him to touch her, and moved further away from him.
“You don't know me?” he asked. His face was blank, screaming confusion. Mere looking at him, her attitude was surprising, but he pushed further.
“Darling, it's me, your love.”
“Who is your love Mr man”? She asked, moving backwards while he came closer.
“We had our marital vows yesterday before bed. You are my wife, though not legally wedded in court, but,”
“If this is a dream you had better start waking up,” she thundered, aiming for her belongings which were scattered in the room. They circled the room, as he made advances at her. She moved further, increasing her voice at every exchange to alert the neighbors in case he tried coming closer or forcefully.
Bina picked them up little by little and stormed out of the room. She made her way to the airport, searched for her phone to call her friend, Brenda, but did not see it. She probably forgot it inside the room where she had an encounter with that jerk.
Bina booked her flight back to New York.
Previous Day
“Surprise,” Brenda shouts in excitement.
“You not only woke me from sleep, you shocked me with that outburst,” Bina protested.
“Pack your bags' babe, Vegas it is!”
“Vegas? What's happening in Vegas?”
“Well, why not just come with me. When we get there you see what it is.”
She thought for a little bit, trying to figure out correctly what it could be. Brenda had been her friend for years, right from high school to college.
“Vegas is such a wild place for me to go just like that without knowing what I'm going for,” she complained skeptically.
“Don't you trust me again?”
“I do, girl, you know I do,” she responded without hesitancy.
“Are you coming with me then?”
Bina delayed for a while because she was in thought. She didn't know the perfect answer to that. A part of her wanted to know what it was, a part was just not interested. She was in a dilemma for a while.
“Hello, hello,” the line started breaking and she hung up.
Bina didn't reach out to her, but she finally agreed to go. She called her mother to inform them.
“Mum, I will be going to Vegas tomorrow. Is dad there?”
“Yes,” she answered. She could already hear his loud voice from the phone.
“Love, you are going to Vegas for what?”
“Brenda is hosting something. I don't know what it is, but I know it will be fun. She refused to tell me.”
“Oh, yeah. Brenda is certainly full of surprises. The type of person to always have around.”
“Yes, daddy. I will have fun and send you pictures.”
“I don't want you going,” my mother objected.
“Well, Dad has approved, so I will be going. Mum wished me well." They both laughed at each other while she told her mother to give the phone back to her father.
He suggested good places she could visit in Vegas and ended it with, “Remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.”
“It won't stay in Vegas, I will bring you stories about the trip.”
“Okay, bye”, Bina hung up her phone and began her preparations. Nothing lightens her up more than traveling. It's one of her hobbies.
Two days later. Bina packed her bags and her travel essentials. She wore her signature clothes. Tee shirt with baggy jean trousers and all-star sneakers. She had no makeup on, just moisturizer and sunscreen.
She prayed as she always does.
She ordered a cab to convey her to the airport, their meeting place, before they took the flight.
At the airport, Brenda was all dressed in shimmery pink.
“Girl, you are blinding my eyes,” she swore, placing her hand against her face.
“You already know. I always show up and show up
“Of course, so what are we going to Vegas for?
