Ch. 27MARK AND DIANA SHOOTING PRACTICE

Mark made his way to Diana's room, knocking softly on the door before entering. The room was tidy and elegant, with a few personal touches that reflected Diana's personality. Mark's eyes scanned the room, taking in the familiar surroundings.
He walked over to the closet, where he knew Diana kept the cleaning tools. He opened the door and found the vacuum cleaner, mop, and broom neatly stored away. Mark smiled to himself, thinking that Diana's organizational skills were impressive.
As he gathered the cleaning tools, Mark noticed a few personal items that caught his attention. There was a photo of Diana and her mother on the dresser, and a small jewelry box with a delicate silver necklace inside. Mark felt a pang of affection for Diana, seeing these intimate glimpses into her life.
With the cleaning tools in hand, Mark closed the closet door and turned to leave. He noticed a piece of paper on the bedside table, with a note scribbled in Diana's handwriting. It was a reminder to herself to call her father, Jefferson Hendricks. Mark's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with concerns about Diana's safety. He folded the note and put it in his pocket, deciding to talk to Diana about it later.
Mark and Diana decided to go for shooting practice in the mansion's private range. Mark wanted to teach Diana self-defense skills, and she was eager to learn.
Mark wore a pair of dark green cargo pants, a black fitted T-shirt, and a pair of sturdy brown boots. His outfit was practical and comfortable, suitable for an afternoon of shooting practice. He also wore a black baseball cap to shield his eyes from the sun.
Diana, on the other hand, wore a pair of fitted black leggings, a white tank top, and a pair of sleek black sneakers. Her outfit was sporty and chic, accentuating her toned physique. She had her hair tied back in a ponytail, revealing her striking features and bright blue eyes. She wore a pair of silver earrings shaped like bullets, adding a touch of whimsy to her outfit.
Both Mark and Diana wore matching black shooting gloves to protect their hands while handling the firearms. They looked focused and determined, ready to take on the shooting range with skill and precision.
As they stood side by side, Mark showed Diana how to hold the gun, aim, and fire. Diana was a quick learner, and her shots soon hit the target with precision.
Mark was impressed. "You're a natural!"
Diana smiled, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Thanks to you, Mark. You're a great teacher."
As they practiced, Mark couldn't help but notice how close they stood, their arms touching, their hands guiding each other. The tension between them was palpable, but they both focused on the task at hand.
After a few hours, they took a break, sitting down on a bench to rest and rehydrate. Mark turned to Diana, his eyes serious.
"Diana, I want you to be careful. Larry Johnson and your father are still out there, and we don't know what they're planning."
Diana nodded, her expression determined. "I can take care of myself, Mark. But I appreciate your concern."
Mark's eyes softened. "I know you're strong, Diana. But I want to protect you. You're...important to me."
Diana's heart skipped a beat at his words. She knew exactly what he meant. "I'm important to you too, Mark."
Their eyes locked, the air thick with unspoken feelings. Then, without another word, Mark leaned in and kissed her, the tension between them finally released.
Mark and Diana were still at the shooting practice range, taking a break and discussing their technique. Emma, Mark's assistant, approached them, wearing a radio earpiece and holding a tablet.
"Mark, Diana, I've received a message from the mansion. Lunch is ready, and Mrs. White requests your presence," Emma announced, her professional tone a contrast to the casual atmosphere of the shooting range.
Mark nodded, holstering his gun. "Thanks, Emma. We'll head back now."
Diana smiled, stretching her arms. "I'm starving! Let's go."
Emma fell into step beside them, her eyes scanning the surroundings as they walked back to the mansion. "Mark, I've also received a report from our security team. There's been some suspicious activity near the perimeter fence. I'll send you the details."
Mark's expression turned serious, his mind already shifting to security mode. "Thanks, Emma. Keep me updated."
As they approached the mansion, the aroma of food wafted out, mingling with the scent of freshly cut grass. Mark, Diana, and Emma entered the dining room, where a delicious spread awaited them...
As they were eating, Bernard snuck into Mark's room, his eyes scanning the space for anything valuable or incriminating. His gaze landed on a diary lying open on Mark's table, as if waiting for him.
Bernard's curiosity got the better of him, and he crept closer to investigate. The diary belonged to Mark, and as Bernard flipped through the pages, he discovered a wealth of information.
His eyes widened as he read about Mark's suspicions regarding Larry Johnson and Jefferson Hendricks. Bernard's heart raced, realizing the diary could be the key to unlocking a treasure trove of secrets.
As he delved deeper into the diary, Bernard came across a passage about Mark's growing feelings for Diana. Bernard's eyes sparkled with intrigue, knowing this information could be used to his advantage.
Just as Bernard was about to leave with the diary, he heard a noise coming from the hallway. He quickly hid behind the curtains, holding his breath as Emma walked into the room.
"Mark, I've brought you some fresh water," Emma announced, placing a pitcher on the table.
Bernard held still, hoping Emma wouldn't notice the diary's absence. After a few moments, Emma left, and Bernard let out a sigh of relief.
He carefully took a photo of the diary's pages with his phone, making sure to capture every detail. Then, he replaced the diary, making it look like he had never touched it.
With the valuable information stored on his phone, Bernard snuck out of the room, his mind racing with possibilities. He knew exactly who would pay top dollar for this intel – Larry Johnson.
