"I want a prenup!"
Jonas was quite surprised by the sentence that the woman in front of him had just uttered.
Even so, he still managed to control himself so as not to make his expression too obvious.
Jonas always tried to look calm in front of others, just so that the other person could not guess his thoughts. This is also what he uses in running his business. So that his business competitors do not easily know what he is feeling and planning. So far this method has been very effective. Especially if he does it to a woman.
The problem was, the woman in front of him was a little different. Several times Jonas had counted himself close to losing control because of her attitude.
"Prenuptial agreement?" Jonas asked for confirmation.
Just look at how this woman is asking for a prenuptial agreement. Jonas had never thought of such a sentence.
Claire nodded vigorously. "Yes. We have to!" she said with emphasis.
Jonas took a deep breath.
He paused for a moment to think about her words. Personally, Jonas did not accept the arranged marriage although he did not reject it either, but a prenuptial agreement?
Jonas paused long enough to consider before he finally said, "Okay." He thought there was nothing wrong with a prenuptial agreement, as long as the woman's request was within reasonable limits. Maybe he would grant it.
"What kind of agreement do you want?"
Claire smiled happily at that, but wait, she shouldn't be too happy and expect too much because, based on yesterday's experience, her boss seemed to be very fond of hoisting people up high and then slamming them down. Ara had to be sure first before she was disappointed again. "Are you sure? Will you accept a prenuptial agreement with me?
"Yes," Jonas replied briefly.
Now Claire widened her smile in relief. She had nothing to worry about. "Well, I'd like it if ...."
Not even finished with her sentence, Claire was already surprised by Jonas' sudden movement. Claire reflexively stood up as well.
"You can make it later. We're already late," said Jonas who had tidied up his desk and moved away.
Claire was confused, not because Jonas suddenly stood up, but because his words sounded ambiguous.
"Us?"
"Let's go." The man pulled Claire's hand to get out of there. However, two steps before reaching the door, Claire pulled his hand back, causing Jonas to stop and stare at her.
"Tell me, where are we going?" asked Claire who was still confused. Besides, she also didn't want to shock the office people with her boss's behavior just now.
"My mom wants to see you," Jonas replied. Making Claire quite surprised.
Claire swallowed her saliva heavily. "Your mom?" she asked again. "What does your mom want to see me for?"
"We're getting married; of course, my mother wants to get to know her future son-in-law better," replied the man with a firm jaw. "You just don't know," Jonas grumbled afterward.
Claire pursed her lips at Jonas' grumbling.
"Come on," Jonas invited her again. His hand was about to take Claire's back. However, she quickly raised her hand to avoid him.
Jonas turned his head.
"We're not crossing the street, sir. So there's no need to hold hands," Claire said and stepped out of the room first.
Jonas was dumbfounded.
****
At first, Claire thought that Jonas' mother was a socialite woman who looked haughty and arrogant. Especially considering Mahendra's family, it wouldn't have been wrong for her to think that.
In reality, everything in her mind was not true at all, not even close.
Regina, Jonas' mother, asked Claire to call her that. The middle-aged woman, who still looked very beautiful, was very modest and gentle. Not only was her demeanor gentle, but her face was also very soft and warm. Her motherly demeanor made Claire feel comfortable talking to her, even though it was the first time they met.
Regina herself also prepared a special meal to welcome Claire. How could Claire not be impressed if she was treated like that?
The horrible image of a haughty and arrogant socialite mistress was blown away with Regina's warm welcome. Claire likes her, but that doesn't mean she likes her son.
Just look at the obvious difference between mother and son. Jonas, who was sitting across the table in front of Claire, was eating in silence. If she noticed, he rarely showed a smile, even when his mother made a little joke, Jonas still kept his straight face. His sense of humor was very low, or maybe he had no sense of humor.
What a boring man.
Not Claire's ideal husband-to-be.
Claire was sure that she wouldn't be able to last long in a relationship with that man. At least, she got an idea as an additional point in her prenuptial agreement later.
"I can't wait to get you married," Regina said enthusiastically.
Claire just smiled in response. She glanced at Jonas, who looked calm there.
"I can't wait to have a grandchild either."
What?!
Like a couple, Jonas and Claire choked simultaneously when they heard Regina's hopeful words.
The middle-aged woman looked at Claire and Jonas in confusion. "Oh my, you guys are so good together. It's like you're the same, even coughing together like that." Regina smiled amusedly.
While the two human beings were busy soothing their throats respectively.

"I still want to talk more with Claire," complained Regina who objected when Claire excused herself to go home.
They walked hand in hand towards the yard.
"It's late afternoon now, Mom. Aren't you going to meet again tomorrow?"
"Yes, Claire, tomorrow we'll meet at the boutique. Let Jonas drive you."
"Sure."
After that, Claire said goodbye and entered Jonas' car to take her home.
On the road, Jonas was mostly silent. Claire herself didn't know how to start the conversation. It felt too awkward when the boss she had always respected suddenly became her future husband.
Speaking of superiors and subordinates, Claire remembered something she had to make sure of.
"Sir," she called out.
"Hmm?"
"If we get married, will I still be allowed to work at your company?"
"You want it that way?"
"Yes. I can't just stay at home. Besides, I'm used to and like the job. So, please don't take away something I love."
Jonas raised one eyebrow. Claire's sentence just now sounded very ambiguous. Jonas caught another meaning in that sentence.
"We'll talk about it later," Jonas said.
Claire was just about to contradict him before she caught sight of a very recognizable white car parked in front of her gate.
It was Hans. Claire looked panicked. Especially when the car driven by Jonas started to slow down to pull over.
