"Is today really the end for me? Hmm... Who doesn't know me, I certainly won't let that happen."
Gerald started his car and drove away from the house, as he tried to call Sandra repeatedly on the way, unfortunately, still no connection. "My number is still blocked!"
He tossed his phone onto the car seat, then accelerated to speed up his car to find Sandra. "It's already lunchtime, she must be having lunch now."
In his car, Gerald couldn't focus on his driving, his feelings fluctuated between emotions and anger. Half an hour later, Gerald arrived in front of the office.
It wasn't the first time Gerald had visited Sandra's office, but lately, because his girlfriend often traveled abroad, he rarely came to the company.
As he entered the main door, he noticed that every corner of the room had changed a lot, and Gerald just found out that the facilities had been equipped with top-notch security systems.
As expected, a security guard met him at the entrance. He followed instructions and mentioned Sandra's name.
"Yes, I am her boyfriend." Perhaps some people in the office were still unaware of Gerald's issues with Sandra, so the security guard easily allowed him to enter.
Meanwhile, in her office, Sandra was sitting back on her sofa in a relaxed position, crossing her legs, and she looked very pale.
Although her office hours had just ended, she wasn’t interested in going to the cafeteria and preferred to read a book. It was simply because she enjoyed spending her free time reading.
Suddenly, a knock on the door resounded, Sandra looked up as the door opened. "Sandra, are you hiding here for something?"
Her eyes widened as she saw who came in. "Gerald?"
Sandra's surprise prompted Gerald to ask with raised eyebrows. "Why? Don't you like to see me here?"
As Sandra closed her book with a soft sigh, she replied, "I'm not hiding, why are you here?"
Gerald gave his characteristic smile. "I greatly appreciate your answer. I came to ask for your help, but we should talk elsewhere. I'll take you out for delicious steak."
Sandra shook her head, but her eyes glanced disapprovingly at Gerald. "No need to bother, just say what you want, the sooner the better."
Hearing her cold words, Gerald moved closer to her. "What's wrong with you? Is there something bothering you?" He realized that she was annoyed seeing him.
"Do you still need to ask me something else? I'm fine now, so you can leave, I'm fed up with seeing you." Sandra said, turning her face away, trying to contain the mounting emotions in her mind.
Of course, Gerald wouldn't immediately comply with her words, his gaze clearly holding something. "Oh, come on, tell me if something is weighing on your mind. Hmm?" They got closer, and Gerald even dared to touch Sandra's face.
Plakk!!
Suddenly, Sandra slapped him, causing the man to stagger back.
Sandra's gaze harbored deep hatred, Gerald knew she had thought a thousand times before slapping him. "Sandra, you..."
"W-WHAT??? Still not satisfied after doing that behind my back? Do you think I can accept you back after seeing all of that?" Sandra erupted with all her emotions.
She didn't want her tears to fall again like the last time. "You leave my office, this is the last time we meet. Don't ever come back!"
"Sandra, don't just blame me. Your parents have cut ties with my family, what about their lives after this? Do you even care?" Gerald took a deep breath.
"What are you complaining about what I did? While you're always away, there are many women who come near me. And you're not by my side..." Gerald tried to defend himself from his wrongdoing.
"W-What? So this is all my fault?" Sandra couldn't believe she was speaking with a disappointed tone.
"Yes, but I'm asking for your understanding now, do you agree to make amends, my dear?" Gerald tried to charm Sandra.
"It's impossible, I don't want to see your face again, now please leave because our relationship ended that day too..." Sandra opened the door for Gerald to exit.
Footsteps were heard, and then there was silence for a moment, after that the door opened. Simon's tall and sturdy figure appeared at the door. Even his broad shoulders, wrapped in a white shirt with rolled-up sleeves, showed his arm muscles. "Ah, Sandra. Sorry, I'm a bit late, earlier I..." His words halted when he saw the man who was smiling crookedly at him.
"You..." Simon squinted his eyes, his emotions boiling seeing him.
"Hey, you, the poor man, right? It's so lucky we meet again, what are you doing here? Want to be a sycophant in a wealthy family?" Gerald raised an eyebrow.
"Don't get involved in my business, Simon is my personal assistant now," Sandra said firmly, intervening to prevent Gerald from bothering her.
"Oh, are you showing off? No wonder you look indifferent and don't care about me anymore, all because of him? Huh! Your taste is really bad, Sandra..."
Bukk! Suddenly Simon's fist flew right into his face. "Simon, stop! Don't do this in the office if you don't want to attract attention here." Sandra was hysterical as she saw a different side of Simon.
Feeling defended by Sandra, Gerald smirked. "See, you're still defending me, Sandra, that means you still care and love me, right?"
So confident!
Simon glared at him, as much as he wanted to respond, Sandra's voice was heard first.
"Are you here to say that? Do you think I'm willing? Haven't my parents updated you? Oh, or do I need to show you this?" Sandra took her phone and played a live video from it.
Gerald watched nonchalantly, but his eyes widened upon seeing something that he thought might have affected his birth father.
"What have you done to them?" Gerald's face turned anxious.
Sandra grinned widely, quite satisfied with that, "Why? Are you afraid that I'll expose your big secret and that of your family? Leave now, before I call security to have you dragged out!"
Gerald looked with clenched fists, it was truly difficult to say anything else to her. He finally complied with Sandra as if he were bewitched by words that couldn't be refused.
Even if Gerald refused, it would be useless, time would be wasted just for that. Suddenly Simon commented on Gerald. "Mr. Gerald, it seems there is no need to clench your fists so tight."
Gerald immediately looked down, realizing his reaction earlier. Was it too much? Quite awkward...
"Fine, I'll leave, but don't celebrate yet, there's still time for us to meet in the future..." Gerald looked sharply at Simon, then laughed cynically. "I'll come for you..."
After that, he left just like he came, with a sudden arrival. It took a few moments until Sandra breathed a sigh of relief. "Careful!" Simon supported Sandra so she didn't fall to the floor. "Miss Sandra, are you okay, right?"
Sandra shook her head softly, and Simon helped her sit back down. It felt awkward, Sandra was feeling embarrassed when Simon helped her, especially as the staff began to arrive. "It's okay, I'm just feeling a bit dizzy, could you accompany me outside for a moment?"
