Ch. 2THE ESCAPE

We looked into each other and felt it hard to get away from his shining gaze. I knew he could feel it the same way. He's indeed my mate.

''Whick pack do you come from?' He asked, his eyes gleaming with curiosity and excitement.

His gaze lingered on the shackles binding me, and with a boldness that left me breathless, he reached out and touched the metal.

I was shocked - his wolf didn't flinch, didn't weaken, as he made contact with the shackles. It was then I realized he was no ordinary thief - he was an Alpha, a powerful leader with a strength that rivaled my own pack's leader.

'Alpha,' I whispered, my voice barely audible, my weakness evident. But he didn't seem to notice, his focus fixed on the treasures surrounding us.

With the precision of a seasoned thief, he gathered precious jewels and stacked them in his bag, his movements fluid and calculated.

Just as he packed all the treasures, he turned back to me with a piercing glare.

"Let me get you out of this place," he said, his voice low and urgent.

"I doubt you'll survive the night, not with the shackles draining your life force away." He strode back to me, his eyes blazing with intensity.

With a mere touch of his bare hand, the shackles began to melt, as if they were nothing more than ice in the face of his formidable strength. I was transfixed, my mind reeling with the realization of just how powerful he was.

As the shackles broke apart, I felt a surge of freedom I had not known in 20 long years.

My legs trembled beneath me, weak from disuse, and I stumbled, barely able to stand. But before I could collapse, he swept me into his arms, cradling me like a child. I felt a rush of gratitude and wonder, my heart racing with the knowledge that this stranger, this powerful Alpha, had saved me from a fate worse than death.

As we fled the tower, our mysterious rescuer enveloped us in an aura of invisibility, allowing us to slip past the security teams undetected.

We moved swiftly and silently, like phantoms escaping the shadows. Before long, we reached the outside world, where a vintage car awaited us, its engine purring softly.

A grizzled driver, likely a wolf himself, greeted us with a nod, his eyes gleaming in the darkness. He drove us far from the tower's oppressive grasp, the miles blurring together as my strength waned. My vision began to blur, my eyelids heavy, and I succumbed to the darkness, unaware of our destination or the fate that awaited us.

As my eyes struggled to open, the warmth of the wood-burner enveloped me, a comforting embrace that chased away the chill of the unknown.

I found myself in a rustic, welcoming space, the scent of wood and smoke filling my senses. Lyrien, my enigmatic rescuer and mate, stood nearby, his voice low and urgent as he conversed with a rugged, weathered man.

''Why bring someone over, Lyrien?'' the man asked, his gaze flicking towards me with a mixture of curiosity and wariness.

My voice was barely a whisper, my weakness palpable, but Lyrien's eyes met mine with a knowing glint, as if he held secrets and stories that only I was meant to hear.

Lyrien's voice pierced through my haze, ''Are you awake? Stand up, let's eat!''

He called out to the other man, ''Josh, let's eat!''

My eyes widened as I took in the spread before me - a feast fit for a king! I had never seen such a bounty in my life. My stomach growled in anticipation, and I dug in with reckless abandon, savoring the flavors and textures of the dishes.

I ate with a ferocity that surprised even myself, my hunger and exhaustion momentarily forgotten in the face of this culinary delight.

Lyrien's voice interrupted my gluttony,

''Eat slowly, you might hurt your stomach.'' I nodded, mesmerized by the vibrant colors and warmth of the world around me.

It was a beauty I had never beheld before, a stark contrast to the darkness I had known. Memories flooded my mind, transporting me back to that fateful night two years ago, when I was 18 and first discovered my inner demon.

My father had thought the shackles would kill me, but instead, they unleashed a power I couldn't control. I recalled the terror I inflicted on the nearby town, the bloodlust that consumed me, and the countless lives I destroyed. The werewolves' weaken stone had finally subdued me, saving me from myself. The shame and horror of that night still lingered, a constant reminder of the monster I harbored within.

As I gazed out the window, lost in the vibrant tapestry of the world, Lyrien's sudden voice whispered in my ear,

''The world is crazily beautiful, right?' His sigh was followed by the soft rustle of his movements as he stood beside me, our eyes fixed on the scenery below. My heart raced uncontrollably, and I couldn't help but steal glances at his chiseled physique, his rugged features, and his piercing eyes. I wondered if my fluttering heart was due to my inexperience with mating or if it was the novelty of being with a male wolf.

The uncertainty swirled within me like a whirlwind, leaving me breathless and curious.

Lyrien's piercing gaze demanded the truth, his questions cutting through the air like a knife.

''Which pack do you belong to, and how did you end up imprisoned in Moon Pack's Seven Tower Gate?''

I struggled to find the words, my voice faltering as I tried to reveal the painful secrets of my past.

'I...I...' The words stuck in my throat, unable to explain how my own father's betrayal had led to my confinement.

But before I could muster the courage to continue, Josh burst into the room, his urgent tone shattering the silence like a thunderclap.

''Lyrien, your father is dead!''

The words hung in the air, heavy with significance, leaving me wondering what this revelation meant for Lyrien, and for my own fate.?
