Reynald called the waiter to pay for all the dishes he ordered.
He was extremely angry and embarrassed upon hearing Chiko's remarks about his wife's faded clothes.
Not like the wives of most high-ranking company executives?!
"Tsk!" Reynald clicked his tongue in frustration.
The man still didn't realize that he was the one at fault here.
Riana should have received a monthly allowance so she could buy whatever she wanted. But what did he do instead?
Reynald forcefully grabbed Riana's arm, disregarding all the eyes that had been watching them.
All he could think about was getting home quickly and scolding Riana for embarrassing him.
The sound of the door being kicked caught Mayang's mother's attention, and she looked towards Reynald with a curious gaze.
"What's wrong, Rey?" she asked.
"It's Riana, she just embarrasses me!" replied Reynald with intense emotion.
"How did she embarrass you? And where are you coming from?" Mayang's mother asked again, her eyes glancing at Riana who stood frozen.
"She deliberately had a meal with me wearing shabby clothes and made me be humiliated by my coworker because the wife of a director shouldn't wear such shabby clothes," Reynald angrily pointed towards Riana.
"She's always like that, Rey. So why are you surprised? Riana always seeks attention from people around her so they pity her and make us the villains," Mayang's mother provoked her son's emotions.
"Is it true, Riana?!" Reynald asked loudly.
"No. I don't have money to buy new clothes. You never give me any money," Riana replied softly.
"Oh, that's just your excuse, Riana. But you're the one who is too wasteful!" scolded Mayang's mother.
"But, Mom, you only give me-" Riana's words were cut off by Reynald's outburst.
"Stop, Riana! Go to your room now!" commanded Reynald.
"Rey," Riana called softly.
"I said go inside, now!"
Riana entered her room with her head bowed, losing the courage to answer her husband. Because if she did, he would resort to violence against her. Moreover, Mayang's mother was ready to fuel their arguments.
"Didn't I tell you not to marry Riana? But you insisted!" grumbled Mayang.
"Mom," Reynald rubbed his face roughly.
"What? What I said is true. Riana is just a parasite in our family. She doesn't work and she's not from a wealthy family like Serly. Why did you choose to marry her?!" Mayang fumed.
Reynald sighed and chose to leave the house because he was tired of always having a headache whenever he was at home. That's why he never felt comfortable at home and preferred to go out on weekends.
Reynald's car sped away quickly, and he chose a popular cafe in his city.
"Excuse me, I'd like to order!" Reynald called the waiter.
"What would you like to order?"
"Just this." Reynald pointed to a cold coffee drink.
"Alright." The waiter took note of Reynald's order and walked away.
Reynald waited, playing with his smartphone. He didn't realize that a beautiful woman approached him, tall and fair-skinned.
"Excuse me, may I sit here?" she asked.
Reynald looked at the woman who had just arrived from head to toe. "Beautiful," he murmured.
"Sorry?"
"Sure, I'm sitting alone here anyway," Reynald replied with a bright smile.
"Thank you." The woman sat right in front of Reynald.
"Are you meeting someone here?" Reynald asked.
"No, I just want to relax after working a lot," she replied.
"Oh, I thought you were meeting your lover here," Reynald chuckled.
"Unfortunately, no one wants me," she said softly.
"Why doesn't anyone want you? You're so beautiful like this, surely many people like you, including me," Reynald flirted.
"You can do that. Aren't your lover or your wife angry when you flirt with women here?" she asked.
"Of course not. Because no one wants me either," Reynald lied.
"Are you kidding? Someone like you, who can be seen as successful because you're using an iPhone. There isn't a single woman who wants you?" Diandra asked with wide eyes, not believing.
"I just haven't found the right one yet. Oh, by the way, I don't know your name." Reynald reached out his hand to introduce himself.
The woman in front of him chuckled. "Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Diandra, and yours?" Diandra shook Reynald's extended hand.
"So smooth," Reynald thought.
"You're daydreaming," the woman teased.
"My name is Reynald, you can call me Rey."
"Nice to meet you, Rey," she replied warmly.
The drinks they were waiting for finally arrived, and Diandra also ordered the same drink as Reynald. They enjoyed their time together at the cafe, smiling happily and occasionally laughing together at Reynald's jokes.
"Oh my! It's already this late, sorry, Rey. I have to go now," Diandra excused herself.
"Can I ask for your phone number?" Reynald asked.
"Sure."
They exchanged contact information on the green-colored messaging app, and after they finished, Diandra bid farewell and left. Reynald also decided to go home because his mood had improved, just like before.
Reynald hummed happily along the way, eagerly looking forward to meeting Diandra again. She was a beautiful woman, fair-skinned, smooth, and tall like a model, not to mention her long flowing hair that added to her allure.
"If only Riana were like that," Reynald whispered softly.
Unbeknownst to him, Reynald had arrived home. He parked his car in the driveway and entered without much thought.
"Can't you do anything right?!" Mayang shouted.
"I'm sorry, Mom," Riana replied softly.
Reynald let out a long sigh. He had just felt happy, and now that feeling was shattered as soon as he arrived home.
"Apologies, apologies, that's all you can say! Fine, make it again properly. Remember, this time it has to be delicious!" Mayang yelled.
"Yes, Mom." Riana took the glass still filled with juice and headed to the kitchen.
"Oh, Rey. You're home already? When did you come back?" Mayang asked sweetly.
"Just now," Reynald replied curtly.
"Maybe Mom didn't hear because she was too upset with Riana," Mayang said.
"Yes," Reynald replied flatly.
"Why are you like this, Rey?" Mayang asked, realizing that her son's expression had turned angry.
"Tsk! Can't you two get along for just one day?!"
