The masked man was startled when he heard the door to the room open and spontaneously looked back to find Lucas coming, he had surprised him.
"Don't take any chances," Lucas said as he stepped forward to the masked man.
"Why did you come in without knocking?" the masked man said irritably.
"Suit yourself!" replied Lucas casually.
"Move aside, I want to check it out," Lucas said sternly.
The masked man tilted his body, he moved out of the way of La Rossa and made room for Lucas to examine La Rossa.
"It seems she is reluctant to wake up, most likely there is a trauma that makes her not want to return to this world," Lucas said explaining La Rossa's condition to the masked man.
"Trauma?" repeated the masked man.
"Huum," Lucas replied briefly.
The masked man wrinkled his forehead, his eyebrows knitted together. He seemed to be deep in thought.
"What made you afraid to return to this world? What was the tragedy?" the masked man murmured softly.
"I'm here to say goodbye to you, that I'm going to America tonight and that my work will be handed over to Doctor Aaron," said Lucas.
"Why all of a sudden!" said the masked man, annoyed by Lucas' explanation.
"Everything is sudden, I also just got news from Papa that Oma was hospitalized," said Lucas in a sad tone because his uncle was sick.
"Go away!" said the masked man.
"Can't you turn into the person you used to be, the person I knew with that warmth, that smile, I miss her," Lucas said sadly.
"He's dead! Don't ever remind me of him," the masked man fumed.
"But...," Lucas stopped himself as he stared into the masked man's retinas.
There was hatred and anger in his gaze, he stared intently at Lucas with eyes filled with rage.
"I'm sorry," Lucas whispered in a sad tone.
While they were arguing, La Rossa moved her fingers. "Water," she whispered.
Lucas, who was close to La Rossa, heard her soft voice and immediately turned his body to face La Rossa who was lying helplessly. The masked man approached and just as Lucas was about to give her a drink, he was suddenly stopped by the masked man.
"Let me do it," the masked man pleaded.
Lucas handed the masked man the bottle of mineral water he was holding and he also stepped back to make room for the masked man.
The masked man grabbed the mineral water in the bottle and dripped it on La Rossa's lips drop by drop using a straw, La Rossa whose lips were wet tried to sip the water with her eyes still closed.
The masked man continued to give La Rossa water through the straw little by little as she was still not fully recovered. Seeing La Rossa take a sip of the water, the masked man turned up the corners of his lips, a happy twinkle in his eyes. Unfortunately Lucas did not see that.
"Are you awake?" the masked man asked La Rossa when he saw her open her eyes.
La Rossa blinked her eyes, trying to adjust the light entering her retinas.
"Where am I?" she asked in a weak voice.
"You are in a safe place," replied the masked man.
La Rossa who was able to see clearly circulated her gaze in all directions, she saw an all-white room. In front of her stood a tall and stout figure even though his body was wrapped in a black robe that almost dangled on the floor. His face was covered by a silver mask that only revealed his eyes and lips.
"Who are you?" La Rossa asked softly.
"I...," the masked man stopped his speech when he saw La Rossa who was trying to wake up from her sleep and wincing at the pain in her stomach.
"Don't get up yet!" shouted Lucas who quickly rushed over to La Rossa.
Lucas stopped La Rossa's movement, he held her body that was trying to get up.
"Your wound hasn't really healed yet, don't move much yet," Lucas said.
Then Lucas checked La Rossa's condition, he was astonished by the strength of the girl in front of him. How could a girl who looked so weak have so much strength, if it wasn't her, she might have died because she couldn't withstand the poison in her blood and withstand the stab wounds that almost hit her vital organs.
"You're great to have survived until now, it's a miracle." Lucas praised La Rossa.
Lucas, who did not know La Rossa's profession, thought that the girl in front of him was weak, but if he had known who La Rossa really was, he might not have believed it. How could she not, La Rossa who has a petite body with a face so cute become a cold-blooded cruel woman with a profession as a professional assassin.
In her group she was the golden child, her missions never failed. But when carrying out the mission this time she almost lost her life due to the invalid data she received.
La Rossa stared at the masked man, she thought to herself, 'that look in his eyes.
La Rossa stared intently into the masked man's retinas, the look in his eyes reminiscent of someone La Rossa knew but did not know who. She tried to remember that person but La Rossa could not find it in her memory at all.
La Rossa remembered that the look in those eyes was also exactly the same as that of Gilbert, the target she failed to kill. Taoi Gilbert only had one eyeball, while the masked man before her had two. '
Are they the same person or are they two different people with the same eyes? But it's impossible for two different people to have the exact same look in their eyes.' La Rossa thought to herself.
La Rossa's gaze met the masked man's, she revealed a calm and soothing look. But a second later he changed his look to reveal a cold and cruel look. La Rossa felt confused by this situation, how could he change his appearance in just a matter of seconds.
