"Find out the truth!" Gilbert ordered coldly.
He had never thought that Magdalena was still alive; he had clearly seen with his own eyes that her body had been laid to rest alongside that of his father Abyakta.
"Yes, boss!" Jonathan replied.
Gilbert's hand shot up, and all of them left the table one by one. This left Gilbert alone. He supported his head with both hands, his eyebrows knitted together.
Gilbert thought hard about Magdalena's death, as it turned out there were many puzzles about his parents' death. Abyakta Aditama is the number one businessman in Indonesia. He is the owner of the Aditama Company, the largest company in Southeast Asia.
Unfortunately, the cause of his death has yet to be revealed. Gilbert believes that their deaths were caused by his only step-uncle, Alfredo Aditama.
Gilbert threw the brown envelope on the table until the contents scattered out. There was a photograph that had escaped his notice. He grabbed the photo. Gilbert looked closely at the photo, the location of which he seemed to recognize. An old photo that seemed to be very old, there were two girls who had the same body shape but their faces had faded.
Gilbert put the photos back into the envelope, and he also put the old photo into his pants pocket.
He carried the envelope with him and went to La Rossa's room. He saw La Rossa lying curled up.
Gilbert approached her, the back of his hand touched her forehead, and sure enough, she had a fever.
"Do you have a fever, Ros?" Gilbert whispered softly.
Gilbert pulled the blanket that was at La Rossa's feet and spread it over the tiny body of his childhood sweetheart up to her chest.
As Gilbert left the room, he called someone to check on La Rossa. A young man came in carrying his doctor's bag.
"Examine her!" Gilbert ordered.
The young man began to examine La Rossa under Gilbert's supervision, after ten minutes the young man stopped his examination.
"How is it?!"
"She just has a fever, it seems to be the effect of the wound. Let me put in an IV, sir."
"Do whatever it takes, I don't want anything bad to happen to her,"
"Okay!"
The man began to insert the IV by injecting the needle in the back of La Rossa's hand, his movements were deft. In a moment, his work was done. He injected the anti-biotic medicine in the IV bottle.
"It's done, sir. This is the prescription for the medicine that you have to pay for, one more thing. It would be best not to leave her alone, as she will start to become delirious from the effects of her fever," the young man advised Gilbert.
"Then excuse me, sir," he excused himself while carrying his doctor's bag.
"Jimmy! Wait!" called Gilbert, stopping the young man whose name was Jimmy.
Jimmy turned around, now facing Gilbert again.
"How can I help you. Sir?" Jimmy volunteered.
"Yes. Find out about the girl in this photo!" Gilbert ordered as he handed over the old photograph.
Jimmy took the photo and began to look at it. He then nodded his head and said goodbye to Gilbert.
Jimmy was not only a doctor, but also a spy expert that Gilbert had. The people around Gilbert were all experts.
Gilbert sat beside La Rossa's bed, he sat while looking at La Rossa's cute face. When she fell asleep, she looked so sweet and cute. However, who would have thought that behind her cute face was a professional assassin.
Gilbert stroked La Rossa's smooth white cheeks, he brushed away the fine hairs on her forehead and kissed her.
Gilbert did not move an inch from La Rossa's side. He was patiently keeping her company, when suddenly La Rossa's hands flailed in the air as if she was asking for help. Cold sweat poured from her temples down her cheeks.
Gilbert lovingly grasped La Rossa's hand, he also gently wiped the sweat from her forehead and cheeks.
"Don't leave! Please! Don't go!" La Rossa cried.
"Don't leave me. Please!" La Rossa continued to be delirious.
Gilbert lovingly whispered soothing words to La Rossa.
"I won't leave you. Don't be afraid! I'm here to protect and love you," Gilbert whispered right into La Rossa's ear.
"Don't go!" La Rossa's voice grew louder and louder.
Then La Rossa's body shivered violently, and Gilbert became increasingly worried. He felt her forehead, the heat was still high.
"It's cold!" La Rossa whispered with her eyes still closed.
Gilbert climbed onto the bed, he got under La Rossa's blanket and pulled her body into his arms.
Gilbert warmed La Rossa's body by hugging her. La Rossa calmed down again, falling asleep in Gilbert's warm embrace.
"Sleep peacefully! I will always take care of you," Gilbert whispered as he kissed La Rossa's forehead.
La Rossa burrowed deeper into Gilbert's embrace, her head buried into Gilbert's firm chest. The scent of Gilbert's body soothed her.
La Rossa and Gilbert fell asleep in each other's arms.
The afternoon passed, and dusk arrived. Showing its beauty, the orange tinge on the horizon signaled the sun saying goodbye and giving the moon room to give its light, shining on the beautiful earth.
La Rossa's eyes blinked, she squinted at the glare.
When she opened her eyes, she saw a hideous face before her. One side of his handsome face was damaged by burns.
La Rossa touched the skin of that face gently, "I'm sorry for hurting you," La Rossa whispered.
"If that time had not saved me, your face would have been fine," La Rossa murmured softly.
La Rossa kissed Gilbert's cheek and then she also kissed his lips softly for fear of waking him up. Gilbert smiled happily in his heart. It turned out that La Rossa was not disgusted by the burns on her face.
"I'll regret it if I lose you," said Gilbert with his eyes still closed.
La Rossa was startled, she was shocked to hear Gilbert's sudden words, her face flushed red. She tried to pull her body away from Gilbert's embrace. However, Gilbert tightened his embrace even more.
