Dean was shocked.
Did he just say something that stimulated Viana's memory?
Oh, Dean just said Alen's position as commander of the kingdom's intelligence. Did the word kingdom stir Viana's memory?
Dean was a little confused on how to reply to Viana's question. "Hmm, it's possible that you've been there. Do you remember what the palace looked like?"
Viana nodded. "Yes, the image of the palace suddenly appeared in my memory."
Dean. "That's good. Everyone in this kingdom must have seen the royal palace either in person or through online media. The important thing is that you're okay."
Viana's headache was also fleeting. Now it had subsided, and she was fine.
Viana rubbed her forehead with her index finger and repeated Dean's previous words. "So, your master is a commander of royal intelligence? Then he's very good."
Dean smiled, "Do you remember our kingdom's intelligence, Viana? Intelligence in our kingdom is a little different from other investigative agencies. This organization operates directly under the orders of the king. Whatever this organization investigates and decides is inviolable by anyone except the king himself. Even the ministry of law and judges have no power over it. For this reason, royal intelligence is often called the king's right-hand man."
Viana was stunned. "So, you're saying that your master is someone the king trusts?"
"Yes," Dean replied.
Viana inwardly estimated. "In that case, what rank is your master?"
Dean. "The current commander's position is a second-level official in the government."
Viana's eyes rounded. Second-ranking official!
In this kingdom, the first or highest position was the king, then the ministers were third-ranked. The intelligence commander was in the second tier, which meant his position was below the king and above everyone else!
That's an extraordinary position!
Dean added. "Since my master's position is so important, you must not act rashly regarding his identity. My master told you this because he decided to trust you."
Viana nodded her head confidently. "I will guard this secret with my life. After all, your master has saved me. If I can help, I will definitely help him without hesitation."
Dean saw the twinkle of confidence in Viana's clear eyes and instantly understood why Alen had let Viana know about his work.
Dean smiled and pushed Viana's wheelchair back to the house. "Then we trust you. Now rest well. After you recover, my master will see you soon."
Viana was happy to hear that. She nodded and watched Dean leave the courtyard.
After Dean left, Dean returned to the courtyard and found Alen sitting in the courtyard, drinking a cup of tea.
Alen raised his head as soon as Dean arrived. "You're back."
Dean nodded. "Yes, I told the information about you as soon as Miss Viana asked."
Alen smiled slightly without looking at Dean. "I heard everything."
Dean was surprised. "You could hear everything from here?"
Alen shook his head. "More like I can hear a little. Your voices are quite loud and reflected by the trees. Also, I can read lip movements. Those two things alone are enough for me to pick up on your conversation."
This was one of the skills of a top-level royal intelligence agent like commander Alen. Dean was speechless again.
"Not many people know your position, Commander. Why do you want to tell him this?" Dean asked because he wanted to confirm the conjecture in his heart.
Alen raised an eyebrow. "I guess you must have guessed what I meant." He chuckled slightly. "No problem; I just wanted to test her. If her memory is restored one day, I want to see how she reacts to me."
Dean was a little clueless. But Alen must have had his own purpose for doing that. As his loyal assistant, Dean was used to Alen's motives, which were sometimes difficult for him to understand.
"In that case, when are you going to see him, Commander?" Dean asked, changing the topic.
Alen smiled slightly and put down his teacup. "Wait a little longer; I'll definitely see her."
***
The days passed as Viana lived in this country house. Since she knew Alen's identity, Viana, who now only knew herself as a homeless person, became aware of the comparison between her status and Alen. She understood the reality and no longer hoped that Alen would come to see her. After all, their differences were like heaven and earth.
Therefore, Viana paid more attention to her health and tried her best to recover her physique and memory. She took medicines, examinations, and so on wholeheartedly.
With a full recovery, Viana would know about herself clearly.
Just like that, five months had passed since Viana had been living here.
By this time, she had left her wheelchair and started using crutches. Her hand injury healed faster than her right leg. Now she needed to practice walking little by little.
One day, Viana was walking alone in the yard with her crutches. Ellie was busy in the back of the house, and Viana didn't want to disturb her. The weather this morning was very nice; the sun was shining softly and warmly. The soft light hits Viana's beautiful face.
Feeling relaxed, Viana leaned against the bamboo fence for a moment. Her eyes accidentally looked at the road outside the fence and found children playing jump rope.
Seeing the children play merrily with their nimble feet subconsciously awakened Viana's desire to walk normally again. She longed for the days when she was healthy.
Finally, she tried to walk on her own. With one hand holding onto the bamboo fence and the other holding onto her crutches, she tried to land her right foot on the ground and tried to walk.
Unfortunately, after a little success, her crutches accidentally stepped on a small pebble and slipped. After losing her support, Viana's body became unsteady, and she fell forward.
She was completely unprepared and could only fall with resignation. But unexpectedly, her body was suddenly supported by a pair of strong hands. Her face hit the broad, firm chest of a man.
As soon as her body was caught by someone, Viana immediately opened her eyes and looked up.
Her gaze met the face of a handsome man.
"Are you okay?" the man asked in a deep voice.
Viana was stunned. For a moment she forgot that she was still in the man's half-hug position. It took a few seconds before she came back to herself and realized. "I-I'm fine, thank you."
Without waiting, Viana intended to pull herself away from him. But her right leg could not support her body firmly and almost stumbled again. The man smiled helplessly and took a firm hold of Viana's arm.
"Don't push yourself now. It might not be time yet," the man warned.
Viana didn't answer and just watched as the man helped pick up her crutches that had fallen on the ground, then brought them back to her. Viana immediately used the crutch as her support again and took a step back with difficulty.
"Thank you," Viana replied, a little embarrassed.
The man just looked at her and was silent for a moment.
The two fell into an awkward silence. Viana didn't know what to do. She had no idea who this man was and had never met this face before. After a while, Viana finally chose to ask first.
"Who are you?"
