Ch. 22

Her body felt uncomfortable, but she would recover in a while. Her eyelids opened slowly, and her vision was blurred. The question that naturally arose in her mind was, "What happened to me?" as she gently stroked her forehead.

It felt like her whole body was in pain. The bandaged wound on her arm would soon heal without anyone noticing. She tried to get up, but a man with a face fading from her vision immediately helped her sit comfortably on the bed.

Adriel tried to look at the man, but she still couldn't see clearly. She couldn't even hear anything because her head felt very dizzy. Until he said, "How are you feeling, Miss?" That was the first question asked of her.

She didn't answer but asked back, "What is this place, what happened?" she asked. The young man's face now slowly began to appear.

"You are in a hospital, Miss. You entered a forbidden area and got shot. My master Nikolai said he didn't want this issue to be prolonged."

What the man with the soft, hoarse voice said was not understood by Adriel.

"I don't know what you mean, I...." Adriel fell silent when she clearly saw everything. She was not in a pack or any other werewolf place, she was lost in the human world. Adriel's eyelids immediately widened, and she occasionally swallowed her saliva. She gaped slightly and looked at the man with long eyelashes with wide eyes.

"Miss, are you okay?" asked the man, who seemed concerned about her.

"Oh my God, I'm in...."

"You are in a hospital, Miss."

That answer made Adriel once again extremely shocked and she realized that she was cornered. She didn't know where she was or how she would survive this. Adriel was truly confused and didn't know what to do. She wanted to return to the Darkmoon Light Pack, she couldn't stand being in the human world, which was very modern. She had heard that humans had no morals or ethics, they lived in freedom and were very rude. She also heard that people in modern cities treated others very badly, especially they killed wolves, made wolves their prey, and took their skins, or humans would happily kill them with firearms.

The reality made Adriel extremely anxious. She thought about all the bad things that might happen to her. She was confused in front of the man in the black suit. His clothes were strange to Adriel, and Adriel's clothes were very old-fashioned for the young man.

Adriel's head hurt again, even worse than before, and she asked him, "Oh, my head, I think my head will explode, I don't remember anything." Adriel pretended not to want her identity known by anyone.

"Do you not remember anything?" asked the young man, and Adriel shook her head, "Not even your strength or friends, or anyone you know?" Adriel shook her head again, making the young man sigh. He swallowed his saliva and then left the ward, calling a nurse and asking to check Adriel's condition.

"Nothing bad has happened to the head, Sir. So there is no problem at all." That was what the nurse said, catching Adriel off guard.

"But doc, she said she has forgotten everything."

Adriel, hearing the conversation, immediately responded, "I didn't forget, but I said I don't have any. I mean, family." That answer made the young man a little angry. Why hadn't she said so before? Then the nurse left, hoping Adriel would be okay.

"Tell me, Miss, why did you say you forgot everything and then say something else?"

Adriel tried to answer and said, "I feel like I will lose my strength if I don't rest." Adriel tried to stay silent, but the young man shook his head.

"You have to meet Mr. Nikolai for the damage you caused."

Damage? Oh my God, what does he mean by damage? Does she have to compensate for the damage? No, she didn't want that to happen, she still didn't understand.

"What do you mean by damage?"

Adriel's question went unanswered. When her treatment was over, the young man with a handsome face immediately grabbed Adriel's arm and told her to follow him. Making Adriel feel that all of this was a game by this young man.

"Whether you like it or not, you have to meet Mr. Nikolai." Then she was roughly thrown into a car. In a luxurious black, shiny car, Adriel didn't know what to do. Why did she have to be thrown? It was always like this. Wherever she was, she looked out the window while in the car. Occasionally swallowing her saliva and confused by the situation happening to her.

All she could do now was surrender. Even her lie was uncovered in just a few moments, and she didn't know how to lie.

"Listen, I have a bag of jewelry for you, just give me what I want, and you will get a bag of gold." Adriel tried to make a deal, but the young man didn't respond at all. Adriel fell silent for a moment, waiting for a reaction, but only received a blank stare from him. Until the car started to slow down and enter a large house like a brown palace. Adriel's eyes widened in awe at the mansion's beauty.

This house was much bigger than Alpha Hadrian's castle. She immediately leaned her face towards the window and saw the magnificent house.

Is this the kingdom of a lycan? If it's indeed a palace with guards, is the man in the black suit a soldier of the king? Adriel occasionally rubbed her eyelids as if she couldn't believe what she saw.

The car stopped right in the yard, parked among other luxury cars. The young man got out and opened the door, then dragged her out of the car. The arm Adriel had shot and had healed hurt again when the young man gripped her arm and brought her into the house full of servants.

"Is the Master here?" asked the young man, and an old servant nodded.

"He is in his room."

The young man nodded and dragged her again, while Adriel winced, "You are hurting me, Sir," with teary eyes.

They both climbed the stairs and reached a dark-colored door. The young man knocked, and a voice was heard from inside.

"Enter."

The door was then opened by the sleepy-eyed but sharp-looking young man. She was then brought in by the young man and thrown to the floor, making Adriel kneel in front of a table with a middle-aged man busy with a pen.

"Sir, this is the girl who entered your territory without permission. She has recovered."

Then the middle-aged man looked up. She, who was bowing, was pulled by her hair from behind, making her look up at the master. That beautiful face, with a white neck and rosy lips, but slightly dry and wet eyelids, looked at Nikolai van Marsell, the middle-aged man who was now staring at her in amazement.

"I didn't do anything, Sir." Adriel, with her left eye tearing up, looked at the master, who now gaped slightly and marveled at the beauty of the she-wolf in front of him.

"Tell Daniel," said the man, "Where did you find such a beautiful girl?"

"Sorry, Sir?" asked the young man, Daniel.

"Leave me with her. She is mine now."
