As Robby left, a servant came in with the items that Laura had requested.
"Thank you," Laura said to the waitress who returned a smile and a brief bow.
Laura put a compress on Justin's forehead. She stroked the man's furrowed brow. Soon, the frown disappeared. Justin slowly opened his eyes as well. Justin looked at Laura who was right in front of him smiling at him.
"Are you awake?"
Justin nodded slowly. He wanted to get up but his body felt very heavy.
"You're sick, get some rest."
"But-"
"Just listen to what your personal butler has to say." Laura's sarcasm emphasized the word personal attendant.
Knock knock knock!
The door knocked and in walked a servant with a doctor in tow. Laura rounded her eyes when she saw who the doctor was. The doctor was also surprised to see Laura.
"Excuse me sir, miss, Doctor William has come to examine you." The waiter said and then excused himself.
"Do you know each other?" Justin's voice interrupted Laura and William's stare-down.
"We -" William was immediately cut off by Laura. "No! We don't know each other." Laura interjected quickly.
Justin made an incredulous face. "But you guys..."
"Never mind you need to get checked out Justin." Laura cut in before Justin could ask any more questions.
William walked straight up to Justin, looking at him in confusion. "Are you sick? You're not usually sick." He said as he took out his supplies and giggled.
Justin didn't respond to his best friend's words which seemed like a joke to him. He just rolled his eyes and let William and his best friend check his condition.
"He just has a fever, nothing to worry about. He just needs to rest and take the medicine according to what I wrote. You can pick it up at the pharmacy." William said to Laura while handing her a paper.
Laura accepted the paper and nodded her head. "Thanks doc."
"Alright I'm going home, take good care of yourself man."
"I'll drive you." Laura said.
Justin watched their backs as they left his room suspiciously. He was sure there must be something, he could see their surprised looks at each other when they met earlier. But he knew it was none of his business so he didn't care.
William grabbed Laura as soon as they were out of Justin's room. "Laura."
Laura obeyed following the man who seemed to be looking for a safe place to talk. After stopping walking Laura looked at William with a worried look.
"Why don't you go to the hospital anymore?" William asked directly.
"I can't," Laura replied with a slight tone.
William touched both of Laura's shoulders and looked at her seriously. Laura! Your life is at stake here if you don't check up regularly. I'm afraid your condition has worsened. I already consider you as my own sister Laura."
"William I can't, Justin won't let me go." Laura said.
"William massaged his own temples. "Does he know?"
"No, he doesn't know."
"You have to tell him!"
"No! I'm just his-"
"His personal maid? That's not it? Justin told me, but I don't believe it was you." William said.
Laura's only thought was, why would Justin know about her illness if he was just her personal butler? Justin wouldn't care. After all, she was nothing to him. Not a lover, not a wife, not a brother, not a sister, not a friend? I don't know, he was confused himself but it didn't seem like it. She was indeed no one to that man.
"William who seems to know Laura's thoughts immediately said, "even if you're just his personal servant you should at least tell him so that he gives you permission to go to the hospital Laura!"
The woman shook her head in disagreement. "I can't William I don't want many people to know about my illness. I don't. I won't. Please don't tell him."
William sighed harshly and looked at Laura. "Well I won't tell her as long as you are diligent in going to the hospital for check-ups at all costs."
"I understand." Laura said.
"Then I'll go home, take good care of your condition."
Laura nodded. "Do you need me to drive you?"
The man shook his head slowly. "No, you don't. I already know where the door is and..." William smiled mischievously at Laura. "Take good care of Justin and don't feed him. And one more thing, be careful because he's very naughty."
After that, William immediately ran away with a big laugh leaving Laura whose face was already bright red.
"William!!!"
....
Laura returned to Justin's room after asking one of Justin's bodyguards to take her to the pharmacy. She saw Justin with his eyes closed. Laura sighed and walked out of his room. But she was stopped in her tracks by his words.
"Stay here, keep me company."
She didn't expect Justin to ask her to accompany him. She thought he wouldn't like her company. Moreover, he was only a personal servant. She was also confused about what to do later.
Even so, Laura walked back to the man. She just stood there doing nothing. Until she remembered the medicine in her hand.
"Justin, you should take some medicine first." Laura said as she took out some pills and gave them to him.
Justin sat up straight and accepted all the medicines. Then Laura gave him a glass of water. Justin swallowed the medicine and drank the rest of the water. Laura took the glass and put it back on the nightstand. She looked at Justin who lay back down. Now she really didn't know what to do.
Justin saw Laura's confusion and patted the side of the bed, telling her to sit there.
Laura looked at Justin in disbelief, sitting next to him on the edge of the bed? Gosh she was like his wife or girlfriend. But Laura quickly put on her usual expression and sat next to him. She looked ahead without paying attention to Justin who was behind her. One would feel nervous if they had to be close to that man. Especially if it had to be for a long time like this.
"Laura." A soft call rang in Laura's ears. She immediately turned her head and saw Justin smiling at her. How could she be hypnotized if she saw the man's smile like this.
