Justin had arrived at his company with Laura. He got out of his car followed by her. Laura looked up to see a large sign that read, Watson international corporation. Upon entering the company, Justin and Laura were already the center of attention. The employees bowed their heads in respect and greeted their boss.
Many were whispering about Laura. Is she one of Mr. Justin's dates? Her appearance was terrible, and so much more. Laura tried to ignore it all. She had thought this would happen before. Ridiculed? Belittled with harsh words? She was sure she would get it all. She didn't want to get into trouble with that man. But it seemed like his destiny forced him into it.
Laura followed Justin's footsteps to the private elevator. Once inside the elevator Laura didn't say a word. She was like a silent servant, following her master everywhere.
Ting!
The elevator beeped to indicate that it had stopped moving. They got out and headed towards Justin's office. When passing the man's secretary, Justin was greeted respectfully by his secretary, while Laura? She got a snide look from Justin's secretary. But Laura ignored the stares and just walked past.
"Laura, get me some coffee!" Justin ordered as they entered the room.
"Isn't there an office boy you can ask? Why me?"
Justin looked at Laura and cut her off. "Don't argue, remember you're my personal servant."
The woman sighed and then nodded slowly and left the room. Now she had to find where the kitchen was to make Justin's coffee. He was really treating her badly. A personal assistant and yet she had to take care of annoying things like this.
A young man in a neat suit looked at the confused Laura and approached her. He walked up to Laura and patted her, "hey,"
Laura jumped in surprise and turned around to look at him. He was handsome, not even less handsome than Justin although in reality Justin was still much more handsome.
"Do you need help?"
Laura immediately nodded slowly. "I'm looking for the kitchen do you know where it is?"
"Of course. Let me take you there."
"Alright, thanks."
They didn't say a single word while walking, even entering the elevator. When they arrived at the office kitchen, Laura thanked the man once again and he nodded in return.
"Wait a minute, who are you? Why are you here?" The man asked.
Laura, who was making coffee, turned around. "I followed Mr. Justin."
"Why?"
"You ask a lot of questions. If you'll excuse me, I have to deliver this coffee to him."
Laura left immediately and headed towards Justin's room. It wouldn't be funny if she got angry at him for being late with the coffee.
Laura handed the coffee in her hand to Justin. "Here's the coffee."
"Justin took it and drank it. He frowned and looked down at the coffee. "You put sugar?"
Laura nodded slowly.
"Get me a new coffee and don't put the sugar!"
"Why didn't you say that from the beginning?" Laura said irritably.
"You didn't ask." Justin replied casually.
Laura walked away stomping her feet in annoyance. After just a few steps, Justin called her back.
"What else?"
"Don't use the elevator because it's getting fixed."
Justin's words managed to make Laura widen her eyes. Even her mouth opened slightly. "Are you kidding me?" She screeched.
"No, I'm not. Hurry up and make me some coffee!"
Laura was now really annoyed that she had to go down 34 floors! Is that guy really crazy now? Or was she being pranked by him now?
She had only gone down 7 floors and her legs were already sore. She couldn't imagine how her legs would feel when she climbed these stairs. It probably felt like her legs were going to break.
It took 15 minutes for Laura to arrive at the kitchen. She quickly found a chair to sit on and massaged her own legs. Feeling a little better, Laura stood up and made a fresh cup of coffee without sugar for the man.
There was already a cup of coffee in her hand. She looked up at the many stairs above her. Did she have to climb them all? Of course! Laura started climbing the stairs slowly. 10 minutes later Laura was still on the 12th floor with a leg that felt like it was going to break. She decided to rest on the stairs first. Sweat broke out on her face and down her neck. Laura went back up after a few minutes of rest. She didn't care if Justin would scold her for taking too long. It was also because he told her not to take the elevator.
It took almost half an hour for Laura to arrive at the 34th floor. Justin's secretary gave her a dismissive look. Laura's hair was a mess of sweat and her face was wet with sweat. She was tired of climbing 34 flights of stairs just for a coffee.
"Here... Coffee... Your coffee..." Laura said under her breath.
Justin didn't even care about her appearance. He just stared at her for a moment then took his coffee and went back to focusing on his work without paying her any attention.
"Laura, please buy me some food at the restaurant out front. You just mention my name and they'll serve it right away." Justin said without taking his eyes off the files in front of him.
It had only been 20 minutes since the man had given Laura a break, now she was being ordered around again. Worse, she had to go up and down the stairs again. Laura just nodded slowly and left the room listlessly.
....
Laura had arrived at the front restaurant at 10:00 am. She immediately said Justin's name in full. During the wait, Laura decided to sit down and massage her feet. Laura prayed that her illness would not recur. She was worried that when she walked, it would come back. Oh no, Laura wouldn't want that to happen.
