Ch. 37Chapter 37

All his life Justin had never proposed to a woman again after the woman who betrayed him left him. Nothing could make him beg for a woman because he thought all women were the same. But now Laura managed to make him beg a woman.

Laura smiled widely. "Any amount?"

"Any amount."

"Yes!"

Laura cheered with delight. Without Justin having to ask, Laura pulled him by the hand back to the barbecue. Justin asked Ethan and Lidya to give him a minute to grill a special sausage for Laura. They smiled and nodded slowly.

"So what do you want?" asked Justin with a sweet smile on his face.

Laura looked very enthusiastic. She pointed to what she wanted. "I want three sausages and fish."

"Alright, please wait princess." said Justin.

Once again, Laura nodded her head. She sat in a small chair with a small table in front of her. Laura enjoyed the evening breeze while waiting for Justin to finish grilling the sausages and fish. Every now and then she stole a glance at Justin who was so cool while grilling. When her eyes met Justin's, he smiled at her. She looked away embarrassed at being caught.

A few minutes later, Justin came over to him with a plate in his hand. He placed the plate on the table and sat down on the chair next to Laura.

Justin picked up the plate again and held it. "You want some?"

"Of course."

Justin fed Laura the sausage, then he pulled out the rest and ate it too.

"Em, delicious." Justin praised himself.

"Justin wants some."

The man fed Laura happily again. Laura peeled the fish and ate it. Justin asked Laura to feed him. Laura took the piece of fish and put it into Justin's mouth. She pushed the man's lips slightly so that Justin's body was pushed back. She laughed at her own actions. Justin smiled wryly. He picked up a sausage and put it in his mouth, not swallowing. Justin pulled Laura's face closer. He bit her lower lip open and put the sausage into her mouth. It looked like they were kissing. Without realizing it, everyone was looking at them.

"Mm, isn't it delicious?" asked Justin with a mocking smile.

Laura swallowed the sausage with some force. "Gross!" she said irritably.

Justin laughed again. He pulled Laura's body against him. Justin picked her up and stood up.

"Justin! Where are you taking me? Put me down!" she yelled.

Justin ignored Laura's screams. He looked at the others. "We'll be right back." he said briefly and left with Laura, who rebelled in his arms.

Laura kept swearing to herself because she was so upset. Who was this guy to keep acting like this to her?

Oh don't you forget Laura, she's your boss as well as your current girlfriend. Laura's mind reminded her.

She sighed and surrendered to Justin. Where he wanted to take her, she didn't care anymore.

Not long after, Laura felt her body being lowered. She quickly stood up and looked around.

Damn! She gaped in disbelief at what was in front of her right now. For the first time, she saw something this beautiful. In front of her, there were many lanterns flying. He loved lanterns so much. Flying lanterns was his favorite. He used to fly lanterns with Samuel and Gabriel a lot. However, that was no longer possible.

"Do you like it?"

Laura turned her head and nodded. She really liked the view in front of her right now! She could feel at home there, especially with the cool night breeze hitting her body.

Her hand was suddenly pulled again by Justin. He led her to a table. On the table was a lantern with their names written on it. Laura covered her mouth in disbelief. That man had so many surprises and mysteries.

"Justin... This?"

"Yes, these are our names. I hope you like it. I made this because I wanted to make you feel included. And... Can I ask you something?"

Laura nodded slowly, but she held her hands in the air asking the man not to speak first. "But as long as it's not something weird."

Justin nodded slowly. He lowered Laura's hand and came closer. "I want you to stop crying alone. Make me your back and I expect you to open up to me. I'm your lover Ra and I don't like to see you crying sad Ra."

Tears flowed from Laura's beautiful eyes down her smooth cheeks. She hugged Justin tightly. I don't know how many times she hugged him today. But she never thought this would happen. At a time like this, she felt truly cherished by him.

The lantern was lifted by Justin and Laura together. Justin lit the candle inside the lantern. He glanced at Laura who smiled and nodded.

"One, two..."

"Three!" shouted Justin and Laura as they lifted the lantern.

Justin put his arm around Laura. "You like lanterns don't you? Lanterns are bright Ra, and you love lanterns. Can't your life be like that lantern? Keep flying with the light. The difference is that the lantern's candle will go out and fall while I hope you don't have to experience that. Darkness and other bad problems? No, you've had enough problems so far." he explained.

"Thank you, thank you Justin, you're so good to me. I never thought meeting you would change my life one hundred and eighty degrees. You're always there for me when I'm sad. Thank you."

Justin kissed Laura's head. "You know what Ra? You're different from other women. That's what makes me so good to you."

Ah yes of course. Not because I'm someone special to you of course. Laura thought.

"Happy Birthday Ra," Justin whispered softly in her ear.

"Now what?"

Justin laughed amusedly at Laura. "You, always ruining the romantic atmosphere."

Laura hung her head in shame. Gosh romantic? She never imagined those words would come out of Justin's lips before. Justin could always make her confused, sad, surprised, upset, angry, embarrassed, and worried. The man was truly surprising, everything he could do. Maybe there was only one thing Justin couldn't do for him.
