Ch. 35Chapter 35

"Justin, what is this necklace for?"

Justin smiled. "Your present, maybe?"

Laura's eyes went wide. She looked at the necklace and Justin in turn. "Ju... Justin, this is too much. I don't need a present at all Justin, you don't need to buy me this."

You even said this necklace is too much. What if you see the real gift? Justin thought.

"I'm not taking it back Laura. Anything I give to someone else I don't take back."

Laura let go of the necklace and then pulled Justin's hand away and put the necklace there and made Justin hold it. He shook his head slowly as he closed his eyes. Laura opened her eyes and looked at Justin. "I don't know how much you spent on this necklace. But I know it's very expensive. I don't deserve this Justin, give it to the woman you love. Not me."

"What do you mean Laura? Wear it, you deserve it." Justin pushed his hand towards Laura.

"No Justin, you just ask the woman you love. I definitely don't deserve to wear it. She's the one who deserves it more Justin."

Justin smiled wryly. "Why don't you accept a gift from me for once? I just want-"

Laura shook her head and Justin stopped her.

"You disappoint me Laura." Justin put the necklace in his coat pocket. He stood up and left Laura there alone.

His heart ached at the mere rejection of a necklace from Laura. It was just a necklace, and Laura rejected it. Didn't she know he loved her all along? Justin closed his eyes, his hands clenched into fists until his veins were visible. He picked up the necklace and stared at it for a moment. Justin let the necklace fall down from his hand. He didn't care if anyone took it. He wasn't sure if anyone would take it either. Laura had already refused the necklace, even though it was a necklace that she had ordered a few days ago just for him.

Justin continued his walk, letting the necklace fall among the rocks. He approached the others who had started to gather to fish with a face that he made as flat as possible.

"Justin, where's Laura?"

Justin just shrugged his shoulders indifferently with his face still flat. Suddenly it made everyone stare at each other in confusion. What was wrong with Justin? Why did he look so indifferent? Even though what they asked about Laura, they wondered silently.

At the same time, Laura closed her eyes. "What have you done Laura? Now he's disappointed in you." Laura took a slow breath and exhaled.

She touched her chest, which felt a little tight as she heard Justin was disappointed in her. What should she do now? Laura stood with her gaze straight ahead. She had to make things right. Although it was hard to accept the necklace, at least it made it possible for Justin not to be disappointed in her anymore.

Laura turned around and walked away. She was going to find Justin and apologize to him. When Laura saw Justin, she immediately approached him, but unfortunately, they were not alone at the moment. She couldn't talk to him in privacy. Laura decided to talk to Justin later. They prepared their gear for fishing later.

"Alright, we're all set, right? Let's get on the boat now!" exclaimed Ethan in the lead.

The six of them got into the boat that had been prepared. The boat took them out to sea to fish. After only a few minutes, the boat stopped again at a place where it was certain that there would be a lot of fish underneath so that the fishing would be fun, not bored.

They sat on the side of the boat together. From the left Laura, Sarah, William, Lidya, Ethan, and Justin. Sarah, Lidya, William, and Ethan looked confused with Justin and Laura sitting far apart. There must be a problem that has happened between them.

William asked Sarah and Lidya to ask Laura to move away for a while first. He and Ethan would talk to Justin. However, Laura refused, saying it was okay. So they couldn't do anything other than fishing and looking at the two people who were just silent.

"Aa! I got it!" Lidya shouted happily. Everyone turned to Lidya with a smile.

"Pull Dy!" said Ethan encouragingly.

"I got it too!" shouted William and pulled the line.

They all laughed softly at William's behavior who was more excited than Lidya. Laura smiled at the sight of the couples talking and laughing. Seeing that, she remembered Samuel. In the past, she always laughed together with him. Now, that wouldn't be possible anymore. He was already married to another woman. Laura smiled wryly at the thought. She resumed her fishing.

They had been fishing for 3 hours, and now it was 5pm. They are getting ready to clean the fish and grill it. Before that, they counted how many fish each of them got.

"William 2 fish, Sarah 1 fish, me 3 fish, Lidya 2 fish, Laura 2 fish, and Justin 5 fish. Hm, no surprise. You've always been good at fishing dude. I don't know what you did to those fish that came to you." Ethan complimented his friend.

William nodded his head. Yeah, and why don't you become a fisherman?" he joked.

Everyone laughed while Justin rolled his eyes lazily. "If there's something better, why not?" he snickered.

"Gosh, you're so cynical. Are you in a bad mood?" Ethan teased.

"Will you shut up? Or I'll kick you out of here." Justin said with his cold tone and flat face.

Instead of being scared, Ethan laughed softly. "Uh... a monster on a rampage." he said in his scared style.

William shook his head in surprise at how Ethan liked to tease Justin. Even though Justin was clearly in a bad mood. He was also not afraid of Justin's anger, it was just that he had no intention of making Justin even angrier. The man was in a bad mood.

Justin sharpened his gaze on Ethan, making him understand that Justin wasn't in the mood for jokes. "Okay, fine, I give up." Ethan raised his hands.

"Well, we'll clean the fish." Laura said and took three buckets filled with five fish each.

They walked towards the mansion while talking.

"Hey wait a minute! Look what it is."

"What is it Dy?" asked Laura confused.

Lidya walked over to the rocks and took something from there. "I saw this sparkling from afar. It's a diamond necklace. Gosh, who threw this away?"

Laura and Sarah looked at each other and then approached Lidya. When she saw the necklace, Laura felt her heart stop. It was the necklace Justin had wanted to give her. So he was really disappointed in her to throw it away?

Sarah frowned at Laura's silence. "Laura, are you okay?"

Lidya looked at Sarah, then she looked at the necklace with Laura. "Does this necklace have anything to do with you?" she asked.

Laura smiled slightly. "I'm fine, do you mind taking the fish first? I want to take care of something first."

"Sure, no problem." Lidya replied and held out the necklace. "I believe this is yours."

Laura took the necklace. "Thank you Dy."

"You're welcome."

"Okay, I'll go first." Laura immediately ran away, leaving the two of them still curious about the relationship between Laura and the necklace.

Sarah shook her head. "Never mind, we'll just ask her to tell us. Hopefully she will."

Lidya nodded in agreement. "Yeah, you're right, we should start cleaning all these fish."

They laughed together and entered the mansion with the fish in buckets.

Elsewhere, Ethan and William looked at each other for a moment and then sighed. They had just heard Justin's story. At first they asked the man why it was so strange and they slightly forced Justin to tell the story. Ethan patted Justin's shoulder manfully.

"Come on guys, it's just a necklace!"

Justin's eyes looked at Ethan sharply. "No! It wasn't! That necklace is proof of my love for her!"

William nodded his head in understanding. "Does she know why you gave that necklace?"

"She only knows that it was her birthday present.

Ethan snapped his fingers. "That's it! Justin that doesn't mean she's rejecting you. She felt the necklace was just too much for her."

Justin knew that of course. "I know Ethan, it's just that somehow I'm so disappointed in him."

"Hm, I see. You wanted her to wear that necklace so badly. Never mind, now where's the necklace?" William asked seriously.

"I threw it away." Justin said flatly.

"What?! You threw it away!" shouted Ethan and William in unison.

"Hm."

Ethan and William didn't understand Justin's train of thought at all. Just because the necklace was rejected did it need to be thrown away? Even though the necklace was very expensive, if the value was mentioned, it would definitely make everyone shocked to death. But not Ethan and William, because they were used to it.

"Justin!!!"

Ethan and William's faces immediately broke into smiles. "Meet her, looks like there's something she wants to talk to you dude!"

Justin honestly still didn't want to meet Laura first. However, his heart was pushing him to meet her. So Justin decided to meet Laura.
