"We'll go to my room."
Laura nodded and followed William to the man's office. She sat on the chair in front of William's desk. Meanwhile, William sat at his desk. He looked at Laura seriously.
"How have you been lately?" William asked seriously.
"I don't know. Sometimes I'm so tired that I feel like fainting, but I'm trying to keep myself from fainting." Laura said.
"Have you done anything to make you more tired?"
Laura thought about it for a moment. Then looked at William with a doubtful look. Then Laura sighed. "I went up and down 34 floors of stairs twice."
"Jeez Laura, that'll only make it worse. You didn't faint did you?" William looked at Laura worriedly.
"Almost." Laura mumbled softly, but the man could still hear her.
William looked at Laura sadly. He took out the files from Laura's last examination. "Your heart is very weak Laura. You must stay in this hospital until your condition is completely cured. If not, your heart will get weaker and weaker and...I can't say it. You know what I mean."
Laura touched her chest looking down. Her heart was weakening, she couldn't go on like this. But Laura had no other choice. She would not be able to pay for the entire hospital treatment, which could be millions of dollars.
"I can't. I don't have enough money William."
William took Laura's hand. "Laura, how many times have I told you, I can help you. I will help you anytime. So let me help you this time."
"I don't want to trouble anyone else. Moreover, the cost will definitely be very expensive."
"Laura, you're not bothering me at all -"
Laura quickly stood up. "I'm sorry, but I can't."
Laura left immediately and ignored William's call of her name. She could not use a doctor's money to treat her illness. To pay for this hospital. Even though she and William were like brother and sister, she still didn't want to trouble others. She left the hospital. She went to the central park by taxi again. She needed to calm down her emotional state. Central park was the most appropriate place to calm herself down.
After arriving at the central park, like any other customer, Laura paid the taxi fee before exiting. Laura entered the central park and walked on the great lawn which was a vast expanse of greenery. Then Laura walked towards a large lake that was only bordered by a black fence and surrounded by large trees. Laura stood beside the fence and stared ahead blankly.
Laura contemplated her fate, which was not as beautiful as she had imagined. She had to undergo treatment that she couldn't afford. She didn't have as much money as other rich people did. She was well off, and it was not uncommon for her to go through money crunches where she had to endure hunger for a day or two. Laura winced as she remembered how she was in that critical period.
Laura's daydream was interrupted by her cell phone ringing. Laura took her cell phone out of her bag and saw who was calling. Arrogant Boss, which meant it was Justin calling. That was Laura's nickname for Justin.
"Hello?"
"Laura, where are you?"
"What's wrong?"
"Just answer where are you right now?"
Laura snorted in annoyance even though she knew he couldn't see her. "I'm at the central park in..."
"I'm there now!"
"You haven't..."
The connection was immediately disconnected. Justin disconnected the call before Laura could finish her sentence. She put her phone down and put it away in annoyance. Justin was always doing whatever he wanted. If only he had the money to compensate for the files he had soiled, he wouldn't be in this situation now. He would have been able to live a much calmer life without Justin's daily interruptions.
Laura sighed, this was her fate. No one can change the destiny that has been set by God. I don't know what plan God has for her. Laura only hoped that she could feel great happiness one day.
"Laura."
Hearing her name being called, Laura immediately looked back. She found Justin who was already standing there. Laura frowned. "How fast you arrived. I feel like only ten minutes ago you called me." Laura was surprised to see Justin who was already nearby.
"I happened to be around the central park." Justin replied.
"Ooh... Then what were you looking for?"
"Come with me!" Then Justin pulled Laura's hand straight away.
Laura squealed in surprise because her hand was suddenly pulled like that. "Justin! Where are we going?"
Justin didn't answer. He just pulled Laura's hand all the way to his car. The 25-year-old man casually carried the squealing Laura until they became the center of attention of the people around.
Justin immediately told Laura to get into the car, which she did. Justin and Laura fastened their seat belts. Then Justin drove the car at an average speed towards somewhere.
After arriving, Laura looked at the tall building in front of her with confusion. Justin told her to get out of the car, and so did the man.
"What are we here for?" Laura asked in confusion.
"I told you, you come along."
Laura nodded slowly. She chose to remain silent rather than speak. They were at the mall. And the man was casually walking along, ignoring the stares of the people. Laura chose to walk behind him instead of being the center of attention too.
Realizing there was no Laura beside him, he immediately pulled Laura to walk beside him. This behavior attracted the attention of many people. Laura sighed, getting ready that soon the virtual world would be abuzz with the news of her walking with that man. Laura didn't want to become famous like that.
"Why are you walking behind?" Justin whispered to her.
"Why are you pulling me?" Laura asked, ignoring Justin's question.
"I just don't want to walk alone."
"Buk-"
"Never mind, you ask too many questions." Justin interrupted. Because Laura had been asking so many questions.
Justin stopped in front of a very famous and expensive clothing store. Laura stared at the shop with her mouth open. Why would Justin bring her here? This was a women's clothing store! She wouldn't be able to afford even one piece of cloth.
Laura approached Justin and whispered. "What are we here for?"
There was no reply from Justin but instead he went inside and spoke to two employees. Laura hesitantly followed him inside.
"Find me a dress that's really beautiful and fits her well." Justin said to the two employees in a cold and sharp tone.
They nodded slowly and approached Laura. The woman looked confused. But Justin looked at her and motioned her to follow him.
It's been 5 dresses and they feel like nothing is perfect yet. Now, Laura came out of the dressing room in her sixth dress. When Laura came out, the two employees immediately
Stand up and stare in awe at Laura. She was very beautiful in a long sleeveless heart-red dress, exposing a wide back and a slit on her left thigh. She looked very much like a mature woman.
"Perfect!" One of the women shouted.
Laura was relieved, she had changed dresses 5 times, and this was the perfect one. However, Laura felt a little strange about this dress. She thought it looked too sexy, and she had never been this sexy before. Laura went back to changing her clothes as usual and then approached Justin who was focused on his cell phone.
"Are you ready?" Justin asked as he noticed Laura's presence.
"Yes." Laura replied briefly.
Justin stood up and took Laura to the cashier. On the way Laura was very worried, how would she pay? She had no money! Especially when she saw the price of the dress. It could be as much as she ate for 6 months.
When she got to the cashier, she didn't expect the man to pay for it. She felt like complaining to him for buying her such an expensive dress. It was a waste of money!
"Justin!" Laura snapped when they got to the car. "Why did you give me such an expensive dress? It was a waste of money you know!"
Justin raised both eyebrows. "Instead of thanking you, you're ranting like this. It's also very cheap. The dress you bought earlier will be used for the wedding of your ex-boyfriend and ex-best friend later." Justin said emphasizing the word ex.
Sighing in resignation. That's what Laura did when she heard the man's words. That's right. After all, she had intended to dress up as beautifully as possible in front of all of them. So she should be grateful and thank Justin for buying her this expensive dress.
Laura looked at Justin. "Thank you." She said sincerely.
"No problem."
Yes, she should thank him. Justin had helped her many times. Remembering her when she was sad, paying for her life,
convinced her to be strong and bought her an expensive dress just for her ex-boyfriend and ex-best friend's wedding. Even though paying for her life was part of the deal.
Still, it was good of Justin to say yes.
Even though paying for life was part of the agreement, it was still good that Justin was willing to do that. She should thank God for bringing her together with Justin. He was so good to her, even though he sometimes annoyed and irritated her. He couldn't deny that he was in awe of Justin.
"Now we eat. You must not have eaten yet, it's almost night." Justin said and then stepped on the gas to the restaurant.
