I hissed at his words. Do I need it? Seriously! How could Ursa Major be so arrogant like that? What made him think that way? Don't forget he still owes me an apology! After all, I'm not dependent on anyone. Not even a furry creature like him. He was the one who kidnapped me and trapped me in this world.
I noticed Ursa Major and the cat noticed me back. We looked at each other. Neither of us would budge at all. At least, we had the same character. Admittedly, he was just as stubborn as me. Ursa Major squinted and now he straightened his body even more to challenge me. Feeling annoyed, I ended up breaking the eye contact between us first.
"I don't need your help!" I yelled. He's annoying!
Ursa Major looked at me coldly as if I had just told an unfunny joke. "You need me! Do you remember the birds in the sky?"
I glanced at Ursa Major sharply. "Those birds?"
I watched the sky above me. Those birds were flying in circles in the sky. If only I hadn't experienced the incident earlier, I would be enjoying the scenery right now. Pastel purple and golden powder still decorated the sky beautifully. Oh, my! No matter how beautiful this world is, I still need to return to my world. Who would have thought that this magical, beautiful world would have such a dark side? That bird is a case in point. They nearly kill me.
Ursa Major followed my gaze. Then, it waved its tail again, and the piano keys played by themselves. The higher the pitch, the birds no longer flew in circles. They flew in random patterns as if in torment and then flew away and disappeared behind the clouds. Good! I didn't intend to say goodbye to them either.
"The birds are called singerie. She will trap you with her voice, lift you into the sky, and then throw you to the ground. Once you're dead, they'll gather, tear your body apart, and eat you," Ursa Major said as he looked at me with his sharp gaze.
I sighed. This is crazy! This world seemed to hold something behind its beauty. I raised my head. The birds didn't even look that dangerous but upon hearing Ursa Major's explanation, no! Predators on Earth aren't this smart. What predator would use such trickery? In the end, I mustered up my courage and looked back at Ursa Major with confidence.
"I survived!" I said while raising my chin high.
Ursa Major waved her tail, looking at me with a flat expression as if she was looking down on me. I doubt she even considered what I just said.
"I'm helping you with this piano sound! They don't like the sound of instruments" Ursa Major said coldly.
"Whatever it is, I don't need help, especially from a creature like you!" I shouted in annoyance.
"Besides, what's the reason you kidnapped me? Doesn't that mean you need me?"
I smiled wryly while staring intently at Ursa Major. For a split second, I could see his surprised expression. However, Ursa Major stuck to his stance. He didn't even bother to reply to my words.
"You know what? You're so annoying! I'm not going to change my words" I said irritably.
Subsequently, I turned my back to Ursa Major and walked away, letting the sound of the piano accompany my every step. I don't even care how noisy the sound is. I watched the singerie and Ursa Major was right. The bird was getting farther away and I was certain that the information Ursa Major had said earlier was correct. But, I won't let Ursa Major win. I think I can gather my data about this world.
The more I walked to the end, the more the piano sound increased. However, not long after, I froze for a while as I looked down. Oh, damn it! I completely forgot about that one!
I sighed in despair. Why didn't Ursa major jump? Why did it have to be me who was flown up here? I tried to estimate the distance to the ground. I might die if I just jumped in. This giant piano was about 25m off the ground. I looked at the vine on the other side. Could I reach it?
"Need some help?" offered Ursa Major haughtily. He was so annoying!
I ignored Ursa Mayor. I took a breath and took a few steps back. After successfully convincing myself, I finally jumped. My hands immediately tried to reach the nearest vine but failed. I didn't even get close to it at all. I fell down.
"aahhhh!" I reflexively screamed.
I felt the friction of air on my face. So hard that I feel like I've been slapped in the face. Nice! How many times have I been in freefall in the past few hours? I faintly heard the voice of the ursa major.
"magna e la sugra" he said
Suddenly, a vine wrapped around my body. Protecting my body before I was blown to pieces by the crash to the ground. Like a giant tentacle, the vine lowered me slowly. I watched the ground with my heart beating hard. That was so close! After I reached land, the vine loosened its coils and returned to where it came from.
I breathed a sigh of relief as my feet hit the ground. I checked the state of my body one by one and was grateful that I was safe. There were visible traces of the tendrils on my pajamas. But, it doesn't matter. I could change my clothes once I got home.
Afterward, I turned my head. The tendrils were moving slowly back around the pole. It was exactly as it was before. Up there, Ursa Major looked at me with a satisfied expression on her face. I squinted my eyes. From the start, I had disliked seeing Reeny holding that furry creature. Now, everything was proven.
Like a graceful cat, Ursa Major hovered again and then stood right in front of me firmly. I just silently stared at her in annoyance. Should I rely on her here? What happened earlier was a warning to me. But, I still stand my ground. I don't think so! Yup! I'm being stubborn. But hey! I deserve an explanation. Remember? I was kidnapped and my life has been threatened several times because of this world.
I waited for Ursa Major to speak. Maybe I'd relent if the furry creature's speech was a little softer and more polite than before.
"See? You need me here!" he said in a haughty tone.
I glared at his words. That's right! What do you expect from a furry cat like him? My head repeated the sentence he said. Me? Need him? Seriously!
"oh? I don't think so. I'll find my way out of this strange world" I said irritably.
I quickly turned around and left Ursa Major. That haughty cat was annoying. Oh no! He's not a cat. I even forgot what kind of creature he is. Sharky? Sherkey? Sharkeyance? Whatever he is, I won't hang my life on him.
I looked back. Apparently, it was also good to glare at him before I left. Unfortunately, the strange creature had already disappeared when I turned my head.
