The tinkling came back again and again. I turned my head to the right and left but couldn't find the origin of the sound at all. The sound was heard again in the distance. What exactly was going on? Then, I heard a heavy voice clucking. I recognized this voice. The same voice that brought me to this world. Next, I no longer heard a thumping sound but a clanking sound. Who plays a piano in a place like this?
The tinkling sounded again. At that moment, I realized something. Didn't the black object in front of me look like a piano leg? Piano legs! At that very moment, I came to my senses and raised my head. The tinkling sound of the piano could be heard again, but the pitch was higher than before. Ursa Major was standing and walking gracefully on a piano. Its tail was waving gently and I felt more and more disgusted with the creature. Did she think all this was funny? Ah! Ursa Major must be enjoying my stupid expression right now. Well, it must have been that stupid cat that pressed the piano originally. I laughed mockingly at the thought of bells ringing from its necklace every time Ursa Major walked over to the piano. What an annoying cat!
I walked over while thinking of several expletives for the furry creature. This is crazy! I even talk to a cat right now. It seemed even crazier that what I was experiencing now wasn't a dream at all. The closer I walked towards the piano, the more I realized the giant size. The piano was 10x bigger than the Grand Piano. No! I could call it a giant piano. Even Ursa Mayor looked small on it.
I laughed. Now, I felt crazy. I can't even climb onto the piano by myself. This is a dream, right? How could Ursa Major get up there by herself? With its claws? It's impossible given the piano's slippery surface. Ah! Cats with all their skills.
I raised my head. Now, my gaze met with Ursa Major's. Her amber eyes watched me without blinking and I refused to be defeated. Ursa Major was now standing tall. Once again, Ursa Major waved her long tail and my body just floated away.
"oh, no! My body!" I said in surprise.
This is funny. I'm floating. This isn't Neverland, is it? I'm not sure there are any Tinkerbells around here. However, I soared to the top of the piano. This is too high. Once on top of the piano, the magic just disappeared, dropping me on one of the keys. The sound was thunderous and I was busy taking care of my aching body. I cursed. I was sure Ursa Major was behind all of this.
However, all my swearing was swallowed as I stood up. I noticed the giant piano I was standing on now.
"This is crazy" I whispered.
My body was the size of a single piano key. In front of me, Ursa Major was staring at me with her yellow eyes. But, I'm not sure the creature before me is Ursa Major. Its eyes resembled Ursa Major, as did its white fur. It's just that this creature is the size of my body. No! It was even bigger, almost the size of a bear. Right then and there I thought, is the Ursa Major a white tiger?
"You think this kind of thing only exists in fairy tales?" she asked.
I glared as I heard the creature speak like a human. It walked closer to me. It turns out I was wrong. It was bigger than my size. The piano keys pressed downward sounded scales that grew higher as the distance between the giant creature and me narrowed. I took a few steps backward and fell. The high-do sound boomed again. I clucked. Oh, my gosh! My ears!
"Why? Confused?" Ursa Major asked mockingly.
"I don't understand. What exactly are you? Obviously you're not Reeny's anggora cat. You can't grow up in a few hours, right? Seriously! Your size is abnormal even for a white tiger" I half shouted.
"You're such a nag!" she complained.
Ursa Major sat up like a normal cat. However, its size made me cringe. Does it consider me its prey now? I'm almost like a mouse in front of her. I even yelled out for fear that she wouldn't hear me at all.
"Who said I was a cat? I'm also not a tiger like you said. I'm Sharkeyance. Yes, that's what they call me in this world" replied Ursa Major calmly.
"What shark?" I asked in surprise.
"Sharkeyance. We are the protectors here. Maybe in your world, you would hate me. At least your thoughts are wrong, right? I'm not a spoiled creature who can only meow," she said.
Ursa Major's eyes narrowed slightly as if blaming me. Wait a minute! Can Ursa Major read my mind? How does she know I think of her as a spoiled creature? I didn't even say it for fear of offending Reeny. I sighed. The pain earlier managed to make me realize that I wasn't dreaming at all. After all, I couldn't keep whining while hoping that all of this was just a dream.
"Okay, I was wrong. Now, return me to my world!" I shouted.
Ursa Major looked at me lazily. His mustache twitched annoyingly. Does she think I'm playing around now? That's so funny! I gave her a sharp look. Had she still been the size of a cat, I would have picked her up and shaken her body in annoyance.
"I know what you're thinking," Ursa Major said again. "It will only happen in your mind."
I snorted in annoyance. "At least I'm satisfied enough to do it in my mind. So? What do you want? Quickly return me to my world!"
I could not stay silent. Obviously, this creature before me is kidnapping me. At least, that's what she said although indirectly. Well, I must admit that this world is quite pretty with its stunning pastel colors. It feels like this world is suitable for fairies to live in. In fact, if fairies were flying around I wouldn't be surprised. It's just that this isn't my home!
"No way! You'll have to wait until the sun rises in your world," said Ursa Major.
"Why not?" I asked angrily.
The pounding of the piano accompanied me along with my angry outburst. I could see Ursa Major's ears moving uncomfortably. I glanced at Ursa Major with satisfaction.
"Give me back right now! I have to go to college in a while. For God's sake! What about my mom!" I said irritably.
Ursa Major glanced at me. There was something strange when he heard me mention my mother. His flat expression changed for a split second but he could change his expression just as quickly.
"Currently, the inter-dimensional hole is closed. You should wait for it to open" Ursa Major said.
"You should have told me when it happened," I said irritably. "You must take responsibility!"
"You have to listen to my world. In short, you need me" Ursa Major said haughtily.
I glanced at Ursa Major sharply. I hated that fact! Me? Need him? Seriously!
