Ch. 3Bang

I stared at the furry creature in disbelief. But, it seemed that Ursa Major was happy to be on Reeny's lap. It continued to purr without stopping. I felt mocked by its relaxed movements.

“Ursa Major! Come here, you fat cat!” said Reeny anxiously.
Reeny picked up the cat and hugged it. I looked at the furry creature. Once again, looking for just one good thing that would make me understand why Reeny adored this vertebrate creature so much.

But, unfortunately, I couldn't find one. Ursa Major looked comfortable on Reeny's lap. If Reeny wasn't my best friend, I would have already left this house. I don't remember how it started. I just remember a cat biting me as a child. Then, from then on, I was often followed by cats and even dreamt about cats watching me as I fell asleep from the window.
The furry creature kept purring. It looked at me with its golden-yellow cat eyes, just like those of a python. Stupid as I was, I looked back at the stupid cat with those piercing eyes. As if, those snake eyes were challenging me.

“Are you challenging me?” I said irritably.
For a few seconds, the strange cat and I still exchanged glances. The more I looked into its eyes, I saw its black pupils turn bluish. The blue color was wild and hot like a smoldering fire. Then, the snake's eyes sparkled. The pupils spun very quickly just like marbles. As the spinning grew faster, the eyes slowly gave off a dark blue light.

I didn't know what was happening to me. However, I couldn't take my eyes off it at all. Seconds later, I felt an explosion like a supernova. I gasped because of the explosion. A huge explosion and people crying out in pain. Vaguely, I saw a strange, wondrous world burning.
“You have to come quickly, stupid! We can't survive!” someone screamed right in my ear.

“Who?” I shouted spontaneously.
Reeny looked at me in surprise. I stared around the room with my breath ragged. But, the room was empty. There was only me, Reeny, and that stupid cat. There was no one else. Even the television in Reeny's room was off. Whose voice did I hear? Was it just an illusion?

The furry creature jumped off Reeny's lap and spun me around as if it were mocking me. I hated hearing the chimes in its every move. No, it didn't! It was more like I hated that cat.
“What's wrong?” Reeny asked confused.
“You didn't hear that? Someone shouted just now Reeny!” I said confused. There was no one here. “The sound was really clear even right in my ear!”

Reeny looked at me confused. That's when I realized. I was the only one who heard that scream. Just me! I looked around the room nervously. What was this? Why was I the only one who heard it? Was my illusion getting stronger until it happened in the daytime? I looked at the stupid cat again. It had stopped circling me. It was sleeping on its bed. Staring at me with its yellow eyes. No! It was too crazy for me to believe what I saw. So, what was that?
“I think I should go home,” I said.

I felt my throat go dry. What happened with Ursa Major's eyes, the explosion, and even the sound of people screaming made no sense to my ears. Then I turned around and left Reeny. I could see Reeny with a confused look on her face.
“Key! Are you alright?” Reeny asked anxiously.
I turned around for a moment. “I guess, I just need to rest. Let's play next time.”
I didn't wait for Reeny's answer. I walked out of her room and continued walking until I was out of her house. I put my hands in my jacket pockets to hide my uneasy feelings. To be honest, I was also confused by what happened just now. Those eyes, Ursa Major's eyes were so strange. That blue flash, how strange! I never liked that cat to begin with. Now I'm sure, Ursa Major has a big secret. Oh, I sound more and more crazy!

I walked down the hall to my house. The safest place for furry creatures. I zipped up my jacket. I don't know, I feel followed. I put on my hoodie jacket and then I put my hands back into my jacket hoping that the atmosphere would change.
Ever since I saw the eyes of the Ursa major, my body cooled down. I looked at the children playing on the street. I sighed when I saw the furry creature sitting at the end of the field. Oh my! How many cats are there on this earth?

I quickened my pace. I'm sick of it! So sick of that furry creature. I turned the corner and sure enough! The furry creatures are appearing more and more. On the rooftops, on the terraces, on the streets, on the trees, the cats were all over the place and I felt them staring at me.
I smiled at the gate of my house. I ran when I saw the gate. I entered the house as fast as I could. I can still vividly remember the blue glint in the furry creature's eyes. It wasn't an ordinary flash. Vaguely, I saw a strange place. Beautiful to me but funny. At a glance, I saw a house with an unsymmetrical shape with pastel colors. But, that place was on fire. The explosion was so big and I felt the urge to cry as I remembered their screams and cries.

No! A place like that is just a fantasy. It only exists in fairy tales. Could I be hallucinating again? I have to tell my mom about this tomorrow. I quickly lay down on my bed. My heart was still pounding and I buried my face into the pillow. No! Why do I want to cry?
I looked up at the ceiling. Trying to calm my mind. To get away from the crazy hallucinations that were haunting me a little. At least the hallucination - the fairy tale world - was completely absurd. I wanted to deny it. But, the hallucinations I was experiencing were getting stronger.
I turned around and covered my eyes with my hands. There was only one explanation for all this. I think I need a psychiatrist.
