Ch. 13Puer o glass

The oval creatures turned purple again. Their feathers waved delicately in the water and I lost my ability to walk in the lake. I felt light and my sA returned to floating in the water. I glanced at my sword, it had faded into a speck of dust. In fact, I quite liked the sword. I laughed sarcastically. So funny! Who would believe I was sword-fighting at the bottom of a lake with a spiny creature? I sighed. Is it all over?

The oval creatures returned to their pink color. Soon, the creatures changed shape. They were spherical like ruru. The creepy impression I felt earlier had disappeared. I still didn't get my answer. However, just like before, they surrounded me. A kind of force surrounded us until the water around us swirled. I stared at them warily while pulling Ruru closer. In fact, all they did was help me and Ruru rise to the surface.

"It's okay, Key, they're normal," Ruru's quiet voice tried to calm me down.

Another crazy thing, I'm riding on water that forms a spinning circle. Oh, I'm like a goddess who magically appeared! But, I'm too tired to comment on all this weirdness.

Once on the surface, they closed their little eyes. Saying something I didn't understand. I tried to take in as much air as I could. I've never missed land this much. But, I'm sure this is a good response considering I'm fighting for my life and death underwater.

Then, out of nowhere, a crystal box floated above me. I looked at the box. I wasn't sure what to do. Then, as if taking a cue from Ruru I quickly grabbed it. The box contained a white pearl bracelet. I looked at the creatures and put it on. They did not say anything. I suspected that she would speak in a sweet voice like Ruru. But, I was wrong. After that, the creatures returned to their origin. I looked at my bracelet.

"You're lucky!" said Aeru. I don't understand where I got lucky.

"What?"

"Melody Ball, is one of the strongest creatures here. If she gave you something, it must be something very useful." Aeru said. I think I'm going crazy because I'm getting used to furry creatures talking.

"Looks like it's puer o glass, Ruru!" said Ruru. Ruru flew around the box and floated. Good thing she's cute!

"Puer o glass?" I looked at Ruru in confusion.

"Yes. That's the name of the bracelet, Ruru! The bracelet can emit a series of melodies that are useful for neutralizing the effects of agrasuuman magic. This bracelet is both healing and protective, Ruru!" said Ruru.

I looked at the bracelet. There were 3 pearls connected by some kind of metal. The center pearl is bigger than the others. I wasn't sure what kind of gift I was getting. However, like the sword at the bottom of the lake earlier, I could feel the strong pull of this bracelet. As if, this bracelet was an old item of mine that I had lost.

"I'm not sure if I'm worthy of keeping something this important" I said while staring at the puer o glass. "If this is indeed a heirloom of this world, wouldn't it be excessive to give it to a stranger like me?"

"Ruru is right! And, that bracelet can also control your opponent's mind," Aeru said."The problem is, the bracelet is yours now. It's useless if you're not the one wearing it. Besides, not everyone can wear it. Extra points, it's cute!"

I furrowed my brow. "I guess I'll keep it until I find someone who can wear it."

Aeru gave me a disapproving look.

"Are you still not sure you're not the chosen one?"

The way Ruru mentioned the chosen one scared me. I tried to ignore it. My intention so far is only to find Ursa Major and return to my world. That's all! But, I looked at the bracelet. It's beautiful in my opinion. Some things were bothering me. I wondered why I could fight them. I mean, how did I know there would be a sword there? How did I know the grass would protect me? Why did they give me this bracelet?

"You, are destined to help us, Ruru!" said Ruru.

I looked at Ruru in surprise. To be honest, I don't understand what Ruru is saying.I'm destined to help them? What does that mean?

"I need to explain!I, stuck here! It's all because of Ursa Major!" I said irritably.

"Do you realize, you've been chosen by Key!" said Aeru.

"You're wrong! It was all a coincidence," I said stubbornly.

"It's not a coincidence, Key! You and Ruru can be one," said Aeru.

"What do you mean?"I asked confused.

Aeru crawled over to me and sat looking at me like a lion. She looked at Ruru and me in turn as if asking Ruru for permission to tell me everything.

"You remember when you helped me? Don't you remember that these grains were red at first?" Aeru pointed at the grains beside her eyes.

I froze, trying to remember. My brain replayed the incident at the bush with the flaming fruit. Yes, I remember, those grains were red to begin with. Then, after I helped Aeru, they turned white.

"At that time, I was under the control of an agrasuuman. You have the power to fight it! An ordinary person can't escape the agrasuuman's influence, Key!" said Aeru excitedly.

I didn't have the heart to discourage her. But, I have no ambition to be the chosen one or the hero. What a pity!

"You should know, Ruru is an energy pill. It will give you energy when you need it. For example, like at the lake and no one can shake off the agrasuuman's influence except the chosen ones," Aeru said.

"Oh, I'm really sorry I couldn't help you guys earlier" I ignored Aeru's last sentence. "Oh great, my peaceful little world is gone!" I lamented.

"Now, we need to get to Paravel Bay as soon as possible" Aeru said. "My hunch is not good. Apparently, he's really after you.

"I nodded.I have to find a way back to my world. This isn't my world! To be honest, this isn't my war either. Agrasuuman? I don't have a destiny with him. I am not the chosen one. They, can't expect much from me! I'm sure, there are many humans out there who are happy to enter this furry world. Now, what should I do? Should I help them?

I stared at the puer o glass that was sweetly coiled on my bracelet. Those pearls are so pretty. Should I help them? I closed my eyes, the images of ruru, aeru and melody ball alternately filled the memory space in my brain then opened my eyes slowly. But, what do I do when I come back? Everything will be better if I wake up from my sleep, on my soft bed. What if this is real and I've already closed my eyes? Oh, Shit! Damn, Key! Dammit! Is this the right decision?
