Ch. 11Hypnotized

I couldn't take my eyes off the view. Especially when the dots of light moved around like stars. The lake looked so beautiful and shone in the darkness. I looked at the sky.The blue sky with pastel purple clouds that emitted golden powder had now turned into a black sky. Just like night on earth, I snorted. At least, there was one thing Qahara and Earth had in common. The sky is black at night. Does Qahara also have a sun?

"We'll spend the night here" said Aeru.

I looked at Aeru and Ruru in turn. I woke up from my reverie. Moments later, I realized. Aeru and Ruru are furry creatures. Of course they won't be cold tonight. But, me? I'm only wearing pajamas with my sleeping slippers. Great! I'm a homeless in a single night. But, I guess, I can't do anything with that. Somehow, I think, being in Paravel Bay would be warmer than being here.

I turned my head. When I turned my head, Aeru and Ruru were already fast asleep. I took a deep breath then walked towards the rocks separating the land and the lake in front of me. I bit my lip then folded my legs. Taking in the scenery before me. It felt peaceful looking at the lake. I did need some rest.

The night air began to prick my skin. I sighed and started rubbing my body. Hoping that warmth would just flow into my body. Then, the points of light gathered. It got closer and closer and stopped right in front of me. I stare at those points of light. Why did they moving so fast? Was my vision blurry?

It turned out that the points of light came from an oval-shaped creature. Do you believe that creature is also furry? Unlike the ruru, the creature had small eyes with antennae on its head. It also had a pair of small wings. It flew around me.

After the creature was 1 m away, it opened its small mouth. A diamond-shaped object came out of the creature's mouth. I stared at it mesmerized by its shape.Slowly, my hand floated up and touched one of them. Ting! A clank sounded. I blinked my eyes and touched another diamond. Ting! This time the clink sounded lower than before.Soon, another tinkle began to sound. Forming a melody. I closed my eyes to enjoy the music that greeted my eardrums.

More and more, the instrument slowed down. Letting out a sad song. For some reason, the deeper I listened to the song, the more my consciousness disappeared. After the song stopped, I opened my eyes. But I was just silent. My mind was completely blank at that moment.

A high-pitched clanking sounded. I was standing on a large rock. The second clank came again. I took off my bedroom slippers. Another clink sounded. My feet stepped into the lake. Along with the other clinks, my feet stepped into the center of the lake without me realizing it.

Aeru woke up from his sleep. He looked at his surroundings and then fell silent. He felt that something was wrong. He got up from his sleep and looked at the forest. He was looking for me!Not sensing my presence, Aeru frantically looked around. As soon as she turned around, Aeru was shocked to find me standing almost in the middle of the lake, almost drowned. The lake water had covered my neck.

"Key!" called Aeru.

Ruru, who was sleeping, woke up when he heard Aeru's shout. Upon seeing me, Ruru immediately flew over to me. Her sweet voice tried to wake me up but, the instrument came back and took over my consciousness.

I took another step. As I took more steps, the water level rose until it reached my lips. Disturbed by Ruru's presence, the furry creature stared at Ruru with its small red eyes.

The instrument sounded again. Suddenly, Ruru felt pain. Their eyes closed as a small strangled sound kept coming out of his mouth. The faster the tempo of the instrument, the more pain Ruru felt. Increasingly, the tips of her fur turned white.

"Key!" Aeru shouted again. This time, louder than before.

I took another step. Ruru's fur turned white again. His red lips turned white. Almost his entire body turned white due to the pain he felt.

The moment Ruru felt the pain at its peak, I felt an electric shock in my head. The shock was strong enough to make my ears ring violently and my vision blur. However, a moment later I came to my senses.

I looked at the oval creatures before me in confusion. What was I doing in the lake? Realizing the danger, I stepped back from the middle of the lake. However, moments later, I realized Ruru's presence.

I blinked my eyes. Why did Ruru's fur turn white? Whatever happened, I knew Ruru was in pain judging from his face. I panicked looking at Ruru. What should I do?

I pulled Ruru up and tried to resuscitate him. But, Ruru's fur continued to turn white as he lost consciousness. This is not good!

"Ruru! Hey! Wake up! Ruru!" I called out in panic.

As I tried to rouse Ruru, the oval creature before me began to get angry. The sharp screeching sound of instruments deafened my ears. I realized that Ruru and I were not alone. The furry oval creatures were getting closer. They were flying just like Ruru. Their small red eyes stared at me intently. Slowly, its purple and pink fur turned into a red color. Right from its lips, I saw its fangs extending up. What is the meaning of all this?
