Alex had just returned from the convenience store and was confronted by Mrs. Sandra. His mother-in-law wanted to check all the things he had bought earlier at the minimarket.

"Is this complete? Isn't there anything left behind?" asked Mrs. Sandra.

"Nothing, Mom. Everything is complete."

"Good then. Just watch out if you leave anything behind." Mrs. Sandra looked at Alex with a sharp look.

Alex just kept quiet and didn't say much. However, he had seen Bram's car parked in the yard. Had Helena gone home? But where was his wife?

"Mom?" called Alex.

"What?" replied Mrs. Sandra curtly.

"Helena's back already, Mom?"

"Don't ask!"

Alex immediately looked for his wife in the room. Perhaps Helena was already there. But he heard a sighing sound. His mind was already in chaos. He grabbed the doorknob and quickly opened the door.

"Oh my God, Helena ...." Alex was shocked at what he had just seen. His wife was making love to Bram in the room.

They were both naked in front of Alex's eyes. Of course, he was furious to see them acting like this. Now, his hands were clenched tightly and his breathing was rapid. Helena and Bram put on their clothes.

"How dare you trespass into my room?" said Helena as she put on her bra.

"Why are you doing this to me, Hel? You made love to Bram in front of my eyes."

"Yeah, so what? Do you mind if I'm with Bram?"

"I'm your husband, Hel. Remember?"

The look on Alex's face was somber. He was very disappointed because of Helena's arbitrary attitude towards him. How dare his wife make love to another man? While he wanted to be spoiled, he was not treated properly.

"I love Bram. Do you understand?"

"But why did you want to marry me in the first place if you love Bram?" Alex was so disappointed.

"I just wanted to use you, nothing more. Loving a geeky guy like you is impossible for me." Helena gyrated her waist in front of Alex.

Now, Bram was beside his wife. The man also openly embraced Helena's body in front of his own eyes. It was a disgusting sight for him.

"Hel, realize ... I'm still your husband."

Alex wanted to cry as loudly as he could, but he held back the tears. He didn't want to cry in front of the two of them.

"Yes, you're still my husband. But, it's useless if I don't love you!"

Bram continued to laugh beside Helena. The man probably felt happy to see Alex suffering like this. Not being considered by one's own wife certainly hurts. Helena and Bram had already put on their clothes.

"You're so mean, Hel!"

"Whatever you want to say, Lex. The important thing is that Bram and I love each other."

Helena's words cut to the heart. He couldn't accept this. Alex felt very hurt.

"No matter what, you're still my wife, Hel!"

Apparently, Helena didn't want to hear any more of his words. She raised her index finger to her lips, telling Alex to shut up.

"Better, you don't have to talk so much! Whoever I want to be with, that's my right. Not yours!" Helena pointed at Alex.

Then, Helena invited the man to leave the room. Alex couldn't hold back the tears and they fell down his cheeks. He was tired of living like this. This house was full of suffering. Was this his destiny?

Apparently, Helena was going to leave this house again. Who knows where they'll go? Alex walked up the stairs quickly, so he could catch up with Helena. However, his steps were suddenly intercepted by his mother-in-law when he was in the living room.

"Alex, why are you running away?"

"Mom, sorry ... I have to catch up with Helena." His steps were blocked by Mrs. Sandra.

"It's too late! Helena and Bram have already left!"

"What, mom?" Alex was really disappointed, why did Mrs. Sandra not even hold Helena back? His mother-in-law gave permission for Helena to be with that man.

"Didn't you hear? They already left!"

"Why did you let them go? Why didn't you restrain Helena?"

"Well, what's the point? Helena was happy to be with Bram. So, why should you stop them?"

Really, hearing answers like that made Alex not feel satisfied. In fact, his heart hurt even more after listening to Mrs. Sandra's words. The mother-in-law even likes Bram more than Alex.

"You should be self-aware! You are a nerd! She's better off with other men out there, many of whom are handsome and rich." Mrs. Sandra said some striking words.

How much longer would he stay in this house? Alex always didn't get his due. There were only insults and yells that he received.

"Ahh, talking to you will never end! Having a son-in-law is so stupid!"

Alex clenched his hands together silently. He was very angry at the moment. As a result, his mother-in-law preferred to leave his presence right now. His feelings and thoughts were all over the place. How cruel Helena was treating his now.

Helena had just returned home. The woman called out to Alex in a high tone. There was no gentle treatment at all.

"Prepare some warm water, I want to take a shower now!" Helena ordered.

"No way!" replied Alex.

Finally, he had the courage to refuse too, after all this time of submission to his wife. His self-esteem was going down.

"Wow, how dare you resist me?!"

"I still can't accept that you left with another man. My heart hurts, Hel." Alex tried to hold back the tears.

The woman laughed in Alex's face. He had outlived his patience. He took off his glasses and threw them on the floor. And the glasses broke. Helena immediately fell silent and looked at him.

"I was never appreciated in this house as a daughter-in-law or as a husband. So, let's just get a divorce. Easy, right?"

His heart was broken and as he spoke to Helena, his eyes burned. He cried because he had been mistreated. Helena fought back and yelled at him.

"It's good that you want to divorce me, no problem at all. I can be free with Bram too."

Alex clenched his fists tightly. His heart has been hurting so far. He agreed to separate from Helena because he could no longer stand having a relationship that was not compatible at all. He was just being played by that woman. What an unlucky fate!
