Ch. 5Chapter 5: Wounds don't bleed

Spreading her mat on the green grass enjoying the beautiful natural scenery, Seiran smiled happily at being able to see all the beauty of nature.

The girl watched her lover sitting with one leg bent, the man did not sit on the mat but leaned against a tree.

When exposed to sunlight, the golden yellow hair looks like it's blending together.

"He's really handsome."

Ferdinand looked at Seiran with a fake smile. He hoped that Fransis was himself and would get a lover like that girl.

"Miss, do you really love Fransis?"

Seiran's gaze turned to the green grass in front of her, she bent her knees and hugged her knees.

"Love? I don't know."

Ferdinand frowned, he thought they were a couple who loved each other, but with the girl's answer, he felt unsure.

"I used to think he was very caring and gentle, I never thought what the face of the person looking after me would look like." Seira spoke again.

"Isn't Francis gentle now?" Ferdinand asked curiously.

Seiran shook her head. "Francis is like a different person, he is often silent and no longer humorous. He used to make me laugh with his attitude."

Ferdinand wasn't sure that his best friend could make people laugh. Where could such a cold and fierce attitude make people laugh?

"Then why did Miss keep looking at him?"

Seira tilted her head and smiled. "This is the first time I've seen a man so handsome."

""That's natural, because Miss couldn't see before," replied Ferdinand, feeling there was nothing strange.

"You're wrong, before I met Fransis I wasn't blind. Like you guys, I could see, but after that incident..."

As if he didn't want to continue his words, Siran lowered his head again.

"So how could Miss be blind?" Ferdinand asked curiously.

"Why are you curious about people's affairs?"

Siran and Ferdinand raised their eyes to look at the figure of a tall, sturdy man in front of them, who knew how long the man had been standing there.

Fransis sat down next to Seiran. His head was starting to ache, but he didn't want the girl he loved to know.

Seiran turned to Fransis, she changed her sitting position, her legs stretched out, remembering when she was blind, Fransis liked to sleep on her lap.

Seiran patted her lap to signal Fransis.

The golden-haired man put his head on Seiran's lap, bent one leg and lay looking at the blue sky.

"Ran-Ran."

"Yes." Seiran raised her hand to touch Fransis' hair, gently stroking the man's hair.

"Do you love me?"

Seiran was startled by Fransis' question. She turned to Ferdinand because they were both asking the same question.

Fransis' vision became blurry again for a few moments, then returned to normal. He smiled sadly at the current condition of his body.

"Why do you ask that, Yellow?" It wasn't Seiran who answered but Ferdinand.

Seira turned her attention back to Fransis, the girl frowned at her lover's pale face.

"Frans, are you okay?"

"Hm."

Ferdinand was annoyed because his question was not answered. "Francis, I asked you!"

"Why should I answer your question?" Francis replied .

Ferdinand clenched his jaw, his best friend always annoyed him.

"Why should I have a friend like you? Why don't you just die?"

Fransis smiled faintly, sometimes he felt that he was always alone, many people didn't like him, approaching him only for money.

"If you love someone because they are handsome, it means you are just amazed. If you love someone because of kindness, it is not love but reciprocation. If you love someone because of wealth, it is not love but material. Because love is a feeling in the heart towards someone without conditions."

The man closed his eyes as the pain became sharper, while Seiran was silent as he digested Fransis' words.

"So actually do I not love him?" The girl asked herself.

"Let me sleep for a while," said Fransis.

The pain in his head got worse, cold sweat soaked his body until he couldn't stand it, and he fell unconscious.

Seiran watched Fransis. She didn't know that the man wasn't sleeping but had fainted.

Ferdinand felt there was something strange about Fransis. He often noticed when his friend was sleeping, even when he was tired.

Fransis looked pale and weak, even though when his friend was sleeping, he never lost his alertness.

"Frans, are you really sleeping?"

Seira looked at Ferdinand in surprise. "Why ask like that? Didn't he say it himself?"

Ferdinand approached Fransis, took the man's hand and checked his pulse.

"Why is your pulse so weak? There's something wrong, it's better to immediately take Fransis to the nearest hospital."

Seira was surprised. She looked back at Fransis. The man remained silent without any movement.

Seira was silent when Ferdinand helped Fransis get up and supported her. She was increasingly convinced that there was something wrong with her lover.

Ferdinand took Fransis to the nearest hospital. He and Seiran waited anxiously.

After the doctor came out, they approached the doctor and asked about Fransis' condition.

"Doctor, what about my best friend?"

The doctor smiled. "The patient is conscious, but still weak."

"Can we see it?" asked Siran.

The doctor nodded, then left the two of them.

Seira and Ferdinand entered the room, and Fransis was seen straightening his clothes.

The man still looked weak but was reluctant to lie down.

"I'm fine."

Seiran and Ferdinand hadn't asked anything but Fransis had said something first.

Seira walked over to Fransis and grabbed the man's hand. "Why did you faint earlier?"

"That's right, Frans. You said you wanted to sleep, but it turns out you fainted. Are you sick?" Ferdinand asked, walking quickly towards the man.

Fransis was shocked. Ferdinand easily guessed that, but he didn't want anyone to know about his body condition.

"I was sleeping, you guys are overdoing it. Aren't I fine now?"

Ferdinand couldn't just believe it, but he knew that the man would not tell the truth.

"Okay, now where are you going?"

"Marry."

Seiran and Ferdinand were shocked. They turned their attention to the man with golden yellow hair.

"Marry?"

Fransis turned his attention to Seiran. "Yes, today I will marry you. Haven't you always wanted to be my wife?"

"Yes, but not that fast, Frans. I..." Seiran was confused about what to say, she herself wasn't sure that her feelings for Fransis were love.

"What's wrong? Don't you love me?" Francis asked questioningly.

Seira looked away, avoiding those sapphire eyes.

"No, it's not like that. It's just that it's too fast."

"Our 5 years together, is that too fast?" replied Francis.

Seira took a deep breath then looked back at Fransis. "I know, but I'm not sure that my feelings for you are love. What if it's all just gratitude?"

Fransis stared at the girl silently. He didn't know what to say. It hurt but didn't bleed.
