Ch. 7Olsen Heraklees 2

Elsewhere, Moran, having received little information on what happened to baby Olsen, immediately went to meet the Doctor handling his son.

Fortunately, the Doctor wasn't hard to find, and quickly explained the condition of his son.

Although he was told that it was a common occurrence and the procedures were not dangerous, Moran's worry as a father could not be dispelled.

The handsome man decided to proceed with the surgery for his son.

Although the procedure was typically done when the patient was six months old, the Doctor explained that in certain situations, it could be done earlier.

"Alright sir, I'll schedule it."

"Thank you," replied Moran.

After meeting Doctor Oscar, Moran immediately arranged for someone to handle everything while he went back to where his son was.

In the room, Moran spent time with his son until the hospital staff asked him to wait elsewhere.

In a special room that didn't allow anyone to roam freely, even family members.

Moran sat in the waiting room not far from his son's room, with many thoughts running through his mind, until the sound of footsteps made the handsome man lift his gaze to see who had arrived.

From a distance, Jasson and Neil walked quickly towards him.

"Moran, what happened?" Neil asked upon arrival.

"There's a slight issue with his heart," Moran replied.

"... " Neil remained silent, choosing to sit beside the handsome man.

Neil looked at Moran and Jasson, who were standing in turn.

"Moran, you have us here. Stay calm; everything will be okay. He's a strong child," Neil said, reaching for Moran's clenched hands.

"I couldn't even save his mother," Moran replied, reminiscing about the day when he said the child would be fine.

The day he held his wife's hand while they rushed to the hospital, a day filled with regret for the handsome man.

"Moran, it's not your fault. Don't burden yourself with thoughts like that," Jasson, a long-time friend of the handsome man, reassured him.

Although Moran never explained what actually happened, as a friend, Jasson understood enough.

"Relax, everyone here has a good reputation," Jasson continued while patting Moran's tense shoulder.

The three men bound by friendship spent some time together.

Moran, Neil, and Jasson eventually chose to go home after the hospital ensured when the surgery would be performed.

Before leaving, Moran gazed at the building for a long time. The feeling of tightness returned to his chest as the handsome man got into the car with a long exhale.

The supportive facilities and medical staff provided by the hospital did not make the handsome man feel well.

Although he had left the hospital a while ago, and someone was still watching over Olsen, everything at the hospital continued to occupy his thoughts.

"Stay strong, Olsen," Moran whispered.

The next day, Moran returned to the hospital.

The surgery would be performed, and not only Moran, but Neil also closed his bakery for the day to accompany Moran. As for Jasson, he could not come since Moran had entrusted him with some matters.

As time passed, Moran, Neil, and the woman who had become part of the family in the past few months displayed tense expressions.

They waited with mixed emotions as the cute little baby fought for his very young life.

Until the red light above the door went out, seemingly allowing them to breathe again, a signal that indicated the surgery had been completed.

Moran and Neil stood up from their seats, waiting for the paramedics who handled the baby to come out and explain what had transpired inside.

"Mr. Moran, congratulations, everything went well. I told you that you have a very strong child," the Doctor said with a smile.

"... " Moran couldn't speak, the news seemed to lift a heavy weight off his heart.

"Thank you for your hard work, Doctor," Neil replied, speaking on behalf of Moran.

"There's no need to go overboard; it's my duty," Oscar said, smiling again at the graceful and gentle figure.

"Well then, I'll take my leave," Oscar said, exchanging glances with the two before exiting.

"Thank you, Doctor," Moran halted the Doctor.

"... " Dr. Oscar nodded and turned to leave for his room to rest.

"Oscar, how did it go? Did everything go smoothly?" Sean asked as he opened the door to his friend's private room.

"Sean, you startled me," Oscar exclaimed, taken aback from his seat.

"I'm sorry, can you tell me if everything is okay?" Sean quickly entered and sat in front of the Doctor, who indirectly was his senior.

"Well, why are you so concerned?" Oscar asked, folding his arms.

"It's because I have been involved since his birth; I think it's natural." Sean replied.

"Why did you come all the way to see me?"

"I happened to be around here," Sean replied, avoiding the disdainful gaze directed at him.

"Alright, then, he's fine. So, you don't need to worry anymore," Oscar replied.

"... " Sean remained silent, feeling relieved by the news.

"Olsen is fortunate to be directly cared for by you," Sean mused internally.

"Mm, but I still feel it's creating pressure on him. I could even see it from his expression," Oscar continued.

"Moran?" Sean asked abruptly, raising his gaze to face the Doctor in front of him.

"Yes, Moran Heraklees. You remembered his name well," Oscar answered.

"... " Sean sealed his lips shut, feeling cornered by the Doctor's statement.

Sean spent a little more time discussing other topics before leaving the room.

After bidding farewell for something else, the young Doctor's steps turned towards a different direction.

What Oscar said unconsciously sparked a curiosity in him to see something he had been avoiding before.

Shortly after, the Doctor stopped at one of the rooms, trying to see from behind the glass into where Olsen was.

"Moran, it's okay," Neil muttered, holding the small baby's arm firmly as he leaned his head, gazing at the little baby.
