An emergency operation was underway, a woman causing concern for one of the doctors involved.
"Quick, stop the bleeding!!"
The command made the young doctor slightly panic, urging his colleagues to move faster.
"Doctor, her heart rate is dropping."
Another voice chimed in, making the young doctor's face pale even more.
"Please hold on, I beg you," the young doctor murmured.
A pregnant woman had arrived with severe bleeding. Now she lay unconscious on the operating table, creating a critical situation in the cold room.
Paramedics were fighting to save both the mother and her unborn baby. The young doctor, who had only been on the job for a few months, looked pale as he heard statements about the worsening condition of the patient.
A handsome doctor, despite his relatively young age, was quite talented. With the experience and education from a prestigious institution abroad, he was usually calm in his actions.
But today, the pregnant woman made him uneasy. The young doctor, along with the entire team, did their best to save both lives. They were racing against time, with the mother's weakening condition diverting his attention.
Their hard work paid off, and they managed to save the baby. The doctor lifted the tiny baby from the mother's womb, handed it to a nurse to be cleaned, and refocused on the mother.
"You must survive," the doctor murmured to himself while monitoring the situation.
"Quick, do it," the doctor instructed while closing the wound and trying to stop the bleeding. The woman had several complications, making the bleeding hard to control. Sepsis caused her blood pressure to drop drastically, potentially damaging other organs as her immune system aggressively fought the inflammation.
"No, no... you can't give up," whispered the doctor as the woman's body was lifted by the defibrillator to restart her heart.
"Try again," the doctor requested. Everyone in the room was doing their best, but despite their maximum efforts, fate had a different plan. The doctor was fixated on the monitor, watching the patient's condition. His eyes darted between the woman and the monitor, tension and paleness visible on his face.
"Doctor, it's impossible now. She's gone," one of them said, trying to stop the doctor's efforts.
"Wake up, please wake up!!" he pleaded, using the defibrillator once more.
"Sean!! What is wrong with you? Calm down," another doctor, also involved in the operation, pulled the young doctor back.
"She can't go," Sean replied.
"Hey, snap out of it. This isn't the first time this has happened," the other doctor responded.
"..." Sean fell silent, his gaze fixed on the cleaned baby boy.
Sean approached the baby, ignoring his puzzled colleagues. In front of the baby, his beautiful eyes began to glisten with tears as he gazed at the newborn.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't save your mother," Sean murmured to the baby boy.
"You're very handsome," Sean said, holding the tiny fingers of the baby.
"..."
Sean could no longer hold back his tears, the warm droplets escaping his beautiful eyes. The scene left his colleagues confused about what was happening to the young doctor.
"Sean, you should calm down. I'll handle this for you," someone said, placing a hand on the handsome man's shoulder.
"Oscar, thank you," Sean replied, turning to the handsome man who had always helped him since he started his job.
"..." Oscar smiled, patting his friend's shoulder and returning to the operating table.
Elsewhere, a grown man sat alone, his face tense with anticipation. The handsome man looked extremely worried, ignoring the blood stains on his expensive clothes. He sat with one leg constantly moving, making his body seem to tremble.
"Moran!!" Someone came running from the end of the corridor.
"Jasson." One word escaped the lips of the man who had been waiting alone.
"What happened?" Jasson asked the man who made him leave the party.
"I didn't expect this to happen," Moran said, roughly wiping his face.
"Forget about that, just calm yourself," Jasson replied, trying to understand what had happened, not wanting to force the man to talk at this moment.
They waited in silence for a while, neither speaking. Though the room was bright, the night wind brought a chilling cold. Moran and Jasson waited quietly until the door to the room opened shortly after. Several female nurses emerged, carrying a small baby.
"Sir, this is your baby. But due to the premature birth and complications, he needs further care," one of them said.
"..." Moran was speechless, the tiny baby rendering him mute.
Gazing at the small face for the first time, Moran was momentarily distracted from what had happened.
The handsome man stared in silence, coming back to reality as footsteps approached from inside the room. The medical team came out with tense faces, approaching him.
One of them delivered the sad news and apologized for failing to save his wife. The news shook the handsome man, causing him to step back until his body hit the cold wall behind him.
"No, this can't be true!!" he murmured.
The tall man leaned against the cold wall, roughly rubbing his hair and face. The news had crushed the joy he felt when he saw the newborn baby, who was now out of sight.
"Jasson, how could this happen?" Moran whispered to the man who had always been by his side. Jasson embraced the grieving man, unsure of what to say. He asked Moran to wait while he took care of things. "..." Moran stayed silent, sitting quietly and trying to understand what was happening.
In his confusion, he heard footsteps from inside again. The handsome man lifted his gaze to see who was approaching. "Moran, I'm so sorry for your loss," the approaching figure said, stopping in front of him.
The handsome man stood up, seeing the approaching figure. His eyes widened, his deep blue eyes fully visible.
Moran stared intently at the figure that had been gone for so long, disappearing without a trace after they parted ways.
The presence of the person made his heart race, stirring many emotions in him. All the beautiful memories they once shared resurfaced, but since that person disappeared, those memories had tormented him.
"Sean…”
