RAVELINE POV
From the passenger seat in Sebastian's car, I could see Amelie smiling as she watched me walk side by side with Sebastian. Jerry and his two assistants followed closely behind us. It seemed like they were also coming to Sebastian’s house to do his mother's makeup.
"Thank you..." I said in a soft voice.
Sebastian, walking beside me, immediately turned his head toward me. "Thank you for what, El?"
"For agreeing to marry me, even though I'm nothing like your ideal type of woman..."
"The reason I chose to marry you is actually just one." Sebastian wore a faint smile on his lips, making his face look adorable.
I quickly lowered my gaze and asked softly, "What’s that reason... if I may know?"
"From the moment I met you as Bebi, I immediately felt a sense of comfort, like we already knew each other. Maybe that’s what made me accept both your good and bad sides. It felt like I had found someone who was a part of me. And even when you became El, that feeling never changed. That’s why I panicked and rushed to propose to Bebi—because I was afraid I’d end up choosing El..."
I pouted, "Hmph, what kind of reason is that?" We both laughed together.
"Hmm, what are you two talking about? So serious, then suddenly laughing together." Amelie asked as soon as Sebastian and I got in and sat in the car.
"Kids aren’t allowed to meddle!" Sebastian replied while starting the engine.
Hearing that, Amelie reached for my arm. I turned toward her from the front passenger seat. "What is it?" I asked.
"Later... after you guys are officially married, please let me still act casual around you like I always have."
"Oh gosh, Mel. I thought it was something serious. Even after the wedding, I’ll still be the same El. I’ll still be your best friend."
Amelie smiled sweetly. I could see her cheerfulness return.
Honestly, deciding to get married was never an easy choice for me. Ever since I met Mr. B, I don't know why, but I immediately felt like I was falling in love with him. My fear of marriage—the risks, the fights, the unhappiness, even divorce—vanished in an instant. It made me believe this was the first time I was truly in love.
**
"Oh my God, Raveline..." Sebastian’s mother rushed over to greet me with a hug as soon as the three of us entered the house. "You look so beautiful..." She gently stroked my arm.
"What about me? I look pretty too, right, Mom?" Amelie giggled, hooking her arm through mine.
"You always ruin the emotional mood. Yes, yes, you’re beautiful. How could a handsome brother like Sebastian have an ugly sister?" Sebastian teased Amelie.
"Geez, what kind of compliment is that?" Amelie pouted. "Come on, El, let’s go inside so Sebastian can take care of the preparations. You two need to get married quickly anyway. Besides, Mom needs to get her makeup done and change."
What Amelie said made sense. I followed her into the family room to wait.
"Congratulations, El. I hope you feel at home and comfortable being a part of our imperfect big family." Amelie smiled.
"I should be the one thanking you. Thank you for welcoming me into your family."
"Welcome to our family, dear sister-in-law..." Amelie teased.
"Ew, stop calling me that. It sounds so weird." I chuckled.
"Oh, right! El, I forgot—Sebastian told me to let you know earlier." Amelie adjusted her sitting position. "Don’t worry, even though the wedding will be simple, Sebastian is already working on the legal documents so it will be officially recognized by the state."
Hearing Amelie’s explanation made me feel like a priority.
"You brought your ID, right, El?" Amelie asked. "Let me borrow it for the paperwork." She then asked me a few questions to complete the civil registry forms. Once everything was answered, Amelie excused herself to meet with the city data board officials.
I sat quietly, waiting for Amelie to return. After a few minutes, one of Jerry’s assistants approached me. "Honey, let me touch up your makeup a bit before the ceremony starts." I nodded and let her work.
I didn’t expect this spontaneous wedding to have so many attendees. Around twenty-five guests showed up and shared in my joy.
Half an hour later, when everything was ready, Sebastian came over to me. "El, don’t worry. I’ll handle all your legal paperwork so our marriage is recognized by the state."
The religious ceremony went smoothly. The guests expressed their joy as Sebastian successfully recited his wedding vows. I was officially Sebastian Watter’s wife.
"Come on, El, let’s eat." Sebastian’s mother took my hand and led me to a table filled with delicious-looking dishes.
"You haven’t had lunch yet, right? Look at Amelie—she’s already in line for snacks." She pointed at Amelie, who was busy with the food. "Let Sebastian handle the guests from the civil office so your marriage is also legally recognized."
"Yes, Ma'am. Amelie and Sebastian already told me."
"Oh, good. Then let’s just focus on eating now." I nodded and followed her lead to enjoy the food.
While I was enjoying my meal, Sebastian walked up with a big grin and sat beside me.
"Aaaa..." The handsome man who was now my husband opened his mouth wide while looking at me, pointing to a piece of meat on my plate.
"This one?" I asked, cutting a piece of meat, adding some sauce, and feeding it to him slowly.
"It tastes way better when it’s fed by lovely wife." He said the word "wife" so joyfully, it made my cheeks burn.
"Gosh, stop being so cheesy," I murmured.
"I’m serious, El. Here try it yourself..." Sebastian grabbed my plate and fork, cut a piece of meat, and fed it to me. I opened my mouth and took the bite. Oh my... he was right. It *did* taste different. Something felt off in a good way as I chewed slowly, flustered.
"How is it? Taste Different, right? Let me feed you instead..." Sebastian began cutting more pieces.
Right then, I heard Bryanta’s stomach growl.
"See? Your own stomach’s protesting. Go get your own food before you faint." I tried to take my plate back.
"No, it’s fine. Let’s just eat together." Sebastian held my hand to stop me.
"Oh my Gosh, the newlyweds are fighting over meat..." Amelie laughed as she approached and saw us struggling over the plate.
