After dinner, we lined up neatly to listen to the remarks of the chairman of the committee.

"Good evening, fellow freshmen. As the chairman of this year's new student introduction committee, let me speak before the evening campus explore event begins. I would like to remind that the main goal of the evening's events is to form an independent, brave, unyielding soul and not depend on others. It's not just a seniority show or a scare event."

"Hey, listen to that, Amelie," I nudged Amelie's arm. "Don't take it to serious."

"Yes, I hear you," replied Amelie, raising her lips.

"When exploring at night begin, it is not allowed to bring a flashlight or any lighting device. Each participant must dare to walk alone to complete the task given by the senior. Don't worry, as a hint, there are special lights already installed along the road around the night explore location."

"Oh My God Raveline! You heard that!"now fear, anxiety and worry are mixed on Amelie's beautiful face. Amelie looked clearly very frightened and unsettled.

"Hey, hey, Amelie. Relax girl, take it easy, this will definitely be exciting," Mia tried to calm down. Although it's seems impossible for Amelie to calm down.

Hearing the committee's speech Amelie even more nervous, Amelie even more fear listening to Mia's words. Meanwhile, the voice of the chairman of the committee was heard encouraging the new students who will participate in the night explore event.

"Whatever we do, stay focused on the goal, believe, intention in the heart, and don't forget safety first. After tonight's event is over, to melt the atmosphere, we will hold a bonfire celebration."

The sound of whistles and applause from all participants in the introduction of new students immediately filled the field, making the evening atmosphere warm. It's been a long time since I've felt so pounding, tense and impatiently looking forward to tonight's closing ceremony.

"I hope tonight's event can foster confidence and courage for all participants. Welcome to explore night, good luck!"The chairman of the committee ended his speech, and the sound of applause again resounded throughout the field.

"El, I might as well pass out now," Amelie's voice sounded low. She looks so desperate.

"Come on Amelie, don't be so pessimistic! Cheer up, there are a lot of new students on this campus, so the campus is not as quiet and spooky as you think."

"Don't you hear the senior talk before, we are not allowed to bring our own lighting devices, El. How about that? You think i can handle it!"

"Here, just wear this." I put smile in my face.

"What is this?"Amelie looked at the object I just put in her palm. The black object was smaller in size than the palm. She looks confused.

"This is the newest flashlight, Amelie," I whispered softly. "The new generation LED flashlight. You can use this in case of urgency. Guaranteed to be very bright! I've proven it myself. The day before this event started, while searching for a sleeping bag, I was offered this item by the camping equipment shopkeeper." I grinned.

Amelie nodded slowly, "then, how are you?"Amelie asked in a whisper.

"I deliberately bought a lot, in order to get a half price discount," I replied with a proud smile.

Amelie frowned, "half price? How much did you buy, Raveline?"asked Amelie curiously.

I then turned to Alexa and Mia, and the two of them simultaneously opened their hands. Amelie then looked back at me, "you bought four, Raveline?"

I shook my head with a big smile, "Nope, I bought half a dozen ... Just in case someone need this too."

Amelie patted her brow softly, "Oh my God, Raveline ... it's very typical of you!"The four of us laughed.

According to Mia, she had witnessed firsthand that the night explore committee had conducted a site survey before the event was held. I believe, it is done to predict the possibility of adverse events that may occur, so that they can make decisions and solutions to all events outside the plan that can occur during the implementation of the night explore.

Before the event began, we were all grouped one by one according to the team, to make sure that none of the participants were in an unhealthy state, had a history of heart disease, or a phobia of something, especially ghosts and the dark.

Amelie tries to take a chance by saying that she has a phobia of ghosts and the dark. Finally, the senior and several organizers gave Amelie the option not to participate in the night's explore, but tomorrow morning Amelie has to do substitute work, to clean the girls dormitory bathroom, or participate in the night's explore by walking in pairs.
