Ch. 25PLAYING VICTIM

With faces that looked unhappy, the five of us prepared to get out of the tent. One of the participants whispered quietly, "you sure that's your rope Linda?"

"Come on, Don't make a fuss. All this because of a woman who acts like she's the most beautiful, we all get into trouble."Linda seemed to be deliberately speaking a bit loudly so I could hear, Linda seemed to be deliberately provoking the others to blame me. "I think she just like problem, just like accusing people of taking ribbons. Don't think that just because you are beautiful, you can accuse others carelessly."

I took a deep breath. The girl named Linda constantly called me the most beautiful, although I did not show such an attitude among other freshmen at all. Really, I feel tempted to pull her lips!

Amelie could read my mind, she shook her head, "Don't respond, El... Let it go. Better now we listen to the instructions of the senior. Come on, we're heading for the field."Amelie hurriedly grabbed my hand, trying to keep me away from Linda who, although beautiful, turned out to be sharp-mouthed.

Two seniors asked the five of us to line up neatly in the middle of the field, while the other participants were carrying out the morning gathering.

"Why don't you guys get ready for the morning gathering? What keeps the five of you even busy arguing in the tent?"one of the seniors walked over while examining our faces one by one. I remember, he was the chairman of the committee who yesterday gave directions to all induction week participants.

"I lost my ribbon," Amelie immediately opened her voice, as if she was trying to take responsibility for herself and accept her punishment without involving us. Of course I don't. Moreover, Linda was seen grinning contentedly as Amelie spoke in a tone of surrender to the circumstances.

"The ribbon didn't missing, but someone took it," I hastened to add.

The senior's footsteps stopped. He then returned to where I was standing, looking at me carefully as if to confirm the attributes I was wearing. I held back a smile. Of course I didn't have to be afraid, because I wore all the required attributes completely.

"Hmm, you're international class. Your birth month is odd, isn't it?"He pointed to my blue ribbon. I nodded, "yes, that's right, iam."

"You got a red color, it means you were born in an even month."He then pointed to Amelie. "That's Right. I was born in an even month, April, " Amelie replied in detail. The senior then walked towards the other three participants who were in the same tent with us.

"You are also an even moon?" The senior then asked Linda, pointing to her ribbon. "Yes, iam. I was born on an even moon, as can be seen from this ribbon," Linda replied in a seemingly deliberate spoiled voice. I suddenly thought, Does my voice also sound disgusting like that when I am blessing guests in Wonderland?

The Senior then walked towards the other two participants who were in the same tent with us, checking their ribbons. The two remaining participants use blue colored ribbons.

"Hey, are you Raveline?"call the senior while looking at the description of my full name on the name tag hanging on my chest.

"Yes?"I turned to him while still standing in place.

"You said someone took Amelie's ribbon," the senior pointed to the ribbon in Linda's hair. "Is it possible that you think that she took it?" The senior asked the committee while pointing at Linda's ribbon.

"That's right! She kept accusing me of taking her friend's tape! She scolded me arbitrarily."Linda began to defend herself, as if becoming a victim of my accusations. You liar!

"I'm not angry, I'm just asking nicely."I reject Linda's statement. "I'm sure someone took Amelie's ribbon," I said firmly.

"Hmm, wait a minute. Why are you so sure someone took Amelie's ribbon?"The senior looked at me sharply, asking for an explanation.

"For fear of being confused, during the division of the ribbon, Amelie and I immediately put a mark on the ribbon that belonged to both of us."

That senior suddenly narrowed his eyes, "a sign?"

"Yes, that's right. We put a mark on the tape both of us."

That's when I saw Linda's face turn nervous. Take that! I held back my smile. Who told you to take someone else's?

"It can be explained, what kind of Mark do you put on your ribbon?"That senior noticed the blue ribbon I was wearing. With one hand, I removed the tape and handed it over. "Here, please look, the sign is like this."I showed you my blue ribbon with black on both ends of the ribbon.

I then remembered when the distribution of ribbons, the idea to give a sign appeared because we saw that the ribbons belonging to other participants had begun to be exchanged. Therefore, I propose to put a sign so that the ribbons of both of us are not confused. In fact, our ribbons were not exchanged, but instead taken.

"We deliberately put a black mark like this because a lot of ribbons belonging to other participants were swapped," Amelie added.

"Hmm, all right. Let's see if the ribbon Linda wears also has the markings you mentioned."That senior begin walked towards Linda. Amelie and I glanced at each other, convinced that the ribbon Linda was wearing belonged to Amelie. Although this morning in the tent the light was dim, I could see that the end of the ribbon on Vina's head had a black mark, just like the mark we made.

Linda looked anxious, she took off the ribbon and handed it to the senior hand who had reached out.

That senior, for a while observed the ribbons in his hand.

"Where's your ribbon going, Linda?"That senior is now looking at Linda, looking seriously waiting for an answer.

"That... That's mine, the ribbon it's mine ..."Linda still insists that the ribbon belongs to her.

"You sure? Do you also give black marks like they do?"That senior turned to me and Amelie.

Linda was silent, not answering.

"Take a look for yourself, on this ribbon that you claim to be yours there is a black mark. Can you explain?"That senior returned the tape to Linda.

"My tape is actually gone, I'm sorry ... Hu hu hu."Linda started sobbing. I held back my laughter. Really, she thinks her acting is that good? Even the two friends she had provoked were now looking at her with a cynical look.

"Oh my Gosh... You guys, it's just a ribbon thing like this, you've lied and taken someone else's. You know, the purpose of this activity is not just gathering without direction. We are here to learn to be more responsible."Fortunately that senior is smart, not fooled by Linda's bad acting.

Linda is still down. Her attempt to pretend cry turned out to be a complete failure. The ribbon issue ended with a punishmetont for Vina for cleaning a special class room in an international class building.
