"What are you talking about?" Indra stared in surprise at his wife, unable to understand what she was saying.
But with a smile on her face, she replied, "Didn't we agree to comply with all his requests? Whatever they are..."
The words sounded so calm and flowing, without any coercion. She had no intention of arguing with or defending him as her husband.
"That's right," said Sonia. "You must indeed comply with all of my requests without exception."
Sonia suddenly replied casually and even had a happy look on her face because she had won and defeated Indra's previous refusal.
But Indra certainly didn't accept, he glared and stared at Sonia before turning his face back to Dinda. He really didn't understand the thoughts of the two women near him.
The man quickly shook his head and said, "No, Dinda. Her request is too unreasonable. I can't comply," he said firmly.
For a moment, there was silence. Indra stared intently at Dinda. Hoping that she would quickly retract her words and hear something that would calm her down, like refusing Sonia's request. But the opposite happened, and Dinda only widened her smile as she shook her head.
"No, Indra. My mind is made up, meet her after this event is over, but before that." She said it coldly, then turned to look at Sonia.
Dinda's face turned sombre, as did her gaze, which turned wide. She showed her resentment towards Sonia, although she still tried to hide it because she respected Indra.
Sonia also snorted in annoyance, finding Dinda's attitude secretly expressing dislike for her existence.
Until, with a rough sigh, Sonia nodded, "Alright. I'll be going," she replied, looking away and then at Indra with a perfect grin.
"I'll wait for you, Indra," she said with a wink before walking away.
Indra remained silent, only his sharp gaze seemed to be strongly opposed to the situation.
Dinda then let out a long sigh, looking relieved at the situation she had managed to handle, even though her heart was still beating frantically as she held back the emotions that kept raging inside her.
After Sonia was out of sight, Indra looked at his wife in surprise and asked, "Why did you agree to it? I told you her request was too risky, she wanted to take advantage of the situation."
Dinda's steps to leave were halted when she heard that remark. She turned around and looked at Indra flatly.
"It's okay, everything will be fine." Her smile returned. "Let's get back to the party. I don't want Papa to get suspicious because we were gone too long."
Dinda quickly walked away, leaving Indra still standing where he was, his eyes fixed on his wife's back as she moved further away and disappeared behind the door.
"I really don't understand the thinking of women, why do they always complicate themselves?"
Indra was silent for a while as he leaned against the wall, enjoying the silence even though his mind was completely chaotic and noisy. She occasionally chuckled at the situation, which was so complicated for her.
"Tsk! I'm going to make a calculation with Sonia, even after our separation, she's still interfering with my life."
At the hall, things were back under control, even though Anggoro had increased the number of his guards to keep the party running properly.
The party was getting more and more crowded with the invited guests who didn't stop coming to congratulate the bride and groom.
Anggoro looked happy with his face beaming again, although previously his mood was slightly disturbed due to an unexpected incident regarding the commotion at the food stand.
Dinda, who saw her father's happiness, also looked happy, her smile spread perfectly when she saw her father, who was busy chatting with some of his business partners.
In contrast to the mood he felt, although the atmosphere around him was festive and filled with happiness, it did not match his heart, which felt raging because of Sonia's existence and her ridiculous desires that were beyond reason and even sounded crazy.
"Damn it! Why do I keep thinking about her!?" He cursed to himself, "I've tried not to think about her, but why are her words ringing in my ears?"
If only she hadn't followed her anxiety to find Indra's whereabouts and tempered her curiosity when she caught him with his ex-girlfriend, maybe she would have been safe and her heart would have been fine.
Because of that, Dinda now felt the cramps in her stomach again, but as much as possible, she held back and hid them from everyone, including Indra.
"Are you okay?"
"Ah!" Dinda blinked while glaring, surprised by Indra's description of her situation, "I'm fine."
"But your face is pale." Indra frowned, showing her concern. "Shall I take you to rest first? Let me stay here until the event is over."
Dinda then gasped, "I'm fine. The guests will feel strange, and they will think the wrong thing about me if I disappear before the event is over."
Indra snorted softly, surprised by Dinda, who was more concerned about what others said than her own situation. He also slightly glanced at Dinda's frowning face with an occasional rubbing of her stomach.
"You're pushing yourself too hard," she muttered to herself.
Dinda struggled to control herself, even though she knew that Indra had realized what was going on with her.
"I'm really fine, just focus on this event and meet her," she said as she lowered her voice, afraid that Anggoro or anyone else might overhear her.
The woman then adjusted her breathing as the discomfort in her stomach continued to torment her. She also tried to get rid of the annoyance towards Sonia as well as a little regret for her silly decision to allow Indra to meet his ex-girlfriend.
"Come on, Dinda! Don't be so bitter. They used to date anyway," she muttered to herself.
Indra, meanwhile, just stared at her in astonishment, unable to understand what she was thinking, until he finally chose to obey her, keeping quiet but alert in case something happened to his wife.
The party continued despite the awkwardness surrounding them until it was over and the guests began to leave the hall.
"Are you sure about this decision? We can still cancel it, I'll talk to and persuade Sonia," Indra offered before he prepared to leave.
But Dinda nodded confidently and said, "Don't worry, just go... Papa already said goodbye, so we don't have to make excuses," she explained.
Indra fell silent, the two of them were now near a car parked in a basement. The man seemed very reluctant to go see Sonia, especially seeing Dinda's condition, who was still looking pale even though the woman herself had tried hard to hide it.
"Go on. She's probably waiting," Dinda said, again weighing down Indra's steps.
