"Alright, I'll find you a place to stay."
Sonia gasped and her eyes rounded. "R-really? You want to-"
Dinda then nodded her head before letting Sonia finish her sentence, "Yes, I'll find you a place. But I can't hurry because I still have a lot of work to do."
"It's okay. I can understand." Sonia grinned, indicating that she was very satisfied with that.
"Okay... " Although still feeling hesitant, Dinda finally agreed to Sonia's request to find a place to stay.
"Thank you, Dinda. You're really nice! Indra seems lucky to have met you," said Sonia with a relieved expression.
Dinda just smiled but inwardly said, "Whatever, as long as you leave here quickly, I'm willing to spend a lot of money."
Yes! Whether it was a compliment or even just an insinuation, because at a time like this, it was only Sonia who felt benefited while Dinda did not, and it actually made Dinda feel objectified even though she herself had agreed to the deal with Sonia.
But behind her perfect smile, Sonia was thinking, "Wow!!! It worked! I thought there would be some more drama before she agreed to my request, but it turned out to be this easy."
Sonia was so happy about that, she even felt that her life in the capital would be easier after meeting Dinda and the deal.
As for Dinda? The woman continued to flash a warm smile as if she were fine, but underneath it, all her thoughts were frantic.
"Hmm... I guess I'll have to come up with a lot of money for some time to come," he muttered with a heavy sigh.
Yes! Dinda's decision to help Sonia find a place to live certainly opened a new chapter in their relationship. Although still shrouded in doubt, Dinda remained committed to fulfilling her promise in the agreement with Sonia. Even though it felt burdensome for her.
Sonia smiled with excitement. "Dinda, I'm really happy to be working with you."
However, without waiting for long, Sonia continued in a more personal tone, "Oh yes, Dinda, I would also like to wish you well in your marriage to Indra. May you be happy together."
Dinda greeted the prayer with a slight smile, but beneath the friendly façade, she realized that Sonia's attitude might not be entirely sincere. She felt that something was wrong, but she maintained her professional demeanor.
"Thank you for the prayers," Dinda said carefully, showing that she was staying within the boundaries of professional cooperation.
But in her heart, she whispered, "Well, I hope Sonia understands what I'm saying. I want my relationship with Indra to remain calm and harmonious. Without her interference. I also don't want my plans to get messed up because of her." Dinda pondered for a moment, hoping that her prayer for the peace of her personal relationship would be heard by Sonia.
"I hope that in the future, Sonia will only ask for things that are reasonable and not burdensome." Dinda's mind continued to drift, desiring understanding and balance in their dealings. Although Dinda tried to remain professional, underneath it all, her hope was that Sonia would respect her boundaries and not create unnecessary problems.
How could she not? All the problems that she was experiencing were certainly draining her energy and mind, plus Sonia's appearance along with the various ridiculous agreements that were created really made Dinda feel very tired. To the point that at some point she had to experience cramps in her abdomen.
"Ah! Well then, if you'll excuse me, you seem to be busy too." Sonia suddenly got up from her seat and extended her hand to say goodbye.
Dinda, of course, immediately welcomed the hand and said, "Alright, be careful on the road. Have a nice day."
Sonia smiled and walked away with a sense of pleasure and satisfaction, but she forgot that she had left a lot of unrest in Dinda's mind.
After Sonia left, Dinda plopped back down on the sofa. With a long sigh, the woman said, "Gosh... I didn't realize that she was so excited. Does Indra know that she came here?"
After that, Dinda immediately contacted some of her contacts in the housing and apartment industry. Her face looked puzzled, and her mind was filled with considerations on how she would handle Sonia's request. At the same time, she realized that this would mean spending a huge amount of money.
The phone echoed with Dinda's conversation, full of questions and concerns. "Are there any affordable options?" she asked one of her acquaintances. "This was not prepared in advance in our budget plan."
In confusion and stress, Dinda tried to find the wisest and most efficient solution to fulfill Sonia's request without sacrificing too much from the budget they had prepared.
In the midst of the confusion, suddenly...
Knock!
"Dind? It's Papa..."
Dinda, who looked surprised, replied, "Ah! Yes, just come in, Pa," said Dinda.
At this moment, the woman suddenly had her father enter her room. Without hesitation, Dinda immediately closed the laptop that she was using to search for some occupancy on it. Dinda then made small talk with her father, trying to act as usual and hiding her worry and confusion behind a smile.
"What's wrong, Pa? Is there a problem?" asked Dinda, trying to disguise her tension.
Anggoro replied with a smile, "I just wanted to say hello to Papa's daughter and Papa's future grandchild." He then sat down across from the occupant of the room and asked, "How are your and Indra's wedding preparations going? I'm sorry that Papa can't accompany you too much because lately Papa has to go to meetings with clients."
Dinda tried to maintain a sense of normalcy: "Papa doesn't need to worry because everything is fine, Pa. It's just a little work that needs to be done."
The two of them continued their small talk, but behind the smiles and lighthearted words, Dinda felt the burden in her heart growing heavier. She wished she could settle things with Sonia without having to bring this matter into her personal life.
"Well, that's good... You've been very diligent in preparing everything, Dinda. It looks like the preparations are going well," Anggoro said while squinting.
Dinda just nodded confidently.
But Anggoro quickly added, "But remember, Dinda, don't push yourself too hard. You've put in a lot of effort. Maybe it's time for you to take some time off and rest a bit before the wedding day."
Dinda frowned. "But, Pa, there's still a lot to prepare."
Anggoro laughed softly. "Everything is almost done. You also need to take care of your health. From now on, take some time off and enjoy this moment. Papa also doesn't want you to be too tired and end up with Papa's grandchildren paying for it."
Dinda thought for a moment, and it could not be denied that she was starting to feel tired of everything. Until that moment, something came to her mind.
"That's right. If I take my leave soon, Sonia won't be looking for me as much," she mused. "If she needs something, she can tell Indra without having to come to me, right?"
Yes! Now a grin spread across her sweet face.
