"It's not too weird, is it?"
Indra, who was reading a tabloid on the sofa, turned his head, but immediately his face froze with his gaze directed at the woman who had just come out of the dressing room.
His eyes didn't blink at all and were only fixed on the figure in front of him.
Beautiful...
Yes! Those were the words ringing in his mind. Indra certainly admired the woman's beauty as they went through the fittings for the second time. Indra did not cease to be amazed by Dinda's appearance as she tried on an ivory-white dress, accented with several pearls on the chest, as well as Swarovski embellishments that made the dress sparkle and luxurious.
Indra's gaze also made Dinda feel awkward and stiff. The man really didn't say anything and just stared at her.
"Do I look weird?" she wondered to herself.
"Ah! It doesn't seem like a good fit. Then I'll find another model," said Dinda as she was about to turn around. "Dinda, can-"
"Wait!" Indra's loud baritone voice succeeded in making Dinda and the boutique waiters surprised. "Ah! S-sorry. No need to change it, it's good enough."
Dinda turned her body around again and said, "Really? I thought I looked weird," she said.
"Not at all, you look beautiful in any outfit."
For an instant, Dinda felt shocked and tended to blush, to the point that her cheeks turned red like boiled crabs! Dinda quickly turned her body around in an attempt to hide her blush.
"Damn! I get compliments like this almost every day, but why does it feel different when Indra says it?" she muttered to herself.
The atmosphere inside the boutique turned awkward. But they were still busy choosing colors and designs for the reception, attending repeated fittings to make sure everything was perfect. Every moment was filled with laughter and fun, but Dinda still felt uncomfortable.
While trying some of the food for the reception, Dinda tried to focus on the flavor of the food, but the image of Sonia's presence was still ringing in her brain.
"This seems more delicious than the previous one, what do you think, Dinda?" asked Indra, trying to distract Dinda, who was starting to get distracted.
"Ah! Yes, I agree. Then let's just eat this."
Repeatedly, Dinda only responded casually and tended to be brief. Although Indra tried to calm Dinda down, the anxiety in her eyes was still evident.
This went on until they were busy choosing vendors, discussing decoration details, and organizing the preparation schedule. However, behind the excitement of the wedding preparations, Dinda felt that something was off. Every decision she made felt like a shadow of her meeting with Sonia.
In his heart, Indra murmured, noticing Dinda's strange behavior. "There's something bothering her mind. I need to focus more and keep her entertained."
Indra attentively tried to make Dinda laugh, giving praise for every decision she made and sharing her hopes for a bright future. Despite her inner worries, Indra tried to create a pleasant atmosphere for Dinda, hoping to ease the burden that seemed to be plaguing her mind.
Later that evening, Dinda and Indra stopped for dinner at a quiet Japanese restaurant. Despite the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant, Dinda still showed her moody expression. She fiddled with her food without fully eating it, her gaze seemingly drifting away.
Indra tried to make things better. "Dinda, what's going on? You've been uncharacteristic." His face was full of concern, reflecting genuine concern for Dinda's feelings.
Dinda tried to smile, but her expression was not entirely convincing. "I'm fine, Indra. Probably just tired," she said in a low voice. Despite trying to hide her feelings, Dinda felt heavy-hearted, and the meeting with Sonia was still an inevitable shadow.
Indra was silent for a moment, musing about what Dinda had in mind. He knew very well that Sonia's presence was a shadow that disturbed their happiness. The anxiety and discomfort that Dinda felt were also felt by her.
With a long sigh, Indra asked again, "Is this about... Sonia?"
Dinda instantly gasped, her eyes were now locked with Indra's.
But again and again... Dinda tried to hide her feelings and said, "No, Indra. I'm fine, maybe I'm just tired because we've been traveling all day."
Indra nodded, respecting Dinda's wishes. "Well, after this, I'll take you straight home. You need to rest."
The look of concern remained on Indra's face, and though he didn't ask more questions, he understood that Dinda might need time to reflect and work through her own feelings.
They continued their dinner in silence, and when they were done, Indra helped Dinda to stand up. They left the restaurant for the car, and the whole journey they were silent until they arrived at Anggoro's residence. Dinda only said a few sentences.
"You should be careful on the road, yes."
Indra nodded and replied, "Sure. You-" His words were cut off at that moment after seeing Dinda, who immediately walked away, leaving Indra still standing beside the taxi car they were traveling in.
Without thinking further, Indra decided to continue his journey, even though his mood still felt strange when he saw Inda's attitude.
As for Dinda, who had arrived at the room, she immediately laid down on her soft bed.
Sigh...
Dinda kept muttering to herself, feeling a strange feeling coming over her. Without realizing it, a wave of jealousy crept into her heart as Indra's former lover returned.
"Why do I feel like this?" muttered Dinda to herself. This unexpected feeling left her trapped in a battle between logic and emotion. Although she knew that Sonia was Indra's past, the jealousy continued to haunt her, forming chaos within her mind.
Dinda was immersed in her own inner war, not realizing that jealousy was creeping up on her. Their relationship is now being tested by this unexpected wave of emotions.
***
Indra had just arrived at his rented house, throwing himself on his bed. It had been a tiring day, with all the problems that had arisen and the addition of Sonia. His mind drifted between his trials today.
He stared at the ceiling, trying to absorb every moment. Her thoughts were muddled, trying to find a solution to the tension that had arisen in her relationship with Dinda. Indra felt the need for time to reflect and digest everything that had happened, hoping that tomorrow would bring clarity and calm again.
"I know he's worried about Sonia. But... I hope this won't last long. I'll also make sure that Sonia won't be around."
The following day, Dinda returned to the office with fluctuating spirits. Upon arriving at the office, she found herself contacted by her secretary over the phone, who informed her that there was a guest waiting for her in the lobby.
"Huh? Who? I don't think I have an appointment with anyone yet," he muttered to himself.
Despite not having an appointment with anyone, Dinda felt her curiosity guide her steps out of her room to meet her mystery guest. Her mind was filled with questions, and she wanted to find out Sonia's intentions immediately.
Her steps were steady as she strode towards the lobby. Upon arrival, her eyes again met Sonia, who was sitting on one of the sofas. Dinda's face reflected a mixture of curiosity and tension, but she still tried to smile politely as she approached Sonia. "Hello, what brings you here?" she asked with unconcealed curiosity.
