That afternoon, Indra seemed surprised and shocked by the statement he had just heard from the woman, who had always claimed that the two of them would have a wedding in the village. Although Indra only thought of her as his ex-girlfriend, Sonia was not like that. She was always adamant about her stance, which made Indra disgusted and reluctant to return to the village.
"So what? You're still being cold to me for helping your family?" Sonia insisted, acting arrogant.
Indra snorted in annoyance. "Just explain what you want and what you've done to my family."
"Ha, ha, ha..." Sonia then laughed as if Indra's words were so adorable to her. "I've always wondered at myself for not being able to let go of such a disrespectful you."
Indra fell silent, showing his flat face as if he felt a great deal of discomfort at the conversation. Even if he could, he would have liked to leave Sonia in that place, but Indra certainly still had a conscience and restrained himself.
Sonia then looked at her sharply until she finally said, "You don't have to worry about your mother's condition because I've taken care of everything."
Yes! That statement managed to make Indra gasp again. "What the-"
"Well, as you may have guessed, your mother has been treated and will soon undergo surgery at the hospital. And-"
"Again?" Indra suddenly interrupted and brought Sonia's words to a halt. "You're bribing my family again? To make me feel bad."
Sonia then gasped, feeling provoked by Indra's words that sounded offensive to her. But before she could respond, Indra, who was now overcome with anger, chuckled again.
"Never mind, forget it. You better find another man and let me live in peace," Indra concluded, getting up from his seat. "As for your money, I'll pay for everything next week."
After expressing his frustration, Indra got up and left the place without tasting the food he had ordered. The man was furious that Sonia's behavior was always out of line.
Meanwhile, with Sonia? The woman was so surprised by Indra's reaction to her rejection that Sonia got up from her chair and shouted at Indra.
"Wait, Indra! We're not done yet." Her words were cut short by the sight of Indra, who waved his hand behind him and continued on his way.
That certainly made Sonia feel annoyed and want to tear the whole café apart. Her heart was now beating faster than ever, and her breathing was ragged, revealing just how angry she was.
Sonia snorted in annoyance and grumbled, "Damn! I thought this was an effective way to get you back, Indra. Turns out..."
Her blind rage seemed unbearable. But the crowded place was not a good place for her to vent her frustration, so Sonia finally sat back down, trying to control herself. But in the midst of it all, she felt something odd about the situation.
"Wait!" Her eyes began to narrow and she thought, "Is what he said true? Where did he get that much money?"
At once, her evil brain began to think of several possibilities for Indra. She was apparently beginning to wonder what her former lover was doing. Sonia had a cynical look on her face and a devilish grin.
"I think there's something I didn't know all along."
The next minute, the woman blinked, and without much thought, she immediately left the place to do something with her wits. But unfortunately, suddenly...
"E-eh! Sorry, Lady! Pay first!" shouted one of the cashiers who happened to see her customer about to leave.
She was so excited that she forgot that the food they had ordered had not been paid for yet, which made Sonia stop her steps and grunt in annoyance.
"Gosh! Indra is so irresponsible! I'm paying for him," she grumbled, quickly pulling out some money to pay.
A public bus had just arrived and stopped right in front of the boutique Indra and Dinda had visited earlier. Indra hurriedly got off and paid the fare. He then circulated his gaze around the area of the boutique, but strangely...
"Isn't the car there?" he wondered. "Has Dinda gone home?"
Not wanting to just guess without proof, Indra hurriedly entered the boutique, even though the sun had already begun to fall in favor of the moon.
With hurried steps, the man entered the deserted boutique. There were only a few employees who were busy tidying up the goods, a sign that it would soon be closed.
Indra, who was increasingly upset and could not find Dinda, approached one of the employees who had helped them this afternoon.
"Excuse me, is the woman who was with me earlier still here?" he asked, continuing to wander around trying to find the woman he was referring to.
"Ah! Dinda?" The employee raised his eyebrows as if he were familiar with the woman Indra was referring to.
Indra nodded quickly to confirm the employee's guess.
"She happened to have gone home a few minutes ago, she told me that if her husband-to-be comes back, just go home."
"Then what about our plan?" Indra looked confused.
"Oh, that's already been decided, Dinda. Everything has been finalized, and we just have to wait for the results," the employee explained in a friendly manner.
For a moment, Indra was silent as he exhaled a long breath, a sense of guilt overwhelming his at the moment. How could he not? Indra's focus was initially broken by Sonia's sudden arrival, so he unconsciously left Dinda to let his choose the outfit they would wear on their wedding day.
Indra finally said goodbye to the boutique guard and left empty-handed, with a sense of regret that continued to haunt him.
Huft...
That sigh really implied a guilt that never subsided.
"She must be upset that I left suddenly like that," he muttered regretfully. "Why else would I be surprised that Sonia came out of the blue?"
Yes! Indra really didn't know what he was feeling at the moment, he hadn't meant to make Dinda disappointed because of himself. Indra couldn't even imagine how Dinda felt at that time, especially having to fit a wedge alone.
Indra then cursed himself, blaming all of today's events and continuing to beat his face.
"You're crazy, Indra! What if Sir Anggoro finds out about this? You could have been killed... "
Indra was confused. How should he deal with Dinda later? Especially if Anggoro finds out about today's incident. The middle-aged man would certainly not remain silent.
