Ch. 3Chapter 3

While Rara remained silent, she gazed at herself in the mirror reflection with a blank expression. Tears welled up again as she realized she would be marrying a man as dubious as Rafael. If only she hadn't stepped out of the car that night and tried to help Rafael's prospective wife, she might not be in this position now. Everything had already happened, and there was no point in Rara regretting it.

"Wow, Rara, you look stunning," Yuni praised while holding Rara's shoulders. She pretended to show her kind face because of the makeup artist present, but her hands subtly squeezed Rara's shoulders firmly.

The middle-aged woman leaned close to Rara's ear. "Stop crying. If you come out crying later, everyone will be suspicious, and Rafael will be angry with you," Yuni whispered threateningly.

Rara immediately wiped her tears. She didn't want to argue with Yuni anymore. Besides, at the moment, she couldn't escape from there. Perhaps after marrying Rafael, she could find a way to break free from their grip.

Yuni brought Rara out as the wedding ceremony was about to begin. Rara was slightly surprised to see many guests in attendance. At that moment, she wanted to scream loudly, to reveal that she was a victim of this forced marriage. But Rafael's gaze was intimidating, making Rara feel scared.

After the wedding reception ended, some guests began to leave the venue. Rafael continued to smile happily as he greeted the guests offering their congratulations, while Rara maintained a neutral expression. Occasionally, she smiled when Rafael pinched her back.

Rara wanted everything to end quickly. She wanted to lock herself in her room and never come out again. Seeing the guiltless faces of Rafael and Yuni made her angry. Rara desperately wanted to disappear from that place now.

After some time, all the guests had left. Only Yuni and Rafael remained. At this moment, Rara felt a bit scared as she was convinced that there were other evil plans in store by the two.

Rafael and Yuni approached the still statuesque Rara. The girl stared sharply at the mother and son.

"Are you satisfied now? If so, release me immediately!" Rara shouted loudly.

Rafael just smirked and folded his arms across his chest. "Hey, why are you so angry like this? You shouldn't have done that. Now I'm your husband; it's not right to shout like that," Rafael said, with a feigned tone.

Enraged, Rara knocked over a flower vase on the nearby table. "I just want to get out of here right now! I'm not guilty at all, so why are you doing this to me!" Rara yelled. She messed up all her makeup and threw anything she could reach at Rafael.

This action infuriated Rafael and Yuni. They did not like seeing Rara rebel like this.

"Murderous girl! Control yourself, if you continue like this, we won't hesitate to harm you!" Yuni scolded. The middle-aged woman approached Rara, then pulled Rara's hair until it lost shape. "You dare to do all this, huh?" Yuni continued.

"Do you dare to defy us? You haven't seen what I can do," Rafael snarled. He picked up a piece of the vase in front of him and approached Rara. "Let her go, Ma. Let me handle her; you rest now," Rafael said.

Yuni released her grip on Rara's hair, then gave Rara a slight push before leaving. She was confident that her son could deal with Rara.

"So now you dare to rebel?" Rafael asked, staring sharply at Rara.

Rara remained silent, responding with a gaze full of anger towards Rafael. Her breath rose and fell, containing the turmoil of emotions raging within her chest.

"Alright. I'll show you how I operate," Rafael immediately dragged Rara's body.

"What do you want! Let me go," protested Rara. She kept screaming for help, but there was no response.

Rafael's anger peaked, continuing to drag Rara to the upstairs room. Upon reaching the room, Rafael threw Rara's body onto the bed.

"You surely know that we are legally married, which means I can do whatever I want to you," Rafael stated, flashing his smile.

"Don't you dare try that. Or I will..."

"Or what? There's nothing you can do." Rafael seemed triumphant, ready to remove the suit he was wearing.

Rara felt extremely scared at that moment. She didn't want to surrender herself to someone she didn't love at all. She tried her best to throw away anything her hands could touch. "Stay away from me right now! I don't want to see your face again. You despicable man!" Rara yelled.

Rafael completely ignored Rara's words. Instead, he moved closer to Rara. "I told you not to dare to defy me if you don't want it to end like this," Rafael growled.

"Are you insane? How could you do this to me? If my fiancée hadn't passed away, maybe her fate would have been the same as mine right now. She was wrong to choose you as her future husband. You're more deserving of being called a monster!" Rara shouted.

At that moment, Rafael fell silent. Suddenly, Nara's image appeared in his mind, feeling something strange. It was as if Rara in front of him was Nara. Rafael took two steps back from Rara, shaking his head twice.

"This can't be possible," Rafael muttered.

Rara's words struck Rafael like a physical blow. He saw Nara's face, her gentle smile, her trusting eyes, and it was as if Rara had become her, a mirror reflecting Nara's pain and anger. The image of Nara's lifeless form in the coffin flashed before his eyes, and he felt a wave of nausea.

"Nara?" he whispered, his voice hoarse. "Is that you?"

Rara stared at him, her eyes filled with a mixture of fear and confusion. "What are you talking about?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Rafael's mind was racing. Could it be that Nara's spirit had somehow possessed Rara? The thought was terrifying, yet it felt strangely plausible. He had always felt a connection to Nara, even after her death, and now, it seemed, that connection was manifesting in the most unexpected way.

"I... I don't understand," he stammered, his hand reaching out towards Rara, then drawing back as if burned. "But you... you remind me so much of her."
