Ch. 8Unpleasant Surprise

Inge quickly changed her expression from sour to concerned. "Really, Ma'am?" she asked, making sure to step inside the fence, so that Sarah had to walk backwards so that the stocky woman could get inside.

"It's true, ma'am! I swear to God!" Sarah raised her right hand up with her palm wide open as she faced Inge.

"Yes, I believe it," Inge replied curtly. "Look, Ma'am, your son Satria is sick," she explained.

Sarah, who heard this, opened her eyes in shock. Her face began to pucker, afraid that something bad might happen to her son.

"So Mrs. Marni took the initiative to take Satria to the puskesmas next to the village office. Just now she asked my husband to take a motorcycle taxi because if she waited for him, she was afraid that something would happen to Satria. He had a seizure earlier," she explained again without paying attention to Sarah's cotton-white face and racing heart.

Sarah collapsed to the ground, not caring that her leggings were now soiled by the still wet soil from last night's dry season rain.

"Eh, Sister Sarah!" screeched Inge strongly when she finally saw Sarah's pale face as well, shocked to see the young woman fall to the ground. She hurriedly grabbed Sarah's right hand to get her back on her feet, as the woman's body was about to slump to the ground again due to not being able to bear all the trials that had befallen her in one day. "Sister! Oh my God!" she squealed again as Sarah collapsed in her arms. "Help! Help! Help, man!" he shouted as he glanced around, then shouted even louder when he saw a male peddler passing by. She even waved her left hand, asking him to stop by.

"What's wrong, ma'am?" the peddler asked in his broken accent as he walked up to them. He stood in front of the fence.

"Sir, please help my sister! Help me bring her to my house!" Inge said quickly.

"What's wrong with your sister?" the merchant asked innocently.

"Don't ask too many questions!" snapped Inge angrily.

"How come you're angry with me?" asked the merchant again without guilt.

"Who told you to ask so many questions! All I asked was for you to help me bring my unconscious sister into the house. That's it!" scolded Inge.

"Well, ma'am ... try asking nicely, I'll be willing to help!" the merchant grumbled back.

"I already asked you nicely! You're the one who's been asking a lot of questions! If you don't want to help, just go away! Don't come back here again! If you have to, throw yourself into the gutter! Go!" Inge shouted so strongly that she coughed.

"Yes ... yes, what a fierce mother! My Herman!" the merchant grumbled back. He continued to grumble all the way until he wasn't paying attention to the road properly. Right at the end of the bend in the road, he accidentally collided with a small child who was holding a clear plastic containing oil until he fell, then the oil broke when it collided with the ground. "Eh, Cil! Don't just hit the road!" he scolded while glaring at the boy.

The boy who had been stared at like that became teary-eyed and soon burst into tears. "Mama...!" he screeched as he dashed westward.

"What a kid!" grumbled the merchant again, about to continue his walk. But his foot accidentally stepped on a puddle of oil, and he slipped. He fell on his stomach at the bottom of the ditch, which had dried up from the summer heat. "Oh my God, how sad my life is!" he complained as he struggled to get up.

Meanwhile, Inge, who was still coughing, tried her best to help Sarah walk by placing her right hand on her shoulder. Then slowly led the woman to a chair in front of Marni's house.

Sarah, who had originally fainted, finally began to open her eyes when she smelled an unpleasant odor coming from Inge's armpit. Her eyes blinked slowly then opened, although they still felt a little blurry. But thanks to the scent, it succeeded in making her wake up.

"Enghh... Mrs. Inge,"

Inge, who was still trying to carry Sarah, then stopped her steps. Then turned to the woman happily. "You're awake," she murmured happily.

Sarah only nodded briefly in response as her head was still throbbing, but now it was compounded by her stomach starting to feel nauseous. Her pale face broke out in a cold sweat, ready to vomit.

Sarah finally did throw up beside Marni's yard with Inge massaging her back to make her feel better.

"Are you pregnant?" asked Inge.

"I'm not!" replied Sarah curtly, not accepting being accused in such a way. Her eyes even glared as she stood up straight and wiped her mouth, which she had just washed with water from a tap near the wall.

"I can't be pregnant, ma'am! Before the divorce, I had my period... really," she said with a slowed down tone at the end of her sentence as she remembered that her last period was three weeks ago, and now was her fertile period.

"Is it possible that I'm really going to carry Aditya's child again? If so, what about my son Satria? Then what about our divorce case? There is no way I'm willing to get back together with a man as vile as Aditya Maulana because he is nothing more than a bastard man who deserves to be burned off the face of the earth!" Sarah's mind was furious when she had to recall the events of last night until morning, especially since her whole body still felt devastated by the man's actions.

Meanwhile, Aditya repeatedly spilled his seed inside her last night until morning. Her face immediately paled, because since the separation of the bed three months ago, right when the divorce was imposed, she had not taken or used contraceptives anymore. Then without saying a word, the woman sprinted to the gate, leaving Inge wide-eyed.

"Where are you going?" Inge shouted as Sarah reached the gate.
