Ch. 11Chapter 11

Ever since Nicholas had asked for a divorce, Sofia had disappeared from Nicholas' life. She returned the cell phone and took none of the things Nicholas had given her except her suitcase. She decides to find out something that will prove her innocence. Sofia also chooses not to watch the television that shows the news of Nicholas and Amanda's engagement to avoid her heartache.

Today, Sofia was sitting in a restaurant with Sam, waiting for a man named Aron to arrive.

Sofia asked worriedly, "Sam, are you sure he's coming?" She wasn't sure if the man in the photo wanted to meet her.

"Yes, I'm sure he will. I didn't say I wanted to discuss the photo, I invited him to meet me and pretended I wanted to use his services. He's a model, you know?"

"Oh, I see. I'll ask him later to find out the truth about this photo."

Not long afterward, a well-dressed man entered the room. Sofia saw that the man was wearing a white T-shirt and a blue jacket on the outside. He also wore glasses to hide his blue eyes, which made many women fall in love.

"Hi, are you Sam?" asked Aron, coming to the chair where Sam and Sofia were sitting.

"Yes, I'm Sam. And to introduce you, this is Stephanie, my sister who will also be participating in this project."

Sofia was a bit surprised, she had no idea that Sam would be changing his name.

"Hi, Steph. I'm Aron, nice to meet you." Aron held out his right hand, inviting Sofia to shake it.

"Nice to meet you too, Aron." Sofia shook Aron's hand.

"Okay, you already know each other, then let's discuss our work."

Sofia was mostly silent while Sam asked Aron a few questions. She offered Aron to become a model to promote a hotel in the city center. Sofia knew the hotel because her father had worked there as a cleaner. But she had no idea that Sam also worked there.

It had been a few years since Sofia and Sam had met, so she didn't know much about Sam now. All she knows is that Sam has always been an expert in computers. Sofia is worried because Sam is offering him an impossible job. They are just pretending, right?

"How about it, Steph? Is there something you want to ask Aron?" Sam asked suddenly.

"Yes." Sofia felt that this was the right time for her to ask about the photo of them in the hotel room that had led to Nicholas' unilateral divorce.

"I see you in this picture, can you tell me about the recording?"
Sofia handed Sam the printed photo of them.

"Sure. But wait! Your face looks like the girl with the makeup. But I'm sure she's not you because I saw a birthmark on her chest covered with makeup."

"Do you know the girl? And how was this photo taken?" Sofia asked again. She didn't want to answer Aaron's words.

"I'm not sure, but her name is Meg. She's a model and that's all I know about her."

"Do you know who hired her?"

Aaron shook his head. "I'm a model, and I just do my job; everything is arranged by my manager, and I guess she did too."

"Can I get your manager's number then?" Sofia asked after nodding in understanding. It seemed that the person they needed to meet was not Aaron, but the manager who had to be in direct contact with Amanda. When their conversation was over, Aaron left.

"Do you think it's strange? If all the work comes from his manager, why does he want to meet you directly, Sam? Shouldn't you be contacting his manager first?"

"It should. But I could only find Aaron, not his manager. And I found nothing about that chick."

"It looks like it won't be easy to find evidence of her crimes. I'm sure Amanda's motive is Nicholas, but do you think this kind of thing can be filed with the police?"

Sofia was angry because Amanda had done everything she could to break her and Nicholas apart, and she had succeeded. Nicholas believed the photo and they ended up divorced.

"Yes, but we need hard proof. Don't worry, the important thing is that I already know where the hotel is. We can go there and find out from the hotel," Sam said again.

"That's impossible, Sam. The hotel won't tell us anything."

"We'll see," Sam said with a smile.

Sofia didn't ask any more questions, she decided to stay quiet and follow where Sam was going. She was shocked to see that Sam had entered the most expensive five-star hotel in town.

"Sam, didn't you go to the wrong place? Our clothes are like this? Before we even enter the hotel, we could get kicked out." Sofia pulled Sam's hand, feeling embarrassed because both of their clothes were very ordinary.

"Calm down, Sofia. They won't kick us out."

"No, Sam!" Sofia tried to stop Sam from entering, but Sam still wanted to go in and asked the receptionist directly.

"Good afternoon, may I see the manager now?"

Sofia gaped, wondering why Sam was so confident? How could the hotel allow this?

"Nope. He's busy right now. Oh my God. You? Yes, sir. Right away."

The receptionist's words shocked Sofia. How could she refuse and suddenly let him meet the manager?

"Sam? Who the hell are you? Why can he grant your wish just like that?"

Sam did not answer immediately; he just smiled at Sofia, who was still astonished.

Meanwhile, Amanda places a glass of wine on the table with a smile on her face as her plans go smoothly. She's in Nicholas' apartment now. She moved here when they announced their engagement and that's what makes her happy.

"I'm happy too. Finally, you'll marry someone you're into!" A deep voice startled Amanda.

"You? How did you get into my apartment?" Amanda asked in surprise.

"Your apartment? hahaha ...." He laughed.

The man who had just entered was Brian, the man who had been her manager and her partner in making love. Amanda didn't love him, he wasn't as rich as Nicholas, but she needed him because his connections were so big that he could get many jobs in international fashion shows. That's why she agreed to have a relationship with Brian. Amanda doesn't know that he's interested in her, so he tries to derail her wedding plans. He didn't want to see Amanda happy with anyone but him.

"Of course, I used the key the building manager gave me. Everyone also knows that I'm your manager, so it's easy to get into this place."

"No! Get out now!" shouted Amanda.

"Come on, Amanda. We've always had fun, married or not, and our relationship will never change! Don't you miss my hugs, babe?" Brian came closer and tried to kiss her, but Amanda avoided it.

"Stop it, Brian! That's enough. Let's talk outside!"

Amanda didn't want her plans to fall apart if Nicholas found out that a man had broken into her apartment.

"Why are you so scared? Didn't we used to live together? Even if you're with Nicholas, it won't change our relationship."

"When I marry Nicholas, I won't need you anymore, Brian."

"That's not going to happen, Amanda. I won't let it. You're mine."
