The first day of school after a two-month holiday makes the streets in Yogyakarta congested. The streets that just yesterday felt a little empty because they were only used by workers are now crowded again. The horn sounded repeatedly without patience when the traffic light turned green. The impatience of road users created new problems for the police who were on duty that morning. They must be extra patient when dealing with road users who use asphalt roads arbitrarily. Chasing the iron horse without being polite and honking incessantly. It's enough to give you a headache.
Among the crowded vehicles on the street, a well-built middle school student wearing a middle school uniform with long hair was seen riding his metic motorbike. He overtook right and left nimbly, trying to find a gap to avoid traffic jams. Behind him another student sat piggybacking with a tense face. He was his neighbor who would become his classmate and even the same school as him.
"Just relax, Yo! Instead of getting hit by the police!"
Rio ignored the passenger's warning. The student named Rio seemed to keep gaspol overtaking other vehicles. The thick eyebrows that shaded his sharp eyes seemed to be burning with desire to end his morning journey. This was enough to make the passenger - Arghi - only shake his head and hold on tightly to Rio's backpack. He's just afraid of dying, that's all.
It wouldn't be funny if his first day at high school would be a disaster for him. Rio could have made it into the news on television or in the newspapers. With the tagline "a new student does not go to school and chooses to go to the afterlife". Very unfunny.
But what else can you do? He carelessly surrendered his life to his neighbors. Neighbors he only met yesterday even though they have lived side by side for a long time. The reason is simple, he doesn't want to ride his own motorbike. It's not because he's afraid of busy streets, it's just that if something is practical, why bother.
After a long journey, they finally arrived at school safely. Arghi stroked his chest to express his gratitude because God gave him the opportunity to live. Meanwhile, Rio frowned in surprise when he saw his neighbor stroking his chest with his eyes closed. Strange.
"Thanks, Bro! I'll ride home later!" Arghi exclaimed shamelessly and left Rio in the parking lot. Rio, who was annoyed with Arghi's behavior, remained silent, reluctant to respond to Arghi's call. You'll see, he will regret it because he dared to look away and act carelessly towards him.
Rio chuckled walking behind Arghi. Meanwhile, Arghi walked nervously, feeling like he was being watched by people around him since he left the parking lot. It felt really nervous but he tried to be confident. His head lifted and he put both hands in his trouser pockets. It was similar to a scene in a teenage drama series that he watched. Hehehe....They must be amazed to see him attending the same school as them. A music maestro goes to a private school that is emt.... not quite famous(?) Isn't this a miracle. But, he is not an arrogant person. So, he took the time to smile friendly, greeting anyone who looked at him.
Strangely, the people around him looked even worse at him. Plus the spices whispered after he greeted him. Is he that handsome? Or was he this popular that they got to know him quickly? Ah... it must be because the competition is overseas which is broadcast live on local television, which makes it this popular.
Meanwhile, behind him, Rio was following Arghi. Mischievously, he crossed his arms and pointed at Arghi in front of him. Hinting "he's crazy" and making some students giggle and whisper even louder about Arghi. Those who are being talked about just keep walking with their heads held high. He doesn't seem bothered and looks more like he doesn't know himself.
Because it was the first day of school, the corridors were crowded with new students and many people looked at Arghi for looking too eccentric. Rio had no intention of telling Arghi what people thought. Just leave it until the master comes to his senses.
"Rio!" called someone among the crowd of new students, because this was in the corridor of class 10. Rio looked around looking for the person who had just called him and found a hand waving excitedly. Rio's eyebrows furrowed trying to remember. But, as far as he remembered, he didn't know the person.
Until Rio finally stopped near the student with a big smile, he still had no idea who the person was. His shoulder was now tapped. He turned to find Arghilah the perpetrator tapping his shoulder.
"Who?" he asked shamelessly. Rio held back his laughter seeing Arghi's innocent face plus a pretentious handsome expression which could more accurately be called a coquettish expression. Shameless shameless man.
"This is Rio, right?" the student asked to confirm, looking unsure because of Rio's response. Rio nodded in confirmation and returned to observing the face. Then the student lowered the strap of his backpack a little, revealing the name tag on his uniform. Rio read it and widened his eyes.
"Oh, Alvin!" Rio shouted excitedly because he could meet his childhood friend. It was a miracle to meet him again. After approximately nine years of not seeing each other and without any news, now we can finally meet again. Rio and Alvin hugged each other like two brothers who hadn't seen each other for a long time. Arghi looked at the two of them with a jealous look. He also wants to be intimate with someone on the first day of school. Even though he was the star that everyone was staring at, why was Rio the one who made a new friend?
"Hey Alvin, let me know Arghi. His full name is Arghian, yes, that's all," said Arghi with a face full of confidence. He shook Alvin's hand happily. However, Alvin just looked at him strangely and turned to look at his little friend. Rio, who was stared at, immediately shrugged his shoulders while holding back his laughter.
"Uh yes, nice to meet you. Em... You can take that off first!" Alvin said uncomfortably, reminding him of a creature named Arghi. Arghi, who was about to hug Alvin pretending to be intimate, immediately showed an astonished expression. What does he have to let go of? Alvin grinned and felt that Arghi wasn't aware yet, then shyly pointed at Arghi's head.
"Oh my God! Rio!" Arghi screamed in shock when his hand touched his head, which apparently still had a helmet on, even with the visor still covering his face. Rio, who had been holding back his laughter from the start, immediately vomited out everything that was stuck in the corner of his throat. Alvin was in an uncomfortable situation laughing out loud because he was a new acquaintance and only responded with a pepsodent smile. Several students laughed watching Arghi's comedy show in the morning. At least because of Arghi, they are less awkward and get along easily. Of course because they found a hot gossip topic.
