Ch. 9A Dog Names Rocco

Briana misses her family. Dad, Mom, and her two cute little sisters, Sophie and Lisa. I don't know what they look like now, but what remains in Briana's memory now is that she had a handsome dad and a beautiful mom; they were great parents who imposed a lot of rules on their three girls.
While her two twin sisters were rather naughty little girls, on Briana's seventeenth birthday they decorated her bed sheets with crayons.
How are they doing now?
Did my parents already have a lot of gray hair and wrinkles on their faces?
Have my younger siblings started to enter the teenage phase? I don't remember anything, she whispered. Briana sighed heavily. She pressed her left chest hard.
"Good morning." Sean's voice distracted Briana. He stood in the doorway with a small bowl in his hand and said, "It's time to put some ointment on your elbow."
Briana nodded. "Okay."
Sean walked in and with the manly stride of a mountain lion. He walked over to Briana, who was staring unblinkingly. By now his slightly long black hair was loose and wet. Briana could also smell his aftershave; yes, Mr. Tarzan had just finished showering.
Anna told me that you can take off your crutches today. And I'll also help you apply the cream one last time," Sean said.
This was the first time Briana heard Sean speak more than one sentence. Yeah, it was a bit strange to hear. Briana nodded and let Sean sit on the edge of the bed. He carefully removed the crutches from Briana's hand.
Briana's hand had healed but it still felt stiff. Sean began to spread the green cream on the surface of Briana's elbow. For some reason, Briana's body stiffened at the strange vibrations that occurred when Sean touched her. Touching her elbow.
"Does it hurt?" asked Sean, suddenly stopping.
Briana shook her head while biting her lower lip nervously. "Ah, no, i-it... um, it doesn't hurt."
Sean resumed his work. Once the cream was fully applied, Sean took two leaves and coated them with oil. Briana didn't know what kind of oil it was, but it smelled really bad. Sean used the leaves and oil to cover the ointment on Briana's elbow and then tied it with gauze that he cut out thinly.
"Done," he said.
Briana nodded slowly. "Thank you, Mr. Brosnan," she replied.
Sean got up and picked up his bowl. "I'm going back to the workshop," he said.
Sean walked to the exit while Briana was still tongue-tied and unable to say anything. She really wanted to ask Sean to stop. Briana wanted to say something about the family she was looking for. However, for some reason it was difficult for Briana to ask Sean to stay here for a while.
Suddenly Sean's steps stopped. The man turned and looked straight at Briana as he said, "I'm going into town tonight. You might need something."
Into town? Of course, because Sean was only here on weekends. Somehow, Briana was disappointed.
Suddenly, Briana's eyebrows shot up to cover her surprise. Briana then shook her head. Sean nodded and was about to continue his steps, but immediately Briana called out to him, "Mr. Brosnan!"
Sean turned his head.
"Can I have a moment of your time? I have something to say."
Sean stayed where he was for a moment then returned to the edge of the bed and sat himself down. "What is it?"
"I think I'm ready to help you find my family."
Despite his calm expression, Briana could sense Sean's surprise. "That's good," he said.
Briana licked her suddenly dry bottom lip then began to explain, "I'm the son of Robert Tanner Clooney; as far as I can remember, we live in New York. I can come with you to find them," she said.
Sean looked deep into Briana's eyes; maybe he could see the sadness in there that she was trying to hide. "You can come if you want," Sean said.
Briana nodded slowly, "I do want to. I want to see my family soon," she said with a sad face.
Sean unexpectedly reached out his hand to grasp Briana's hand. There was a strange sting that went through Briana as she felt that touch. A sting that spurred her heart to beat faster.
"We'll definitely find them," Sean said. His words sounded very sincere.
"Thank you." The two looked at each other, diving into each other's eyes. Sean Brosnan had sharp, cold eyes. Before, Briana had seen nothing behind those black eyes but darkness, but somehow now she could see such great protection for her there.
Ah, maybe I'm just dreaming, Briana thought too, hopefully.
The sound of a knock on the door made us both flinch. Briana was the first to break eye contact. Meanwhile, Sean immediately released Briana's hand from his grasp. He got up from the bed and left the room without saying a word.
After Sean left, Briana breathed a sigh of relief. She had been staring at Sean Brosnan for so long that her whole body suddenly became hot and cold. Briana swept her palm across the sweat that was soaking her forehead.
Gosh, that guy is giving me strange vibes, Briana said. Of course, only silently.
Briana could faintly hear the sound of Sean's conversation with a man from inside his room. Occasionally the sound of a dog barking could be heard. Feeling curious, Briana came out of the room to see who was coming. Their conversation stopped when a man who was talking to Sean caught Briana's presence.
The man flashed a faint smile in greeting, so Sean turned around.
"You're ...." Briana cursed herself for not being able to stay in the room.
Sean must have been annoyed that she had appeared in front of his guests.
"Sorry," Briana said awkwardly.
Sean's forehead furrowed deeply, but then he said, "Come here."
Briana hesitantly approached them; when she got closer, she saw a snow wolf that was busy circling around Sean's feet. Briana grimaced in horror. "Don't be afraid, he's a tame dog," Sean said.
Uh, dog?
Briana was standing right beside Sean, and the dog was completely ignoring her.
"This is Mark, my brother."
Briana looked at Mark, who was still smiling at me. "Hi, Briana," he greeted.
Oh, she knows my name already? "Hi, Mark," Briana replied.
"Sean told me a lot about you. I'm sorry about your accident," he said. "Yeah, not your fault," Mark replied.
"Well ...." Mark looked at his brother, "I have to go now." Sean nodded slowly, then Mark said goodbye to Briana. "Bye, Briana, I hope you're comfortable living with this iceman," Mark said with an amused laugh.
Briana smiled with flushed cheeks. Sean was only at the log house on weekends. Why did Mark say that Sean would be at the log house for a long time?
Meanwhile, Sean gave Mark a sharp look, through which he threatened his brother to leave immediately.
After Mark left, Briana glanced at a wolf-like dog that was still rubbing its fine fur on Sean's leg. The dog had a large body, sharp teeth, and terrible eyes. Briana doubted it was a tame animal.
"His name is Rocco; he's a husky I've been taking care of since he was a puppy," Sean said suddenly.
Briana glanced at the man for a moment, then back at her dog. "He's tame?" she asked.
"Yeah, and he found you when we were looking for wood in the woods."
Oh?
