Ch. 8Nothing Important

In the middle of the night, Briana woke up with an urge to urinate that she couldn't resist until morning. She stepped out of the room and headed to the bathroom despite her horror. Sean's house only had one bathroom, and it was near the kitchen. It was bad news that Briana already knew, especially since the house was only illuminated by the light of a small lantern, so every corner of the room she walked through looked very creepy.
Briana breathed a sigh of relief as she finally made it to the bathroom and urinated there. After she was done, Briana had to walk to her room and back through the dark, creepy hallway of this house. As Briana passed through the living room in the dim light, she saw someone lying on the sofa. Briana hesitantly approached until his figure was clearly visible to her eyes. It was Sean. Briana thought he was sleeping in the 'other room'.
Sean was fast asleep on the sofa without a blanket. Every now and then his hand would move to sweep away the mosquitoes, but he was still in his sleep. Something inside Briana felt sorry because Sean had to experience this because of her. Briana should be the one sleeping on the couch.
Briana went into the room to get a blanket to stop the bugs from sucking Sean's blood. Sean curled up after Briana covered him. He seemed to be calmer in his sleep. Briana carefully crouched down by Sean's side and looked at his peaceful face from a very close distance. Although the light in the room was not very bright, Briana could still see the scratch marks on Sean's face clearly.
Yeah, it's like the scratch of a wild animal. How did Sean get it?
Briana's hand reached out to remove a strand of hair that had fallen across Sean's face. Strands of hair interfered with Briana's view. Briana's knuckles accidentally brushed the hairy surface of Sean's cheek. The cheek to the jaw in front of her felt warm, and Briana's heart began to beat chaotic.
Oh man, I have to get back to my room! Briana cursed to herself. In a state of palpitations, she immediately entered the room.

"You're getting better; I'm glad you obeyed my wishes not to force yourself to remember everything," Anna said with a sweet smile.
Briana took a seat on the bed and swallowed the three pills Anna had given her for pain relief. Also sleeping pills, because Briana felt sleepy after taking them.
"I want my memory to recover soon," Briana said with a sad look in her eyes.
Anna smiled a little. Briana could see the concern behind her eyes.
"I hope your memory will recover soon, Brianaa said sincerely. "With your body getting stronger, you'll remember everything soon."
"I hope so," Briana replied a little pessimistically. Her memory seemed to be covered in a black fog. "If I try to remember my past, the nightmares come back."
"Try to be healthy first. If you can already enjoy the atmosphere in the cottage and its surroundings, I'm sure your mind will clear. The good memories from your past will show themselves."
Briana sighed softly, feeling tiredness setting in. However, Anna hoped Briana wouldn't give up.
"Alright, I have to go back to the hospital. There's a lot of work and patients waiting for me."
Briana got off the bed just as Anna got up from her seat. Briana walked Anna to the front yard, where they met Sean.
"Are you done?" Sean asked Anna.
Anna walked over to Adam and said something that Briana couldn't hear. She took a few steps forward to overhear Annie and Sean's conversation.
"Yes, Briana's condition is improving; her hand will heal in a few days."
Sean glanced at Briana, who seemed to be trying to overhear his conversation. Briana stretched out her neck like a wild goose.
"Good news," Sean said flatly. He looked back at Anna. "Don't you want to stay for lunch?" he offered.
Anna smiled kindly, the warmth for Sean visible in her eyes. Briana looked away, and a sudden heat came to her chest.
No way I'm jealous, Briana thought to herself.
"Sorry, maybe next time I have to go to the hospital," Anna politely declined.
Sean nodded in understanding, "Okay."
Anna walked to her car, and suddenly, Briana remembered something: "Anna!" Briana shouted, calling the beautiful doctor.
The woman stopped walking and turned around. "Yes, Briana?"
"Thanks for the clothes," Briana said. Briana remembered Anna buying her new clothes. Two very cute dresses that fit Briana perfectly.
Anna's forehead creased deeply. She looked at Briana confused. "I didn't get you any clothes."
"Eh? But Sean said, "
"I was going to buy some clothes, but I haven't gotten to the store yet. If I buy online, I often feel dissatisfied with the type of fabric that is not the same quality as in the catalog." Anna explained at length with some regret.
"It's time to go, Anna; your patients need you there," Sean interrupted.
Anna grinned amusedly while shaking her head slowly at Sean. Still with a big smile, Anna stroked Briana's hand, then she got into her car without giving any answers to Briana, who was still confused.
Briana stood by Sean's side while looking at Anna’s car, which was getting away.
"Did Anna forget to buy two cute dresses for me? It's impossible to forget; isn't it me who has amnesia?" Briana muttered while tapping her temple.
The man at Briana's side was about to turn around and resume his romance with the wood, but before he could move away, Briana immediately asked a question, "If not Anna, then who bought those dresses for me?"
Without answering Briana's question, Sean continued walking towards the backyard. Although annoyed because Sean had just ignored her, Briana was only able to scroll her eyeballs. Briana was lucky that she was used to Sean's cold demeanor.
However, Briana's mind was still wondering who was the person who had been kind enough to give her two new dresses. Nothing important; she just wanted to thank that person because Briana really liked the dress that person gave her.
