Ch. 5Forget It!

Sean was silent as he looked at Briana with a flat face. He seemed reluctant to talk about the accident that had happened to Briana and destroyed her memory.
Briana felt she had a right to know the truth. Slowly, Briana's delicate fingers touched the back of Sean's hand that was gripping the edge of the bed. Sean flinched, looking a little surprised by Briana's actions. Briana quickly withdrew her hand, seeing that Sean seemed uncomfortable.
"Please! Tell me what happened," Briana pleaded.
Sean sighed and shook his head. "Anna told me not to. She said it's not a good time for you to know. You need time until you're better."
"Oh, I see."
"But you have to look at the positive side. You know you can't stay.
in that place forever. You will leave this place as soon as I can find your family."
Briana swallowed back her question. Maybe Anna was right. Briana felt her head; she remembered how the pain was like hundreds of needles shot into her head a few days ago. The attack happened when Briana forced herself to remember what had happened.
Sean glanced at the watch, checking the time to make sure it wouldn't be too late today.
"Would you like to join me at the table or have breakfast here?" Sean asked.
Briana stared at the man for a moment and gave no reply. Briana removed the blanket from her body and got off the bed carefully. Briana felt like her legs were numb. There seemed to be a lot of ants swarming on her legs. The ants might have come because Briana's body had been lying on the bed too long. The ants thought she was dead.
"Come on," Briana said to Sean.
The man nodded as he invited Briana to walk ahead of him. Meanwhile, Sean walked right behind Briana. She could feel his sharp, overly serious eyes stalking her and almost burning a hole in her back.
At the dining table, three plates of pancakes were waiting for the two of them. Sean took the seat across from Briana. He said nothing and swallowed his breakfast. He didn't wait for Nancy to join him at the table. Briana had forgotten that Nancy wasn't there.
Through her lashes, Briana kept looking at Sean, chewing slowly. He looked better than yesterday or a week ago. Sean tied up Sean's rather long hair neatly, and the scratch marks on his face were now more visible.
Who did that? Is there a wild beast at the edge of this forest? Or a woman-incarnate wolf asked Sean for sex and then scratched Sean's handsome face. Jesus, Briana, what were you thinking? Briana patted herself on the head.
"Why is the food bad?"
"It's good. Did you cook it?"
"Hmmm."
"Wow! Awesome!" Briana praised once again.
After breakfast, Sean took all the plates and said, "We'll be leaving in fifteen minutes. The bathroom is over there if you want to use it."
"I already know. I've been in your shitty house long enough!"
Maybe Sean was being sarcastic. Briana realized that she hadn't showered for several days. Three days, even more. Of course, she knew where the bathroom was because Nancy helped her to the bathroom when she needed to relieve herself. Maybe Sean was reluctant to take Briana to the hospital because of her foul-smelling body, floppy hair, and pale and shabby face.
Briana, who lost her memory, went to the bathroom despite her resentment. She washed her face with water that felt very cold when it touched her skin. The cold water was refreshing. She then picked up her toothbrush and started brushing. However, when she finished washing her face and brushing her teeth, Briana seemed to struggle when she had to clean her body with one hand. The nightgown, which looked more like a man's shirt, was even harder to get off.
Briana painstakingly unbuttoned the shirt one by one, but unfortunately, it was still challenging to take off. Briana cringed at the oversized, uncooperative shirt. The sweater wouldn't come off her body.
Frustrated and annoyed, Briana said, "Ehmm. Sean!"
"Yes," Sean replied very close. Briana was surprised that he shouted so loudly.
Had Sean been standing in front of the bathroom door all this time? "I need your help," Briana said innocently.
Briana turned around, and Sean immediately walked into the bathroom. The bathroom had a tiled floor that looked similar to wood. Briana told him to close his eyes as she managed to pull the shirt off his body. The sweater got away, but the accidental touch Sean left at the base of her arm made Briana feel a strange sting that made her heart pump faster.
"Can you turn on the water? Use the warm shower," Sean said, surprising Briana to gasp. The man handed Briana a towel and immediately covered her naked body.
"I want to soak," Briana choked on her voice.
Sean went to the bathtub and turned on the warm water. After finishing his job, he left the bathroom without looking at Briana. However, before closing the door, the man had time to insinuate Briana with his sharp mouth. "Fifteen minutes is not long."
The door closed tightly. Briana pursed her lips in annoyance. Not caring about Sean's sarcasm, Briana immediately took off her towel and got into the bathtub filled with warm water. Carefully, Briana scrubbed her body, which could only be reached with one hand. Briana immersed some of her brown hair in the water up to the limit where the bandage was attached.
If only Nancy were still at home, she would have helped her scrub her body in the shower like this instead of a hot guy like Sean. This afternoon the old woman had left for town and left the two of them in the forest by the lake.
Briana stopped her hand from moving. Wait, first. Did I call a stiff man sexy?
Briana immediately remembered the way Sean looked at her. Sean's gaze was sharp as a lion and probing. If he smiled, it was in a very irritating way. There was no way Briana could say that Sean was attractive, let alone sexy.
Argh, forget it!
