Sean was transfixed by the tears that fell down Briana's face. He was about to pull her fragile body closer. However, with all the strength Briana had, she pushed him so hard that Sean's body took at least one step back.
"Damn it," Briana cursed. "You can't play me like this, Sean Brosnan!"
"Ms. Clooney...."
Again, Sean was about to approach, but Briana immediately took a step back, making distance with her arms stretched forward. "I'm sick of you!" she snapped. "With your arrogant, asshole attitude!"
Sean stayed where he was, but behind his dim eyes, Briana could see a great deal of guilt. He was too late for regrets because Briana's feelings had already been hurt so deeply. Briana had been hurt since Sean had left her after their first kiss. Briana was hurt because Sean wanted to kick her out of this house.
And Briana was hurt because all this time, Sean saw her as Anna... Anastasia.
"You don't like me yelling in your house, do you, Sean? Then let me go; if I keep being here, I won't stop yelling; I'll keep cussing you out and me-mpphhhh."
Without warning, Sean came forward and kissed Briana on the lips. Of course Briana was surprised, but she could do nothing but stay still and let Sean's lips caress her lips intimately. Briana was weakened by him; even the various kinds of swearing that were already on the tip of her tongue were simply swallowed when Sean kissed intimately. Caressing her tongue.
Briana's hands reached out to squeeze the muscles of Sean Brosnan's arms. She moans and gradually returns the sweet kiss. With his strong arms, Sean lifted Briana's body, and suddenly Briana's legs were wrapped around Sean's waist. Sean walked and carried Briana somewhere; she didn't care. Sean's lips were the only thing surrounding Briana's head at the moment. Like planets orbiting a galaxy.
Briana could feel her back touching the soft bed. Sean laid Briana carefully there while continuing to kiss her. His two rough palms embraced Briana's face fondly, and every touch he gave was a touch full of love and protection.
"I kissed her, Anna. I'm sorry. I promise I won't do it again."
Suddenly, that sentence flashed through Briana's head like a dark, cloudless thunderbolt. Briana, who was drowned deep by Sean's lips suddenly realized and immediately stopped returning the lips of the man who ruled the forest. Briana's body froze, stiff. Sean, who realized it ended their kiss, then looked into Briana's eyes.
"Hey," he whispered hoarsely, "are you okay?"
Briana returned the stare sarcastically, piercing him with all the pain in her heart, "I hate you, Sean, so much."
Staggering slightly, Briana got up to leave. Sean is still glued to the bed.
***
Briana really didn't care if she would get lost in this dense forest. All she wanted was to get away from that bastard Sean Brosnan. Being around him would only break her heart. Briana knew it was stupid, but it would be even more stupid if she continued to deny it.
Am I starting to love Sean?
Briana shook her head firmly. No way. It wasn't love. Briana was just lonely because the only creature she met was Sean. Of course Rocco wasn't included.
But that feeling no longer mattered; Sean already had Anastasia to love. Even Briana could feel how much Sean loved her, to the point that the handyman saw her as his woman. Poor Briana.
Briana was so sure because she remembered every detail of Sean's words. Sean kept mumbling about his Anna while fondling her lips a few minutes ago.
Tired of running, Briana began to walk slowly, looking for a comfortable place to rest. She passed through grass, weeds, and bushes that were quite tall. Briana hoped to find a large fallen branch to sit on. But damn it, what she found was more than just a big branch. Briana squealed with delight when she found a small paradise in front of her. A lake with clear water and a shady tree overhanging it.
Hadn't Nancy told her that Sean's wooden house could be reached two ways? Using a speedboat or a circular road. However, this lake wasn't as big as the one Briana had seen. It was different. It was more beautiful.
Her eyes gazed in amazement at the sight she had found. After making sure that the surroundings were safe, Briana sat down under a shady tree and looked at the calm waters of the lake. A small smile was painted on her lips; if only she could, she would rather stay at this lake than have to return to Sean's house. The place that was originally calm was now turned into a pile of wood for the cremation ceremony of her shattered heart.
Briana still remembered all the words Sean had said last night. Yes, he was indeed in a very drunk state, and Briana could not hold the words of a drunk person. However, what Sean said yesterday sounded very sincere, as if it came from the bottom of his heart.
"Don't leave me. I can't live without you. Arghhh!”
Briana rested her chin on a tree branch. She imagined how lucky the girl Anastasia was to have found a man like Sean who loved her so much. He was independent, responsible, brave, handsome, and kind despite his asshole attitude that saw Briana as another woman.
Hair, skin, and voice? Briana absolutely hated that fact. How could Sean equate himself with that woman? A woman he had never even met.
The faint sound of clattering steps could be heard. Briana's body stiffened, but she still looked straight at the clear lake water. Through the reflection of the water, she could see Sean coming toward her from behind.
"Let's go home," he said, without his usual commanding tone.
"No," Briana replied without thinking at all.
"I'm sorry, Miss Clooney. I'm sorry I treated you so badly. But, please come home with me and let me make amends," he coaxed.
Briana was silent. This was the first time Sean had spoken softly to her, not forcing or yelling. But what could Sean fix? Briana's already broken heart? That was impossible.
Briana turned to look at the man standing towering behind her back and said, "Call Sarah; I'll stay with her until I meet my family."
Sean's eyebrows shot up. His face turned sad, and his eyes sadly looked into my eyes. "I won't send you to Sarah."
"Why, isn't that what you want, Mr. Brosnan?" sneered Briana.
"At first, yes." Sean sighed softly, "But not now."
Briana rose from the roots of the tree she was sitting on and stood in front of Sean, who thought she had agreed to go home with him.
"Treating others like trash; is that a bad habit of yours?" Briana snarled like a venomous snake.
