Ch. 5The police close Nora's case

Soraya still remembers how her mother was killed. In fact, when she saw her mother's body in the morgue, Soraya noticed the cut on her mother's neck which looked so perfect.

The killer inflicted this very deep wound in just one move. That's what makes Soraya believe that all these incidents must have been carried out by professional killers.

He had repeatedly asked investigators to follow up on the case of his mother's death, but they always insisted that Soraya did not have sufficient evidence.

They said that all the assessments that Soraya gave to the police were only proof that she still couldn't accept her mother's departure.

*****

This is crazy! Where is there anyone in this world who can accept losing a mother, especially if she was killed in a sadistic way? There isn't any!

Soraya stood under the running water while thinking about other ways to follow up on this case. But after a while, he still couldn't find anything.

Finally, he sighed in frustration before turning off the shower tap, then stepped out and dried his body.

Today Soraya got the second shift. Before heading to the cafe, he intended to meet one of his police acquaintances, who was also the investigator handling the case of his mother's death.

He hoped he could persuade the man once again to open the case.

Soraya hurriedly put on her work uniform, then touched up her make-up and put her hair in a ponytail. Don't forget to fill your stomach with a glass of milk and three slices of toast.

Before leaving the house, Soraya put in one of the novels she hadn't finished reading, put on her favorite black sweater, then put her cell phone in her trouser pocket.

After checking the windows and balcony door, Soraya rushed out of the apartment and locked it.

"Where are you going?"

Kevin's voice suddenly appeared from behind the apartment door, making Soraya startled. The unit where Kevin lives is only three doors from where Soraya lives.

Kevin lives alone, while his family is on the other side of Australia, Perth. Kevin has family problems, which until now the man has never told him about them.

“"I-I want to go to work," answered Soraya nervously.

“Work? You'll get two shifts today. "And it's still... 2 hours left," said Kevin after looking at the wall clock in the living room.

A second later, Kevin's confused expression turned into suspicion when he saw Soraya's stiff expression, who immediately turned her gaze in another direction.

Oh, yes, Soraya is the hardest to lie to. In fact, he couldn't even hide his expression in the slightest.

If he is happy, his cheerful smile and sparkling eyes will be immediately visible, as well as the pink blush on his cheeks.

If he is sad, then the look in his eyes is sad, accompanied by wrinkles on his forehead and a gloomy expression is clearly visible on his face. That's what makes people around Soraya able to guess her mood Easy.

Soraya doesn't talk much, in fact she is quite quiet. He can also be categorized as an introverted person.

Even though Soraya really doesn't like crowds, she is forced to work in a famous cafe that is always busy to pay for her living needs.

Soraya also doesn't really like talking to strangers. In fact, he prefers to sit alone in the back of the cafe reading novels to spend his rest time.

“What? Are you going to the police station again?” Kevin guessed, as if he was able to read what was inside Soraya's head. The man stood in front of the door with a surprised expression that made Soraya look down in shame.

“"I-I want to... I mean... maybe there's no harm in trying one more time," said Soraya nervous.

“Once again? "You've tried more than twenty times if I'm not mistaken," Kevin scolded, folding his arms across his chest.

The man was wearing a loose white t-shirt. Her tall body makes Soraya look like a child who is being scolded by her eldest brother.

“"I still can't accept it, Kev," said Soraya, trying to defend herself. He looked at Kevin with determination, hoping that the man would understand.

“"I know," said Kevin, trying to understand, "but wouldn't it be better if you let it all go and prayed for your mother like people usually do?? I'm worried about you, Soraya. You look even thinner since that incident."

“My mother was murdered!” Soraya stressed with an annoyed frown on her forehead. He was not happy if his mother's death was equated with the deaths that other people experienced.

“Then, what else do we want to do? It has been determined that your mother's death was a murder resulting from resistance during a robbery. The evidence is clear.

Even though until now the perpetrator has not been found, we can't do anything else, Soraya. This case is closed!” Kevin remembered quickly, as if Soraya had forgotten how annoyed the police were every time he came and insisted that her mother died because she was murdered by a professional killer.

“Not us, but me!” said Soraya, trying to be strong, but her voice was small, "I will try to find a way to get them to open this case and immediately find her mother's killer."

Quickly, Soraya turned around, then stepped away from Kevin, accompanied by feelings of sadness that were increasingly rampant. He walked up several stairs to the ground floor.

Just as she was about to turn to the next staircase, a tight grip on her wrist made Soraya turn around quickly.

“"I think I know how," Kevin said a little out of breath while trying to catch his breath.

“You mean?" Soraya asked confused.

"The way to get your mother's case reopened," Kevin answered confidently.

"How?" Soraya asked quickly.

“"The answer is in the cafe," said Kevin no less quickly.

"Café?" Soraya repeated, frowning in confusion.

“I'll tell you later at the cafe. Now, wait for me in the living room! "I also want to get ready to leave," explained Kevin seriously, then released his grip on Soraya's wrist.

“Okay. "I'll wait for you to get ready," said Soraya obediently. Happiness and relief began to settle in his chest, even just a little. Finally, Kevin will help Soraya to open the murder case. Yes, Kevin always helps him.
